@@pranze3484 yes SEAC. Joking aside, I’ve seen this issue before. Older Apple products were plagued with them if you were in a high static area. It’s just experience. Additionally, if not corrected it could actually destroy the device. I have a hunch part of it is that they didn’t shield the screen as Taki mentioned in his last video. Edit: it’s also understanding how the touch screens work fundamentally.

For a long time I thought that Anbernic had hit rock bottom with the RG552 due to the bad and unthought-out ergonomics of the handheld (shoulder buttons). But with the Win600, Anbernic has managed to repeat the SAME mistake with the bad ergonomics (using the stick and operating the shoulder buttons at the same time) and as if that wasn't bad enough, in my opinion Anbernic also demands a much too high and very cheeky one Price for the service offered. It almost seems to me as if Anbernic is trying to compensate for their previously unachieved sales and profit targets with each additional product through an even poorer price-performance ratio. And that WITHOUT even paying attention to the most important point of all: THE BUYER 🤷‍♂️ That the buyer really has a good feeling with the handheld in the end and that especially in relation to a reasonable and fair price. Anbernic has achieved this goal with the RG351 series. Now Anbernic only draws attention to embarrassing actions against Taki Undo. This is a very weak signal from Anbernic. Thanks for the effort 👍

I'd stick with windows and try modding the triggers to be somehow clickable at a lower angle, those analog sticks placements are just awful.

At 640 x 480 resident evil 3 remake looks like the original ps1 version lol. At least the framerate makes the game playable just at that resolution.

Well, the video taught me that you can technically run some of these games at such low resolution. It was a surprise considering that 720p is generally the minimum design target for the last ten years. Even the Switch was intended as a 720p handheld, but some games will barely do 720p when you dock it.

The touchscreen problems reminds me of a badly grounded touchpad on a MSI gaming laptop I had returned. It might be just a hardware issue with the unit you got. You might experience different results with different cables that vary in shielding or how you hold the device with your hands while touching the screen. It’s a hardware issue regardless of workaround.

-These devices use soldered memory- (Oh holy wow this things uses a single stick of regular RAM?) and usually do not have extra toys enabled in the UEFI. These are not desktop gaming motherboards with a gaming OC firmware. The Win600 is trash held back by the Athlon processor. 3CUs Vega is literally nothing against 8CUs RDNA2, and the power consumption is bad for what you get. That single stick of slow memory probably won't even hold back such a weak GPU.

So if I want something like the steamdeck to play all of my gog games, and run PS2 via retroarch. Which is my best option? I'm ok with Steamdeck, but I have to work with it just to get windows working and I'd rather have windows out of the box. I have a GPD Micro PC but I want one with this controller style formfactor.

@Anna333 Get a backpack and you won't have any issue bringing your "Steam Deck" on the go. Or Nintendo Switch carrying case they'll fit Steam Deck easily without any problems if you don't want to carry your backpack around. Or get a Nintendo Switch sling bag or just play your Steam Deck at home. I have switch V2 and i bring it inside my backpack. And it's my convenient way of bringing it on the go!

Steam Deck is an amazing device and I'm extremely glad Valve made it, because it has really re-lit the fire of handheld gaming. That being said my personal dream handheld is much smaller than the Deck and I would gladly trade some performance for it along with better battery life. There is definitely room in the market for other devices besides the Deck but clearly the Win600 is not it.

@@scrub_jay I agree for 400 bucks this device can't even run basic Dream Cast emulator or PS2. When Ayn Odin Lite can easily run PS2, Dream Cast, N64, Game Cube and Wii and Wii U emulator. And run them at 30fps to 60fps. Easily and has good battery life however Win600 isn't worth it. I'd gladly buy Steam Deck or Ayn Odin lite which is way cheaper and has better specs!

@Skyre Both Ayn Odin base model and Steam Deck starts at 400 pounds where I live and 400 dollars in USD. And Ayn Odin Lite starts at just 200. Which is tempting. But I'd rather spend 400 bucks on Steam Deck and play all the emulators and PC games supported by Steam. And PS2, PS1, PS3, Wii, Wii U, GCN, N64 Dream Cast can be run at full speed probably more then full speed. And beyond. Where as AYN Odin and Odin Lite and even Pro model Will run them at 30fps to 40fps on Odin Lite and Base model and 60fps on Pro model anymore then that and it'll probably struggle to run games more then 60fps!

