Why wouldn’t you run to your brother if he is DYING. Yanli was trying to REDEEM her brother by CONSOLING HIS PAIN. Remember that she is one of the few people that can calm him down. She knows that wwx feels guilty for the death of her husband and she wanted to tell him “it was not his fault” in order to stop him from DESTROYING EVERYTHING out of his RESENTMENT. It was not stupid. IT WAS A SELF LESS ACT in order to save WWX and EVERYONE from the blood bath. She was actually an UNSUNG HERO. The drama made it seem tho that it is the triggering factor for wwx jumping off the cliff. But it wasn’t actually the case in the novel. I think it’s the screenwriters fault.

right?! 😭 for me it wasn’t exactly that i found him cute, even though i do love his dimples. but because of his birth mother it gave him an unfortunate time while he was in the lanlingjin sect. he was shown as a hard worker in some scenes and when we first saw him next to nie huaisang in cloud recesses, he seemed quite sweet and respectful, at least to me. his constant smiling did unsettle me at times, but something about jin gaungyao’s character made me want to give him the benefit of the doubt, and so when it was entirely revealed that he was the main villain here, it still felt hard to accept, even though i had noticed just about all the clues, but just brushed over them because i didn’t want to see him in a bad light for as much as possible. lol ig you could say i’m like how lan xichen was! 🤣

@@dude3850 omg same. i started off as a novel reader so i didn't know what jgy looked like, so it wasn't his cuteness that swayed me first. it was his hardwork and dedication and how he was a damn good jinlintai's event organizer lmao. he was portrayed as this caring host with great memories and attention to details. and the fact that a lot of characters trash on him even despite all of that makes me sympathize with him and like him even more. and even after he was revealed as a villain, i still can't hate him. mxtx wrote the danger of double standard so perfectly in her story, that if jgy came from a respectable (in the eyes of his society) background, he wouldn't have got all of that hate. he wouldn't have to prove himself to the point of trampling everyone around him. so yeah ig we're just like lxc in that way. also idk if zzj read the novel, but it's canon that jgy kinda has this unsettling smile and ig zzj acted it perfectly

Books are censored as well. As for ebooks, they are not called bl, they have an ambiguous category called pure love instead of bl. And they can show bl love but no scene contains sexual suggestions even the slightest. So the smut you read in the Chinese bl novels are published by the author for free on other personal social platforms but not novel platforms because they don’t allow it. As for real books, slightest bl are NOT allowed not to mention smut. The book publish censorship is crazy. Some authors got thrown into jail ngl

it is said he is forgetable but he is one of the best, I mean if we think about it, it must have been really hard for him to put his anger aside over his brother's, father's death and come up with this twisted plot to reveal who the real person is behind all this sh....t. He was a strong character not letting his anger took over him and just go on a killing spree taking revenge, but he came up with this clumsy, don't-know-anything character. He knew Wuxian was innocent and by asking him figuring out everything in Mo's body was a 2in1 act. First he got revenge but at the same time he cleared Wuxian's name as well. So he is kind of "forgetable" because of his silly character, but ath the same time he is the number 1 in the story. acting all dumb but still being the most clever one makes him one of the top characters. Well also I sometimes had this "Come on, he is here again, why? he showed up for nothing" kind of moments, but gotta admit he was a genius.

Ayyyyyy here’s my opinion on one thing so feel free to agree or disagree with it: I really loved how the director decided to involve Wen Qing and Shijie in the Lan Sect teaching arc! Like it gave them so much more screen time than it did in the novel and it made me develop a connection to them, so when the sad endings came for Wen Qing and Shijie, it affected me way more than it did when I read the novel

I think somebody already mentioned Song Lan's whole ordeal below but yeah, the novel goes more into their backstory and Song Lan was actively searching for XXC, so it was really XXC who dipped (Song Lan was grieving his entire clan so I don't blame him for briefly lashing out at XXC). For the one about Yanli's death though, I don't think it's WWX's fault but I understand why JC would want to blame him. I don't think JC was thinking that it was actually WWX's out of control corpse that actively killed Yanli but rather the course of events that led up to it. JC's whole deal was WWX choosing justice over family (helping the Wen instead of staying to rebuild the sect). This ultimately led to the large-scale battle so the underlying conflict that led to Yanli's death was, at least from everything JC knew at the time, WWX's fault.

