He can’t tell his brother how he saved his life. He can’t tell everyone why he turned to this so-called evil path and stopped using his sword. All he can do is pretend that everything’s fine and play off his actions as carelessness or even selfishness, even though everything he does is to protect others at his own expense. It’s incredibly sad that only a few other characters see through his carefree facade.

Wei Wuxian is a lot more responsible than he outwardly projects. Even before the war, he was a joker and trouble maker, but he was the head disciple of the clan for a reason. Yanli said from the beginning that he takes things seriously when it's important. He is actually good at his job. But because of all the things he has to keep hidden now, especially from Jiang Cheng, he can't do his job properly.

IMPORTANT DETAIL: Wei Ying is not drunk when that push from JC puts him in the grown. Also, watch his scared/traumatized expression when JC tries to touch him afterwards. You guys are misreading the situation with Wei Ying. He did step up, and is currently suffering inmensily so everyone else can be happy. Not to mention, that he did not process his childhood trauma, that led him to the memory problems he had as an adult because Jiang Cheng's mother used to beat him for every little thing, to the point he has scars in his body from those times. He did not have time to process what happened to the Clan, because he had to save and protect them. And he was thrown into hell, where he was tormented and tortured by the evil things that lingered there for MONTHS, before getting out. There was no food there... he had to eat human flesh from the bodies to survive. But he returned with a smile and power to take care/protect his siblings, enduring all this suffering in silence, because he can't tell anyone what is really going on with him.

Wei Wuxian's father was Clan Leader Jiang's friend and servant until he married Wuxian's mom and left the clan. The parents died on a nighthunt when Wuxian was 4, leaving him orphaned and homeless until Jiang Fengmien found him when he was 9 and took him back to Lotus Pier

6:41 Technically yes. That's what's left of the Jiang Clan. Remember that the only ones involved are the cultivation clans ergo the Jiangs of Yunmeng, who reside at Lotus Pier. Yunmeng is like the whole Province. The others outside of Lotus Pier are not cultivators so they are pretty much safe lol. The cultivation clans are like a separate state in the different provinces. 8:05 - a season or an Arc ^~^ 8:38 As to why the Jin clan rose to power, it's kudos to the cultivation world's (stupid) politics. After the Sun Shot Campaign, the Lan's of Gusu, Nie's of Qinghe and Jiangs of Yunmeng were almost wiped out and are rebuilding their clans. At that time, The Jins are testing waters and are pretty much not that active against the Wens and basically bowed to them. If you remember the time when the clan heirs were held captive, the Jins answered positively to the Wens. They later joined the campaign when they saw that the alliance has a chance to overthrow the Wens. And since the Jins didn't suffer damages from the Sunshot Campaign, their influence and economic resources are stable. And also because the stupid people deemed Meng Yao as the 'hero' for 'killing' Wen Ruohan when he did no shit.

Well if you connect the dots from previous eps, you'll see where Wuxian is coming from. Also, I think he just doesn't feel like his home anymore at Lotus Pier, after all that happened, the massacre and the guilt. Wei ying has done so much to protect the ones he loves. He sacrificed his own happiness and safety hell, and he gave up his golden core to save JC. People think he's crazy or selfish, but he did steo up to the plate on multiple occasions . He cant tell pwople he gave up his core to save his brother. Jhe cant say that he had his flute and uses that instead of his wsord. Through-and-through, his morals have not changed his speech that he gave earlier in his teenage years when he studied at cloud recess still remained the same. Which is what if you can use resentful energy? Eliminate the evil He's not a bad person. He's thinking outside the box of ways to handle a situation if you can't win a battle that you Miles will join in and be making it of some use. There's a reason why there are some people who have stuck by his side from beginning to end versus those who go back-and-forth with him, because they can't understand but he can't just flat outright, say why he does the things that he does and why he chose the path that he chose He chose the path to protect people and eliminate the evil. Even though people see him as one of the evils That doesn't stop him from trying to save them. Even if they hate him even if they try to kill him, he would still try to save them. Because there's always another way and things aren't always what they seem. So even if it means everybody hating him, he's still gonna do what whatever it takes to help save people. Wei wuxian character is a lot more responsible,wait... no, actually, he might be the most responsible and selfless among all the characters, golden core is extremely, extremely important to a cultivators its equivalent to losing your hands or feets because you're basically "useless" and became a normal human who would die of old age while cultivators can lived to hundred of years as they gets more powerful, and not even a father can give up his own for the sake of his childrens, the fact that wwx gives his golden core to JC without any hesitation tells a lot about his character, Also you guys should ALWAYS pay attention to every little details and characters as they pay big role in the later episode, like for example, this episode, we can see how wwx mask his weaknesses by being "himself" playing around bc he's unable to helps JC with teaching other disciples due to losing his power