Perhaps not worth a revisit, but could you let us know if the deep sleep feature the works so well on the steam deck in STEAM OS operates well here? When tapping the power button on the steam deck, it smoothly puts any game to sleep and reawakens it perfectly, this even works in emulators which I figured may not resume well, would be a good thing to test for future videos as well, as this is part of what makes the steam deck great for pick up and play sessions.

On WIN600, you have to select the sleep button in the power menu, instead of just press the power button. It seems work, but I'm not sure if sleep mode can save power while device is sleeping.

For Intel, you can use Throttle Stop. It has a bit of a learning curve, but it works well with 12th gen Intel.

For gaming on battery in general, the biggest power savings is from not using any separate GPU in the system. Asus and a couple other brands have options to prevent the dGPU from being used while on battery....it can make the difference between 3hrs vs 10hrs battery life doing office work. If you are stuck on integrated graphics you would need to lower settings, but some games are very playable on modern integrated graphics. Then like Taki said, things like lowering your max CPU clock can prevent power from being wasted. On an original AMD A8 APU many years ago, I could play Crysis for 90min on the dGPU or I could lower the CPU clocks and play Oblivion for 5 hours on the iGPU. This has pretty much been the pattern for all systems built since then.

@@pcwizard7Tech With throttlestop you can be a little smarter than just completely disabling turbo, that's why Taki suggested it. Besides a lot of games will run fine down to 3Ghz CPU or less. Does your laptop have a dedicated video card? Because that will be the biggest power draw when gaming on battery.

With Ayn hitting a homerun with the Odin, I'd go ahead and preorder a Steam Deck or a Loki. If you're looking to spend the money and don't want an actual laptop then go over to Aya and their competitors on the high-end. At this price point I think you're almost better off getting an Odin Pro and side-loading windows - it can't be more janky, and at least it's a solid device.

Worth pointing out I don't think this device in SteamOS should have much trouble playing Star Wars Dark Forces or most any other DOS era games, but you may need to take the step of installing the native version of Dosbox from Desktop mode and pointing it at the game files instead of having Steam try to do the same thing through the Proton layer by default.

The Loki says it will support Linux installs, such as Ubuntu. Getting Steam OS on it will likely be the most minor of hurdles, at worst. But you'll probably still see problems like the TDP not working until we see updates to holoiso

For $400 plus a small MicroSD card, you can play Witcher 3 for about three hours on the Deck lol. But a lot of people don't live in a market where the Deck is being sold. So unless or until that situation improves, someone will break down and buy this.

The problem isn't just the TDP or memory speed. The problem is their stupid decision to only use 1/2 of the CPUs memory bus meaning the device is permanently stuck in single-channel mode.

I actually do not mind this device even though I think it is expensive for the power. It is probably all I need. I want a handheld I can do emulation up to Dreamcast / PSP level and play older PC games. The only problem with this device for me is when I do try and play PC games on this, the analog stick looks too low to be very comfortable. I like a high d-pad because I will use it mostly for retro games but the point of getting a windows device is to play some PC games as well and I just cannot see that being comfortable. If someone has one and can confirm if that is an issue, I would be interested to know. I have had a Steam Deck on reserve since last September so it might just make sense to wait for that.

This touch issue has to deal with magnetic fields. That's a characteristic from capacitive screens as they use the conductive power of the human finger to recognize where it's being touched. If the battery is not isolated enough from the screen it can have issues while charging, thanks to the magnetic fields that are generated. Several devices have this issue, especially older ones, since the battery is so close to the screen.

Windows on a touch screen is a horrible experience by itself, but for my Onexplayer I'm using Bigbox as a frontend and it's definitely worth the extra cost for the Launchbox premium license. I boot into Bigbox on Windows and it works perfectly ax a frontend for emulation and pc games.

These controls look absolutely terrible. I don’t even wanna try playing anything with em. 🤪 I enjoy emulation and Android games on my Odin Pro. Besides the small analog sticks the controls are perfect and getting used to the small analogs didn’t take very long. For PC handheld gaming I would go for a Steamdeck or if it wasn’t available where I live I would spend a little more bucks for something like a Loki.

Considering my experience with the Deck 512GB thus far, if Valve offers an $800 model with metal frame and borderless OLED I would probably trade up. It wouldn't even need to be faster, I'd be paying for build quality and and deeper colors on the screen. Deck is fantastic but a metal body could make it slimmer and may also improve cooling. A metal Deck could almost go fanless, but probably not quite.
