Wow the unofficial Trilogy Of Death caught up your attention, nice! *HEADBANGER!* _Headbanger!_ is an all time BM favorite, song is about 15 year old girl special birthday going to her first metal concert while leaving her childhood behind, is a melancholic song mixed with industrial metal like you'd never seen before. This song is one of the earliest Babymetal tracks and it was released when the lead singer got only 14 years old so it's not biographical song, but the song grows throughtout the time even on the girls while understanding many things on lyrics such the "special discount ticket" japanese people get during certain special day that leaves them travel in public transport paying only one time. This is part of unofficial Trilogy of Death from the same live concert, tracks are: _Headbanger!, Akatsuki (Unfinished Ver.), and Babymetal Death._ The whole concept of this special concert run around "Death and Rebirth," there's even a unique beautiful SuMetal solo cover song from certain anime which reffers to that if you want to check that out. Their official MV is somewhat creepy for many fans, specially female fans, but once you get to know this song live there's no way to not felt in love and embrace it even more. Also in this official MV the girls are pretty young just like during *Legend I* first time Kami Band shows up and beginning of "Metal Resistance" chapter. Babymetal got plenty of lore and stories behind most of their songs, but sometimes is just about fun and lyrics are not so important but the sound and music will never let you down as well as their insane amount of energy they put every live performance, in this case lyrics are meaningful, that's why is one of the most beloved by fans and you hardly see this song not being played during live performances. *AKATSUKI (Unfinished Ver.)* A lovely soft ballad piano version of originally power metal with so much fire, you got to see the original live at Budokan to fully enjoy this one. She played this song recently at Budokan "10 Babymetal Years Doomsday", and she changes vocal techniques a lot, like a lot, and it's better because of healthy reasons, but of course she's still awesome and we love different versions of her and the performance with different things like guitar duel, SuMetal fighting against her mirror, or "muscle-metal" fighting in a cool coreo. She said in a interview that she knew she can deliver this song first time when she saw someone in the audience crying. T_T *BABYMETAL DEATH* If you're a Metallica fan you can spot this riffs at the _One_ song, as well of the -virgen mary- image behind (is not, is SuMetal resembles) they're truly BM sensei and they love the girls too.

The Legend 97 concert took place on Su's 16th birthday and these were the last 3 songs performed. The Kami Band had only come on stage for the last 5 songs of the night and the 'Bones' (actors in skeleton suits) had mimed the earlier numbers while a soundtrack played...but either way Su sang live for nearly all of them. I've never heard these 3 songs termed the 'Trilogy of Death' before - not sure who told you that! - but it's the first time I've seen anyone react to 3 Babymetal songs in a row, let alone in the order they were performed and from one concert, so hats off to you (or "Kitsune Up!" as we Babymetal fans say). There's a heavier version of 'Akatsuki' (pronounced AK-AT-SKEE) which you'll love, which is not just piano and strings but the Kami Band on full throttle (there's even a guitar duet!) at the Budokan Black Night concert - kzbin.info/www/bejne/nWOWaGV5arV9gq8 . The last song used to be their opening number, as the lyrics are just them introducing themselves using the usual Japanese term for "I am/We are/etc" (the verb 'to be', basically), which is "Desu", pronounced with a silent 'u' so it sounds like Dess...which they played on in a Metal way and changed it to 'Death'. So we hear "B-A-B-Y-M-E-T-A-L Death ("We are Babymetal") and then each of the girls introduces themselves..."SuMetal Death", "YuiMetal Death" and "MoaMetal Death". Then Su the J-Pop singer is sacrificed and reborn as the Metal Goddess and Queen SuMetal. Oh, and please remember that Babymetal are #NotaCult. #DefinitelyNotaCult. #AnyoneSayingWeAreACultWillBeSacrificedToTheFoxGod. 🤣🦊🤘🦊

HaHA, He wasn't ready for that. That was the best performance of Headbanger in my book. I just love when Moa gives her war cry and starts blasting the fog. Careful, AKATSUKI makes me cry if I have been drinking. Don't drink and AKATSUKI . No, the next one is some brutal metal theater performance and 1 band member dies. Yes, watching them in a row takes you on a journey, I am not sure if have did that.