I'm generally in agreement with most of these. I thought Song Lan served a purpose, but the chemistry was better between Xiao Xingchen and Xue Yang (which is kind of messed up tbh XD). I think that Nie Huaisang was DELIBERATELY forgettable. And the ending of the standard edition is absolutely trash - they would never have left each other, not in a million years - but whether we like it or not, China isn't ready for a proposal and Wei Ying coming to live at Cloud Recesses. Like, I'm not yelling at you for your opinion; I totally agree with it - but we have to take what we can get. And at least we have the special edition. ^_^

People keep saying they would never have left each other but it made sense that Wei Ying left. He had been dead for 13yrs and didn't exactly come back to a peaceful time. Being tied down immediately to a place with 4000 rules wouldn't have been the right choice for him and Lan Zhan wouldn't have been able to follow him because of his Chief Cultivator duties. So I think it'd make sense that he leaves for a while, explores and eventually comes back, because Lan Zhan would always be his home.

*About Xingchen and SongLan: the point is that, they were cultivation partners (like, a couple) and xue yang wanted to revenge from xingchen. So xue yang killed all the people song lan loved and made him blind to hurt xingchen, so they had this huge fight were song lan is in pain and say that he doesn't want to be with xingchen anymore, so guilty and broken heart xingchen gave his eyes to song lan and then run away. Then time goes by and song lan is looking for xingchen to ask for forgiveness and then he finds him taking care of xue yang (who was pretending to be another person and making him kill inoccent people) and since xue yang was the reason of their disgrace in the first place, i totally get Song Lan angry (even tho i just didn't feel nothing for him). And that's what makes them more miserable because xingchen kills himself when finds out he killed song lan, and song lan died trying to ask for forgiveness to xingchen but he couldn't.* *In resume: when it comes of xingchen and song lan i just want to kick xue yang ass.*

From what I understand after reading the manga as well, Song lan and Xiao Xingchen were a parallel to Wei and JC. Xiao Xingchen sacrificed his eyes to Song lan even after they had had an argument. (The whole I never want to see you again thing.) Song Lan was found by Wei on the same mountain he later took JC to. In this way I believe that the story was hinting at Xiao Xingchen doing the same thing Wei did with his golden core, except with his eyes. He led Song Lan away with a false story and then gave him his eyes before abandoning him to be found by a kind stranger. He didn’t want Song to know that it was him who sacrificed his eyes. However, Song found out and spent the rest of the time searching for Xiao Xingchen. We all know what happened when he found him. That’s why their storyline really felt tragic to me because I felt the parallel between their and Wei and JC’s story.

Xue Yang was the character you could rely on, in terms of behaviour. He was always a psycho, you knew what to ecpect form him, no other side to him, except at the arc, getting attached to Xiancheng. I would say for two reasons, mainly he wanted to use him and torture him but at the same time he kinda loved him for showing him love and care. He had these moments when it seemed to me he realised he could be a bit better person, but his intentions took over him. I cried the most when he died, I felt so sorry for him. All the other characters went through these little changes, smaller, bigger in characteristic. I think the only one that stayed true to himself was Xue Yang.

I agree with most of your opinions, the ending could be better but I think most people guessed that Lan Wangji and Wei Wuxian were reunited towards the end. Nie Huaisang being a forgettable character was and advantage though since no one would have suspected him of being behind it all, I don’t like Jin Guangyao either but I kinda pity him. His past wasn’t an excuse to lie and manipulate though. Jiang Yanli’s death IS NOT Wei Wuxian’s fault and I completely agree with that! Jiang Cheng blaming him for it isn’t right, it feels like he just wants someone to blame for the death of his family. The lotus pier burning down wasn’t his fault either, regardless if Wei Wuxian would have provoked Wen Chao or not I feel like it would happen sooner or later. I personally liked Song Lan and his relationship with Xiao Xingchen, Song Lan is just a reserved person and expresses himself a bit differently. I feel like he and Xiao Xingchen got along since they both kind off complemented each other in a way? Sorry if this was so long! I would love it if you made more videos like this one expressing your own thoughts ☺️

