Max Headroom and especially the highjacking incident are so insanely interesting. The whole phenomenon around him is so insanely ironic and feels straight out of a cyberpunk story, yet it's something that managed to come to life.

@@georgelincolnrockwell6248 I know, it's one of my favorite cyberpunk works. What I'm saying is it's interesting how the hijacking phenomenon and honestly his larger media presence is so ironically cyberpunk in a fascinating way that really shows the genre's grounding in reality.

The Max Headroom incident didn’t necessarily predict internet culture, it revealed the digital culture of the 80’s that then went on to influence early internet culture. The hijackers didn’t invent or predict anything really, besides maybe trolling lol