Well, it's not a trilogy and the three songs aren't themed around death (Headbanger not in the slightest, it's about a 15-year-old's first rock concert), but they were performed back-to-back and that's how the audience experienced them. They were part of a five-song encore for LEGEND 1997 where the Kami Band came out to replace the miming Babybones - the encore began with a special version of Onedari Daisakusen, then Catch Me If You Can, then these three songs.

Legend One-Nine-Nine-Seven (referring to the year of Su's birth) It is the story that, receiving the legendary corset from the god of Metal, she abandons being human and shall be reborn as a goddess. Basically this show was the final step in BABYMETAL transitioning from Idol group sub-unit to independent metal band - it was also Su-metal's final step in her transition from J-Pop Idol - she was sacrificing her human existence and life as Suzuka Nakamoto the J-Pop Idol to be reborn as Su-metal the Metal Goddess chosen to lead the Metal Resistance.

I love how the Babymetal Death song got to be what it became. It was their introduction song, Babymetal Desu "We are Babymetal" and morphed into Babymetal Death due to the 'U' in desu not being pronounced when spoken/sung. Western audiences being ignorant of the language morphed 'desu' into 'death' and thus it just stuck, even in Japan. You should hear a more recent version of Akatsuki Live. Su's voice has greatly matured. No more of that young girl squeainess.

Why do people feel the need to make up a trilogy moniker for these songs that have nothing to do with each other whatsoever?
@watcher25543 жыл бұрын
You mean 'songs that have nothing to do with each other' other than they were the last three songs, in order, of the encore at the Legend 1997 show ending in "Babymetal Death"? No reason I guess.
@Shoe-metal3 жыл бұрын
The Kami Band replaced Babybones for the LEGEND 1997 encore following IDZ, and it began with Onedari Daisakusen and Catch Me If You Can. The encore was five songs. Arbitrarily chopping it down to three songs just to have something else to call a trilogy doesn't really make sense. What _happened_ at the concert was a five-song encore of various songs using the Kami Band. He enjoyed reacting the three songs back to back (though it left him with little to say about them individually) and they certainly could have been recommended as the final three songs of a concert that are worth watching that way. But it's just weird to be inventing "Trilogy of IDZ" or "Trilogy of The One" or naming any set of three closing songs as "Trilogy of LastSongName".
@MacTaipan3 жыл бұрын
@@watcher2554 So we are calling the last three songs of any show a trilogy now? Otherwise, I would like to hear the explanation how Headbanger has anything to do with death.

@@MacTaipan Humm...I would have thought that adding the word "Unofficial" in a title would indicate that it was "Not Official" but rather whatever the OP wanted it to be. Perhaps I understand that incorrectly. As to what one song has to do with another, Humm, kinda thought there was a theme that ran throughout the concert indicating the Progression from Idol group to Heavy Metal group. Banging a Gong to awaken the Fox God so He knows Suzuka is Ready to do what is necessary, then, the Lament for the life she is about to give up, then Her Sacrifice. It, um, kinda flows, ya'know. Or maybe two little girls offering up a 'neck brace' while Schuberts "Ellen's ditter Gesang", "Ave Maria", played in the background is the only song that means anything from the entirety of that show?? Babymetal is always full of surprise! This version of Akatsuki called unfinished, has been played live only once, at this legend 1997 show. You should also react to the original Akatsuki live at Budokan is really good and safe. Even if it's the same song, it's so different that it feels like another song. I didn't read anyone explaining you the Babymetal Death thing, so I'll try and be concise. In Japanese, if you want to introduce yourself, you say your name first and follow with Desu (the U is silent). So Babymetal Desu means We are Babymetal. Desu feels really similiar to the english Death, so they pulled a pun there, since Death is the most metal way to introduce yourself :D The lyrics of the song are: they start spelling B-A-B-Y-M-E-T-A-L, the SU METAL DESU (or DEATH), YUI METAL DEATH, MOA METAL DEATH; BABYMETAL DEATH. And that's why this song was often used as a Concert opener (not this time) in their early days.

I couldn’t imagine being in that crowd when Akatsuki (unfinished) was debuted. The emotions. Su’s performance. The setting. I don’t know if I would have stopped myself from tearing up. Sandwiched between Headbanger & Death. A rollercoaster of emotions. Oh yeah, I forgot crucifying Su… 😝😂