1) I admit the ending isn't very good, but they were working around Chinese censorship and that was most likely the path of least resistance. At the very least, they allowed them to come back together instead of keeping them separated, which would've been worse. 2) Yay I'm not alone. I don't necessarily hate Jin Guangyao as much as I could because there's honestly characters I hate more like Su She or Jin Guangshan. But even though I do pity the sadder parts of Jin Guangyao's story, that doesn't really excuse the choices he made. Even if there are people he cared about, he still hurt way too many others and manipulated the ones he cared about too much for that to balance out. I like him as an antagonist since he plays that part well, but I don't really see him as a cinnamon roll (even if the actor playing him does have a cute smile). 3) I feel Nie Huiasang is a character that has a lot of varied opinions around him. Because of the role he played in the story, he couldn't be shown as much as the other characters, with you figuring out his part slowly and mostly towards the end. I personally do like him and think he deserved better, but I don't fault anyone for seeing things differently given his role. 4) It makes me sad that you don't like Song Lan, but to each their own. I hope you get to read the novel and maybe understand him better, even if that doesn't change your opinion. 5) Who the f**k says that Jiang Yanli's death was Wei Wuxian's fault?! She made the choice to save him because he was still the younger brother she loved so much. Yes, Wei Wuxian not being able to control the corpses led to her being injured, but that wound was survivable. The killing blow came from a living cultivator, and she willingly sacrificed herself for him. Everyone just blamed him since that was easier than using their already limited brain cells. Also here's my own unpopular opinion: I hate Xue Yang in every sense of the word. And I hate the fact that people seem to ignore the fact that he's a psychopath and ship him with too-good-for-this-world Xiao Xingchen. Like what kind of world are you living in where emotonal manipulation and abuse that drives a guy to suicide (+ murder) is your kind of ideal relationship? Some of you really need therapy and need to read the book again. Yes, Xue Yang's childhood was crappy and I sympathize with that. But one you get to him willingly murdering people for lolz, that's when you stop sympathizing and get to the "I wanna see this guy go down" phase.

I fucking agree with the xue yang opinion. Like I understand that people are going to like 'bad boys' but Xue Yang is a fucking psychopath (And so is JGY). Like when Wuxian looked at him so incredulously and was like, "You killed so many fucking people over a lost finger?" and I was like fucking yes. EXACTLY! And the way he manipulated XXC so badly and people still think that's cute just because he cried over the remains of the person he drove to suicide. He killed people for the fun of it. He helped JGY in his disgusting schemes and smiled about it. Damn, like I know I need therapy but some people need it way more than me. Ngl though I ship him with JGY. Like they actually had a lot of chemistry in the novel and that special chap in the novel which was about them just made me think wow. They're literally psycho killer husbands and nobody can tell me otherwise. Like they would both go out to kill someone in fucking daylight and still come home in time for tea and cake for Xue Yang. And they chill me to the fucking bones. Though this is why I think the both of them are such great characters (and well literally, whether you despise them or not, most of the other characters are too). MXTX has a genius creative mind and I'm all for it.

Ok hear me out. I was sad that Yanli died, but her character lowkey annoyed me. They made her so weak. Like literally every time something bad happened. she'd almost faint. I genuinely thought sis was secretly pregnant or something from the way she was acting 😭 not only that, but whenever Zixuan said anything or was being an asshole to Yanli she just stood there like "👁️👄👁️". I just feel that her entire character was based on her brothers. Even in her death, she died protecting Wuxian. But what about her son who is now without parents? I would have wanted to see her sacrifice herself for her baby rather than for wuxian. Like I know that she loved her bros, but she was a mother now, and her husband just died. I feel that those big life events should have caused her to have some new character development. Development that would not cause her to run out to a battlefield, completely forgetting about her son at home.

Maybe I'm just a terrible judge of character (I do really relate to LXC out of all the cast) but JGY being evil completely blindsided me and kind of broke my heart tbh. After the reveal it made *so much sense* for him to follow the path he did and I was shaking my head at my past self for not figuring it out. I think he is a really compelling and very well-written character. I wonder if he would have been different if he had ever had a scrap of stability in his life. Even though he did do terrible things, I understand his motivations and I think that if just one or two tiny details in his life were altered, things would have been very different. To me he is a very tragic villain.

I loved the ending and I might be the only one for it. Hear me out: in my mind, Wei Wuxian goes back to Lotus Pier and tries to mend his relationship with his family. Now that everyone knows what the heck happened and the one to blame was A-Yao, Jin Ling acts as a bridge between them. In the meantime, Lan Wangji takes care of Lan Xichen the same way he did when his own heart was broken beyond mending. Like a good brother. When Wei Wuxian feels like he has nothing to hold him back anymore, he goes back to Gusu to meet the love of his life and live with no more regrets. He has to make peace with what he has now, the little things, the small family that remains. That's it.

