Yeah I’ve never had a problem with Lecrae working with mainstream artists as long as he stays true to his message. Working with non-Christians and just chilling with them can be one of the best ways to demonstrate the love of Christ to others. And Christian music should never just be for Christians it should be used to help bring others to the Lord.

So.. Its cool to hang out at strip clubs and take my wedding ring off.. Just so I can demonstrate Christ Love.. He took Christian off what he does then started being around secular.. As I said before.. I do Gospel Rap.. I go and get invited to minister at Clubs,Public Schools,Private Schools street corners,shelters, rec centers,jails and prisons.. Not once did I have to downplay being Christian.. Jesus opens doors not music.. If a Christian Rap minister wants to reach the world it doesn't take joining with them.. Just Go to the places with your old music and give them out... Go to the jails ,bars etc...and build a convo with the people as led.. What he Lecrae did was an attempt to be a mainstream artist

Cuevas Walker there you go assuming. Do you listen??? You starting a straw man argument. Have you reached the level as lecrae? It’s easy to go at someone’s temptation if you haven’t been tempted the same way. Do you really understand the Gospel? No one said strip clubs , you did.

I’ve been led astray when it comes to this man; I was one of those being so critical about his transition w/o seeing his vision. I went to the 116 concert in Dallas a couple weeks ago and that humbled me, frfr. That self-righteous will finesse you into deceiving yourself and pushing your conviction unto others. If we truly believe in what we believe, we would pray for those, in elevated positions, that are popular to bash. Big ups to you Crae. 🙏🏾

I started listening to Lecrae in 2010 and still do. His devotion to Jesus has only become deeper. I’ve never understood why critics are mad that Lecrae and any 116 artists are making music with mainstream artist. I’m a medical laboratory scientist. I work with atheists, Hindus, agnostics, and people of all different ways of life. Will I now say that because my coworkers do not believe in Jesus I will not work with them? Absolutely not! How will people see the Gospel unless they have an example of it in their workplaces, neighborhoods, and so on? Lecrae has done a great job in creating with artists that don’t believe in Christ, he’s just doing his job like any other person would when they go to work. As for the racism we see in church, I’ve received a lot of wisdom by simply watching Lecrae’s journey unfold. I’ve come to the point where I spend time with people who love me and the people I know the Lord has appointed me to reach. White brothers and sisters who insist on bashing or criticizing black Christians for speaking against injustice towards the black community are really not mourning with those who mourn, or weeping with those who weep. They’re more concerned with what’s “Biblical” rather than the souls of their neighbor. However, we keep pressing on and thankfully I know some white brothers and sisters who do care about the black community and what’s going on. We need to build relationships with those people like Lecrae mentioned. Thanks Trackstarz for posting a great interview 👍🏾

I didnt first understand when ATWT album came out. But I am going thru something in my life and Christian life right now where I can TOTALLY understand where Crae is coming from, and it speaks to my soul. I started as Lecrae did, just out from being on drugs and a life of hardship to being a zealot for Christ!! And I have been on the spiritual ride for over 20 years and what I have endeared in the church over the last couple years has caused me to back off and go in a place of building walls. I so can understand where Lecrae is coming from. Thank you Lecrae for doing this interview!! Mz Qenii How can we as christians be boxed in? That is very dumb thing people use to compromise. It's not about what we want but surrending your heart to Jesus. That means being obedient to God is better then sacrifice. God leads us to where he wants us to go not us doing what we want. We as christians can't never be boxed in we're actually set free and set apart from the world and the worlds way.

Takes a big man to admit his faults, and Lecrae owned up to his role and responsibilities as a leader in the church community. The things he defended before, he sees the wrong in them. That's why it's good to stand on what's right and not just follow people and accept their ideas just because. Lecrae reminded us that we are watching the cocoon, which is a genius analogy. This is a real man of God. We aren't perfect, but when we mess up, we 'fess up, and God will bless up! God is really using you to impact lives!

"The things he defended before he sees the wrong in them". I believe that's too much of a generalization. I think it was more so about perspective but I get what you were saying. Everything he did or said wasn't wrong, he just acknowledged that some things could have been done better.

