I always thought the opposite. I was shocked to find out there were white Jewish people. As a child I always thought Jewish people were middle eastern or black African race because that’s the area Israel is in and in genesis and exodus it talks about them living in Africa in Egypt. When I grew up and found out there were all these white people saying they were Jewish I was shocked.

European Jews didn't start calling themselves Israelites until 1860. The word Jew was first placed in the 1804 edition of the KJ V bible and in every edition since! With the acceptance of the word and people as Isralites, the meaning applied to jew became, 'a person descended from the tribe of Yahudah', which of course is a deception.

Jews have similar religious practises as the Y'sralites did because in the late 8th Century the Euro/Asiati khazars converted to the religion of the Pharisees. They practise torah but from a perverted rabbinic form. For example they keep the biblical festivals inclusive of the Shabbat, but do so from the traditions of the elders! For Shabbat they start it on Friday evening contrary to the torah which says that Shabbat is governed by the sun. Does the sun shine at night? Clearly not! Is Shabbat about cessation from work in order to rest? Yes, it is not about sleeping at night, resting one's body, but ceasing from one's daily work. Perhaps the following may help clear the fog of confusion. "Strinctly speaking, it is incorrect to call an ancient Isralite a Jew or to call a contemporary Jew an Israelite or a Hebrew. First of all Sis, if you are Cape Verdean, you are NOT a Sephardic Jews. YOU are a JEW. People claiming to be Sephardic Jews are NOT Jews at all. Sephardic Jews are mostly of Spanish origin or Middle Eastern, North African/Egyptian descent. NONE of those people are from the stock of the 12 Tribes of Israel. The people who mixed with many of the African Cape Verdeans were Europeans Sephardic Jews but those Portugese and Spanish "Jews" were children of European CONVERTS. Not all black slaves were Hebrews, but many were. On the Transatlantic Slave Trade online records, you can see all the people with traditional Hebrew names(mostly Hebo and Igbo). If you have your DNA tested with the right organization (I had mine done around 20 years ago by Howard University's genetic lab, because it was a tax deductible donation) you will most likely discover that you're Mizrahi (North African Jewish) as a larger population of Louisiana Black Creole's are from that population. @moshe7019. If you do not read the Holy Scriptures you should not be spreading false tales regarding what or who is a Jew. A jew is a descendant of the tribe of Judah. Judah was one of Jacob’s twelve sons and Jacob is the son Isaac, the son of Abraham. Jacob’s name was later changed to Israel and his descendants are called Israelites. It is a bloodline, not a religion. However, The Most High God chose them as His people to who He gave the laws/commandments by which mankind should live. They are supposed to teach the gentiles these laws/commandments and therefore if the gentiles become believers and observe God’s laws, they will be grafted in among God’s chosen people but it will not make them bloodline Israelites.

Being Jewish is a RACE AND A FAITH. Anyone can be Jewish, if they have descendants or converted, or both. I am Jewish partly by race, I do not practice but actually considered Jewish by race since my Grandmother was Jewish and taught Hebrew. I asked a Rabbi if I was considered Jewish, he laughed , and told me I am by race. I love the faith, and the tree of life, it's a lifetime of continued studies and faithful commitment to become a practicing Jew. It is impossible for you to be “ partly Jewish”. It is a legal status. Either you are a Jew or you are not a Jew. What you can parse is your ethnicity. And since Jewish ethnicity is non- existent you should find out the actual name of your ancestors ethnicity. It’s likely Ashkenazi as they tend to try to paint themselves as the prototype for Jewishness when they descend from converts

It would be naive to pretend that Jews of color don't have a unique experience separate from what "white" jews experience. There are many jews around the world that don't fit into the mold of what Americans think of as Jews (ie Ashkenazi Jews). There are many religious and ritual differences between Middle Eastern jews and Eastern European Jews (google Sephardic Jews to learn more). Not fitting into that mold doesn't make them any more or less Jewish, but they still face prejudices and have different histories than "white" jews. Ignoring that reality doesn't do anyone any favors. Educating people on the differences without separating anyone from the tribe is a great way to create Jewish unity and elevate everyone's voice

I actually found your video from asking a question about an anti white TikTok I saw which claimed Jews are actually black ( all of them) so I was trying to research to find out where people are getting this idea that black ppl were the original and only Jewish people which I don't understand as I know my Jewish family history pretty far back. These people are not inclusive talking about the rich history and collection of Jewish people but really just racist views spewed from anti white people who feel it's ok to say anything about one race that they'd never say about any other race. Unfortunately racism along with anti-semitism have become widely accepted. Those claims said in that way is really just anti-Semitic claims. When I was a kid in the 90s and 2000s really seemed we were really close to being largely past race issues for the most part not saying it didn't exist anywhere but those were great years for race relations especially comparing that time to now where all people want to do is talk about race, judge ppl based on race, teach your children to look at skin color. the media and especially with children and young people education is used to push the racial division. I think it goes back to divide and conquer. I really miss the days where it really seemed we were judging people based on merit. Sorry I know this is off topic for your video but that very racist video that made me do some research and find this. Hopefully we can learn to come together before it's too late. God bless.