JGY is my second fave character, and not bc of the dimples. Granted, this is more novel than drama, but he's the only powerful character who actually tried to bring systemic change for the good of the common people and to force the sects to do their damn jobs. All the other nobles were too far up their own privileged asses to really care about them. Even the more altruistic ones like the Lans talked big, but they were so caught up in the traditional status quo that they never pushed for any innovative ideas like the watchtowers. So sure, JGY wasn't a very nice person, but I can't really see his death, and especially the manner in which his legacy was tainted by Nie Huaisang's revenge, as a win.

Me too. As I said in an earlier comment, even Xue Yang had redeeming qualities. He was never after money or power like a standard villain. In his early years he just wanted to "have fun" and get revenge on Chang Cian, the man who'd run him over in a cart. Later, at Yi City, he reached a point in his life where he wanted Xiao Xingchen to love him and accept him as part of the little family. That's why XY stopped doing the puppet trick, because XXC had a humanizing effect on him. He was on a redemption arc until Song Lan showed up and threatened to take away the new life that XY was trying to make for himself. I feel very sorry for XY because his love for XXC, though twisted, was very real.

I really was facinated by him since the 4th ep since he reminded of myself when I was bullied back then, and because of that I kept one looking for him and worrying about him, hoping he has a chance of a redemption arc. He didn't deserve the mistreatment from his family and others, sometimes I wonder what would have happened if he were to open up more to others or stay in Gusu that day when he accompanied Huaisang. yes, ZanZan really did a great job with this character. Yao did all these things to take revenge on everyone because of what happened to him. His story is sad, but doesn't justify his actions. Still you pity him, feel sad for him. I think these types of villains (Xue Yang as well) are the best ones, because if a charater is right on evil till the end without remorse and a slight guilt, is boring, but having a villain like these two showing their human side as well, like "ok, we could be good, we could change but the pain we have is stronger", is more difficult to portray and both actors did a terrific job. I mean Hao Xuan palying Xue Yang is spot on. This man (Hao Xuan) is such a sweet, shy man and still he could portray this character in an incredible way ... unbelievable. A true actor, he laid down the solid foundation of his acting career with this role. 😊👏👏🙇‍

I actually think JC's feelings for WQ is an important plot line, but not for the romance. If you carefully watch their interactions, you get deeper insight into both of their characters. From what I remember, when the war is over, they run into each other and JC says something like "I can keep you and your brother safe" bc the remaining Wen clan is being persecuted. But WQ, like the savage she is, says something along the lines of "many of my fellow clan members are innocent as well. Will you protect them or am I an exception?". That scene always stood out to me bc soon after, the fate of the Wen clan refugees becomes the central conflict. We see JC split with WWX over this exact issue bc he doesn't want to risk upsetting the allied clans. Also, the last time the Wen siblings saw jiang cheng, they went to great lengths to help him, risking their own safety. He owes them big time, but he doesn't stand up for them when it matters. Anyway, I think the JC/WQ storyline is good character building and reflects some important themes in the show.

When Xue Yang massacred a clan, Xiao Xingchen was the one who arrested him and gave him away. As revenge, Xue Yang massacred another clan. The clan was Song Lan's clan, eventually Xue Yang gave poison to Song Lan and made him blind. Xiao Xingchen, out of guilt, gave his eyes to Song Lan and left. Basically this is Xue Yang's fault. Nice vid btw hahhaa Nie Huaisang really IS a forgettable in the first half. But after the scene of Nie Huaisang appearing on the tombs. I finally connected some pieces that he's related to everything and not as simple but I didn't know that he was involved in the bringing Wei Ying back process, that surprised me.

I think the ending was definitely the best they could do, but I still don't like it. I mean, Lan Zhan spent 16 years (in the drama) playing Inquiry for Wei Ying. Those 16 years taught him that he mustn't take anything for granted and showed him where his heart lies. And Wei Ying isn't the type of person that puts too much thought on issues. The only reason why the separation would make sense to me is because Lan Zhan became Chief Cultivator for Lan XiChen's temporarily until he got better. I don't see him being Chief Cultivator forever tbh, it's just not Lan Zhan's style. He doesn't talk much, plus, he's in charge of the students back at the Cloud Recesses. They couldn't have Wei Ying move in with him to the Cloud Recesses like he did in the novel because I guess they ran out of time so it would've been impossible to exactly explain why would he move there and what does he do there and where would he live in there as a chaotic person. In the novel, going to adventures with the disciples just makes perfect sense. Lan Zhan and Wei Ying being semi-retired and basically being teachers is too cute that anything else just seems unacceptable 😭😭

