My life has changed. To think I'd never heard of the Unthanks a mere hour ago.

We'd never heard of them until we heard their truly stunning background music for Worzel Gummidge at Christmas. We are now utterly hooked.

Yes. They'll get you that way. I hope you'll get all their albums. All absolutely wonderful and an amazing live band too. 10 times I've seen them live in 3 years

@@richardrobertson583 We'd love to see them, but the only way at the moment is to go over to Dublin later this year. We'll wait til they're back down the south of England and get an album or 2. Love them a capella or with the fabulous music. Either way, legends.

@@patrickcoffey6575 at the moment I guess there's no new product to promote and Becky and Niopha have babies, well I think they're still under 2 so some time out for new mums. If you're new to Unthanks albums, let me offer a little guide. There are two albums under the name Rachel Unthank and the Winterset. They are 'Cruel Sister' and 'The Bairns'. Four Unthanks albums. 'Here's the Tender Coming' 'Last' 'Mount the Air' and 'Archive Treasures' There's also the four 'Diversions' albums. These are either collaborations or commissioned works. And finally there is the 'Lines' trilogy. Three mini lps celebrating the words of women, usually in struggle or times of war There's also a Dvd of footage but this might be harder to find as it was part of the 10 year anniversary 'Memory Box' collection All are absolutely excellent, but I won't pick a favourite so not to sway you as there's 15 years of work and they are all individual Finally Becky Unthank collaborated on an album called 'Crows Bones' by Martin Green. An unsettling listen but beautiful in its way So welcome to the fan base. There are many wonders ahead for you and enjoy the journey my friend

What can i say? I sailled for 5 years and saw much of the world. My 20+ year partner died last January. He loved all the Worzel Gummidges, that Mackenzie Crook produced. But most of all he loved the music. We played Farewell Shanty st the funetal. Thank you so much Xx

Great appreciation to Unthanks to discover Molly Drake's (Nick Drake's mother's) music and words from so many years ago and perform it.. I don't know anything similar to this.. other than the setting to music of the words left and unpublished by Sandy Denny including the previous words she wrote for her infant daughter before Sandy fell down the stairs in 1978...

Remember talking to someone from Lindisfarne (the band) and they were told they'd never make it in the states 'coz they didn't sound American enough, god knows what they'd make of the fabulous sounds of the Unthanks, they're loss! Long live Northumbria.

A hurdy gurdy is a guitar -like instrument, operated by turning a wheel at the far end.

A great travesty that that the inane advertising material is so insensitivity placed in mid song. Maybe this is just a Google " thing" here in kittle Australia. Thankfully we have all of The Unthanks music without the nauseating ads!!🙄🙄