This video was a nice start however the language can certainly be improved. Would love to see more expansion on “parts of Africa”, feels very vague and empty. Morocco is in Africa. There are many communities there who have been practicing Judaism for hundreds of years in Nigeria, Zimbabwe and more; the Igbo and Lemba are a start. The Lemba Jews from from Southern Africa also have the genetic marker of Kohanim. Also Ethiopia is mentioned much more than just a verse in a Psalm - i.e Moshe was King of Ethiopia for over 40 years. With all this knowledge, “Jewish inspired” to describe the Moorish Zionist Temple feels a bit careless. Why “inspired”? Was is not as Jewish as any base level Reform establishment of the time, if not more? Then, why did they experience such difficulty in being accepted into “mainstream” American Judaism? It would also be wise and honest to note that although figures like Tiffany Haddish are accepted under the Reform branch, she is in fact not considered Jewish under ruling Halachic authorities and the wider scope of the Jewish community outside of reform. She connects her Judaism to her family who is from Eritrea, *another* country in Africa bordering Ethiopia. However, she would have much difficulty joining and asserting her Jewish identity in any basic Chabad house in the United States (arguably the fastest growing Jewish communities here and around the world). I think it would be intellectually honest to not skate over this.

The Chabad, being ultra-orthodox, have a strict definition of who is Jewish. They have to either have a Jewish mother or convert. And conversion is discouraged, exept among peole who are are already Jewish but not ultra-orthodoxed. They feel like Gentiles who convert are just asking for more problems because, in essence, G-D expects more from us. All that said, they do, indeed exept black peole who fit those qualifications. Oprah interviewed a Chabad member who was married to a black Jewish women. Her father was black, and her mother, who raised her, was Jewish. That makes her Jewish to the Chbad, so when she decided to convert to their form of Judaism, they had no problm. And one clearly "white" Chabad man married her. And they had mixrd race children who are also being raised as strict Jews.

Well said and I totally agree about the 'vague emptiness' whenever the video touches on people of African descent having genetic ties to Jews. This video while informative definitely leans into a narrative that the vast majority of black (and by extension african) jews are moreso converts.

The Igbo are one of Nigeria's largest ethnic groups. Among them is a minority of practicing Jews who believe they are descended from the "lost tribes" of Israel. So SOME Igbo are Jewish. The majority are not. To say that, because someone is Igbo, they are therefore Jewish is not correct. Not all rectangles are squares, as it were. There are recognized Judaism practitioners in Ethiopia, and even Israel says they are likely of one of the Lost Tribes. But the West African claims are more complicated to trace. And there's no anthropoligical evidence to support the claim that most of those peoples enslaved in the Atlantic Slave Trade were Black Jews. As detailed above, the majority of Igbo do not practice Judaism. In fact, Nigerian Jews are a greatly persecuted minority by their country. What we're seeing is an uptick in the proliferation of Black Hebrew Israelite doctrine that, basically, all Black people are Jews, and any "white" Jews are imposters who have committed Covenant theft. Neither of these claims is true. There are Black Jews, there are white Jews, there are Jews of every race. But that doesn't mean that every race, or even that all members of one race are the "true" Jews.

The Jews from Loango, or? I guess I am curious because I am only aware of the Jews from Loango in relation to the transatlantic slave trade.

There’s a lot, I do my own research and I know we as Black Americans are indeed one of the tribes “lost”. We were writing cursive Hebrew before the modern day slave owners beat it out of us which is prophecy of Torah.. there are many historians that studied the lost tribes in america which a lot of Jewish Europeans studied and learn most of our practices from them because we still kept the high holy days etc. it’s really interesting how certain people destroyed history but luckily everything was documented.

Biblical Hebrews according to the Abrahams covenant with GOD passed down to Issac, Jacobs and then Jacobs 12 sons have ALWAYS been black. We dont need to mix with white people (lol) or any other culture to obtain our birthright. We were BORN into it. Most of todays Jews are descendants of people groups who converted to judaism hundreds of years ago. Biologically they aren't Hebrew and theres nothing wrong with that. Im not saying they are less then however a everything Ive stated has been proven by History, Ancient DNA analysis and the Bible. On a personal note I do see it interesting that modern jews are attempting to accept us Hebrews in their fold as if we need it lol. Prophecy is coming to past and GOD is with us. Many have woken up and millions more will awake.

That would be logical and make sence jews are scaddered thruout the world. They all would have different colors and cultures. I'm part Cherokee and while I'm 1/16th Cherokee I am still part Cherokee and jews would be the same way. I disagree with the identity politics completely but the cultures and ethnicities are interesting. This video was awesome. Everyone is an individual person. And there only one race. The human race. God made everyone in his image so racism is a man made idea not of God. I love this womans insight. Thank u for enlightening me on something that I didnt really think about till now.