Ok now that I have watched the video I dont feel betrayed, I thought the same on almost all of them. Now mine (Its gonna be long): 1- Jiang Cheng actually loved his brother very very much. I seriously dont understand when people say he didnt, he just related every tragedy to Wei Wuxian, thats why he "hated" him, but he forgave him every single time. And that time when he keeps on getting into his and Lan Zhan's way when they were paying their respects to his sister is an obvious proof. Jiang Cheng missed Wei Wuxian and the only way of spending more time with him was fighting, which is also the reason why he was so bothered by Lan Zhan interrupting all the time. 2- Wen Ning > 3- Madam Yu annoyed me SOOO much for 9/10 scenes she was in, but talking back to the Wen maid made her a queen, and that "you were talking about superior and inferior; Im superior and you are inferior" quote is iconic. 4- MDZS has one of the best characters development I've ever seen fr 5- I didnt like Wen Chao because he was a horrible person but seeing him at the end all covered in scars and blood and terrified crying and shouting made me feel bad for him :( 6- Talking about that, get yourself a man like the guard that stayed with Wen Chao until the end lmao 7- Is really nobody going to talk about how in episode 1 Wei Wuxian is doing music with a leaf? Not that I complain, but the first time I was surprised. 8- For some reason that I never understood I kind of shipped Jiang Chen with Zewu Jun from the very beggining and I dont know if thats normal 9- There were some characters that were just annoying, like that man that tries to make Lan Zhan drink alcohol. Its kinda like "remind who are you again?" 10- I didnt really understand Xueyang and Xingchen's relationship. Xueyang hated him too much that letting him die would mean he had nothing to do? Xueyang thought he hated him but after Xingchen's death he found out he was feeling lonely and being with him would mean having somebody? Xueyang was actually in love with Xingchen? And btw, Xueyang wanted to torture Xingchen because Song Lan's father ran over his hand??????

I actually agree with a lot of these opinions! And the ones I don't agree with I still completely understand why you would have them, not everything was perfectly translated from the novel to the drama. The yi city arc, the one with song lan and xiao xingchen, especially was very rushed and not always true to the original story. I sorta agree that the ending was weird, but also there's a lot of censorship in China so I wouldn't be surprised if that had something to do with it. Plus I like to imagine wwx took the time they were apart to rebuild his relationship with Jiang Cheng and Jin Ling, cause in the novel their relationships are left very vague and pretty broken :(

I actually really came around to the ending at about the 5th rewatch (I'm at my 7th by now, so maybe I'll change my mind at the 8th or 9th lmao), because the cultivation world still wasn't ready for the likes of Wei WuXian, and you could see him getting so Tired™‬ of the constant cycle in politicking-of being made into either the world's hero or the world's villain whenever they need him to fill that specific role for them. He's unrestrained by nature (one could even say............ he's untamed? too soon?? ok) I could never see him living a happy life under such heavy scrutiny and with such a massive reputation. I could 100% see the juniors trying to go on ~very extended night hunts~ _just_ to "bump into"/follow around their new eccentric father figure/teacher, or see him visiting Lotus Pier and at least TRYING to reconcile with Jiang Cheng eventually on his travels, and entirely on his terms while Lan WangJi, having worked his damned hardest as Head Cultivator to make this world just a little bit less hellish for his soulmate to return to, eventually does get him back-on both of their terms, when both of them are ready to spend the rest of their lives living together as cultivation partners (which I think is the scene we see at the end). I mean???? literally nothing could keep these two insufferable husbands away from one another for too long, but after the mess that was LWJ's parental situation, the last thing he would want would be to keep WWX bound to him or feel like he couldn't live his best second life, and there's no reason they can't get married and be together and observe a better world at the end of it, after all of their trauma and hardships. There's enough to suggest that they reunite, and that from then on, they could never move their eyes away again... But YEAH sorry I didn't mean to intrude with my unnecessarily long explanation for as to why I think the ending is a Good Ending Actually; I just got way too into this lol. Honestly I wasn't too pleased with it myself on my first watch, but now I have a definitive theory as to what happens in between which matches with exactly what we see in canon, and I think-while they maybe could've clarified it a bit better, I couldn't have asked for a better ending, especially with censorship's interference.

As someone who has finished the books, I actually agree with a lot of these points. The only one I found I disagreed with was the nhs one, but that’s just bc I have a problem. The problem being Nie Huaisang is my favorite character so I always pay attention to him. Which surprisingly doesn’t spoil the plot twist at the end. Heck, I think it made it better. Putting all your love on someone then learning “oh shit, that guy you love killed cats and risked the lives of the juniors!” is a very big revelation. Anyway, I solidly agree on the majority of the arguments made here.

​@@mentinementine310 yeah, and is also sad that people forget how much Wei Ying tried to get his attention at the beginning, only to get rejected multiple times and don't understand how much Wei Ying was struggling psychologically after everything that happened and couldn't care less about feelings in the situation he was in. I guess the tables turned and it was anyone's fault except the people who set this up. Plus he helped Lan Zhan so much and fans always forget that if it wasn't for him, Lan Zhan wouldn't be as he became after meeting Wei Ying. If there's something that Wei Ying has always done, is fighting to make people's life better and happier. It's thanks to Wei Ying if Lan Zhan feels love, hope, believes in someone again, understood the real meaning of life, smiles and makes ya'll swoon with everything he does for Wei Ying after he comes back. The reason is always Wei Ying, even I would die for someone like him if only such a person existed.

I agree with all your points. However i stumbled across the special version for the overseas viewers of Untamed and the ending is different, so you could go watch that. I agree, I forgot who Nie Huaisang was too, in fact, I was like " What plot twist about him... wasn't it all Jin Guangyao?" I did hate JGY too, the actor did a very good job but the faces he made when talking to people made me go like " Are people that blind? His facial expressions say he is a snake...". As for Yanli, that part hurt me the most. I loved her character so much and the author decided to kill her off and in the drama it was kinda stupid. You can't really fight, why not , before jumping into the battlefield, first look for A-Xian ( i mean, he's literally a huge smoke, you can't miss him) and then try to look for a safe( ish) route to get to him? Yelling A-Xian, A-Xian when there are hundreds of people and zombies there yelling ain't gonna do the trick sister. Edit: lol i forgot about songlan. Hmmm, I can't say I have any opinion of it, I found the episodes from the town quite scary so I sort of skipped them 😂😂

Honestly, I didn't really read the novel either since I first watched the MDZS anime, so the drama really surprised me in a lot of things so, here I go :DD 1.) Same. Like I was very in love with the drama ( I still am) but the ending was sorta anticlimactic, like, the drama had so much potential for a wonderful and grand ending and I was confused on why after all those years of waiting, they decided to split up again (I know they didn't but still). I feel like they were trying to go for a somewhat of an angst ending? But it was just too rushed to work I think. Plus, I kinda really like your idea for the ending, and I think it would've been very wonderful to see :D 2.) Honestly, same BXVFBBF but the actor did a marvelous job with portraying him tho! It's kinda like, I dislike the character so much, that I'm actually impressed :DD 3.) Personally, I think he was really forgettable too :(( in the beginning I also thought it was wwx but when I saw the fan, my jaw dropped HCHDHD but throughout the rest of the drama, I feel like it was intended to almost make the viewer forget the fact that the man that gave the gold to the storyteller had a fan, and it worked out perfectly! Also, I'm also kinda sad that in the anime he doesn't get a lot of screen time either :(( 4.) When I found out that wwx and lwj met song lan and xiao xichen before, I was very excited but a bit disappointed in a way? Not because of the fact that they met each other, but I guess it's because I couldn't really get invested or feel song lan's character at all? 5.) I was so mad when a lot of people (in the drama) acted like wwx had intended for jiang yanli to die??? Like, he didn't want that to happen??? I was also a bit frustrated when she literally ran in the middle of the fight, I know she had a sense of urgency, and she wanted to tell wwx that it wasn't his fault that her husband died, but I can't help but wonder how things could've gone if she stayed alive to take care of jin ling :(( Overall, great video! I personally agree with all of your opinions and it has me thinking of a lot of stuff now HAHAHAHAHA

This is going to be big hahahaah first yes I agree with everthing you said (or basically everything), so I'm gonna try to explain my pointo of view 1 - I didn't like the ending too but on my opinion they made the separation because of the chinese censor so it wouldn't look that much as a romantic relationship between them both (so sad, honestly China, why??) 2 - I don't like Jing Guangyao too especially because he manipulated Lan Xichen so bad, and killed Nie Huaisang's brother for basically nothing, and people protecting him ONLY for his looks makes me worried, what I do defend on him is that his life was never easy so I can kind of understand him and his choices (but I still hate him) 3 - NIE HUAISANG MY BABY T-T, but I get your point, he was also really forgetable in the novel to the point I almost forgot who he actually was, and maybe because I read the novel before watching The Untamed, when I watched, I paid so much attention to him and was so happy he appeared more than he did in the novel. But the whole thing was made for the plot twist so yeah (and I also didn't realized he was the guy in the beggining of the first episode haha) 4 - Song Lan is kind of different in the novel, and the relationship he has with Xiao Xingchen was also different (on my point of view). About the eyes (and do correct me people if I am wrong, it's been a while since I read the novel) but if I'm not wrong, Xiao Xingchen gave his eyes to Song Lan because Xue Yang blinded him as an act of revange over Xiao Xingchen, and feeling guilty, he gave his eyes to his friend and I THINK, he kind of ran away. Song Lan doesn't says he doesn't wants to see Xiao Xingchen (again, correct me if I'm wrong). He does goes after Xiao Xingchen because they're best friends after all. And, as far as I remember (and I don't I'm sorry), Xue yang only gets to control Song Lan because he is so suprised on the fact that Xiao Xingchen basically killed him. He's not mad, he was just really sad about it. He even tries to help Wei Wuxian to defeat Xue Yang. 5 - YES I AGREE 100% WITH YOU, but let me explain real quick. In the novel I remember reading that it was one of those corpses that Wei Ying was controlling, that killed Jiang Yanli. Not a soldier/men/cultivator, but I can be wrong. The fact that everyone blamed Wei Ying, was also because they were blaming him about everything, in the novel, they blame him for things that happened even after he was dead, so yeah. I can also understand Jiang Cheng because he felt betrayed when Wei Ying decided to leave them and help Wen Ning and his family, but is shown that the poor boy was just so broken over so much. Also, Jiang Yanli doesn't really run into the batterfiel, we can say that the batterfiel ran into her, she was there to say she didn't hated Wei Ying. As I said again, I agree with you, is just that I feel that the series kind of lacked on explaining things that were really clear in the novel, so I can understand your opinion on that. here's my unpopular opinion: i hated how they changed a lot of things from the novel in the drama, like in the novel wwx never met xxc, he was already dead and he only meet xueyang and song lan while he was in mo xuanyu's place. and they changed xueyang's death (i felt his dead more in the drama bc he was killed by song lan, but in the novel that was no such a thing) they even humanizated xueyang a lot, in the drama he felt guilty when he was dying, but in the novel he didn't regret anything.

Huaisang being forgettable was a genious move on the writer's side, nobody was expecting that plot twist and I love it. But I have to say that I expected a bit more from the revelation scene, because in the drama I got the feeling that they didn't explain it very explicitly and I know some people realized that Huaisang was the mastermind behind all that just because the comments on the episode explained it. But in the end they gave us the movie, so I'm not complaining anymore. It was very nice to be able to focus more on him after knowing what would happen later on in the series.

Actually, the funny thing is that anime and the drama gave more backstory to both xxc/sl and generally the war. It didn't feel weird in the novel that it just skipped over that, but i did enjoy the genre shift in the other media. I think the "romance" take that the novel is is genuinely really cute, but the more "action" take with more plot and more stuff being flashed out was honestly so cool. How did they win the war? Where did the tiger amulet come from? What exactly did wwx do in his cave? Dafuq is this? Dafuq is that? What were they doing for this entire time after the war? How did jc survive being so much like his mother? How did wwx survive it? Am I going mad? How many times have I consumed mdzs related content for the past few months?

the ending of drama was breaking point for me but i was glad to find the thread on twitter that explained ending scene was actually happy ending since the editing of scenes was smartly done to prevent the censorship. after reading the novel i do understand it now as well. also there are so many people who didn't know that wwx didn't have same body & face as his last life?? even i was surprised but later it was explained that the longer his soul posses the body the more it will start looking like the him from the past.

The voiceover makes everything so much funnier. I can’t even take it seriously. Also btw, they really did us wrong with the ending, I was so glad when I read the novel which had a way better ending

I saw somewhere that there was a change in Wei Ying's clothing meaning there was a time skip(?) if you look closely the clothes he had when he parted with Lan Wangji are not the same as when he's playing chenqing