He said he never meant to create a stream of followers that said “I’m off chh and into mainstream” he wanted people to keep their devotion while using it outside of just the church. It’s really simple. We’ve created rules in a field many of us don’t even play in. It’s simple: God centerpiece: use the gift to glorify Him: draw people into the kingdom as much as possible by your example. It’s really simple guys. Don’t over complicate the gospel

Love the interview..Crae has discipled me through his music and impacted my life. As well as Kb. If we want to impact this world for christ..it starts with us making disciples...the church is failing in this area. Thats how we bring true change ..by doing as Jesus has commanded.
@JamesMarshallimagesofgrace
@JamesMarshallimagesofgrace 5 жыл бұрын
If the church is failing that doesn't mean we go rogue and live apart from the trenches in concert with the Body of Christ. We stir up another to do good works. We rechurch instead of unchurch. We commune in the faith after we realize we are only part of a whole. This isnt directly toward you personally just to the statement and to the sediment along with the premise that CHH should divorce or show up the church by being its own entity. Lecrae admitted as much that he was young in the faith when he first got into the game...what I don't understand is how the victim mentality was embraced before the repentance mentality in his walk. We all are in a process but when Christ in compromise becomes less of a woe and more of an excuse that's when more damage is done and discipleship is more about image than His Righteousness loved and lived out.

@@Dan-uh1jx absolutely but Jesus didn't communicate that to the ultra talented "Avenger" Christians.. it was to the least.. those that would need to band together for a union in Christ to be shown...not a " my Gospel is cooler than yours" dissention that we see so prevalent today. Look at Acts 2 and see how the church ought to respond after being commissioned and commanded. Their reaction trumps all eras and culture shifts and trends.. They turned the world upside down and didnt have one hit record. Rather they were persecuted because they didn't bow to the worlds way of doing anything.

The issues of the racism was and is a touchy subject. Being a pastor in a mostly white church I think the subject was taboo because it was politicized. Different movements also misrepresented the black voice and so the topic was untouched. I did preach on it and stood up against all racism. I love what Lecrae is doing. I don't think Lecrae fell back from his initial days, while his pre 2011 music was built on being right for God, his present music is built on letting God come in through human fallacy, it's real, honest, and powerful. What people fail to realize is.. Being secular keeps you more boxed in.. Because you have to keep up with a ever changing and destroying culture.. Being saved keeps you out the box. Being a Christian rapper you can rap about whatever you want to rap about because the Bible talks about everything under the sun. Gospel artist chose not to because it wasn't making any money. Today gospel rap is look at as a lucrative business if they are not making the kind of money they feel like they should make they compromise the style and cover it up by saying I'm going to reach the Lost. I do gospel rap and I'm invited to rap in jails speak at bars street corners private schools public schools recreation centers homeless shelters I am around all that stuff without taking Christianity out of what I do. As far as the music if these people want their Christian songs to be played to secular people just go to where they're at go to the bars go to the street corners going to jails go in the public schools and hand out music hand out your old songs and put links for your new songs that they can actually purchase. But after all the compromise and gospel artists are doing right now nobody is buying their CDs outside of Christians. Lastly what bothers me even more so is that these guys aren't saying what the word Christian means and where it came from Christian means christ-like they were called Christians in the book of Acts because the way they lived remind them of the Holy One which is Jesus. Now the lifestyle of Jesus lived was not accepted by the world they hated it because it spoke with so much love truth and conviction and lives were being transformed. Now if I call myself a Christian rapper that means I'm a christ-like rapper then I should be getting rejected by the world not changing so I can fit in the world as says the Bible if they hate you its because they hated me first. The problem is yeah we want Jesus we just don't want to be hated by the world we want to be accepted by the world Jesus was rejected by the world they yell Hosanna then crucify him. We just want the Hosanna the triumphal entry you don't want the crucified so we compromised and unify with evil We have to stop comparing our Christian walk to the success of a secular walk and we keep telling ourselves that the secular World in music those things better than us. Temporarily they do and what they do brings forth no life what we do is in the long run it may look corny and me look pointless the people and people may not see the point of it but I would rather hear well done my good and faithful servant than...this year's gospel artist Grammy award goes to...

People who are religious are boxed in but they are not the Lord's anyway. When the Son sets you free you are free Indeed. I wonder how.many people really know their scripture today? Because if they actually read the Bible to have a relationship with God and seek truth they will find pages and pages of scripture warning us NOT to link arms with the world and the ramifications of that. The Word says that if you are a friend of the world you are an enemy of God.

Collaborating with mainstream artists is cool AS LONG AS YOU ARE SHARING CHRIST WITH THEM. “And what concord hath Christ with Belial? or what part hath he that believeth with an infidel?” 2 Corinthians 6:15 We talk about problems in the church and the new age churches.. my husband and I evangelize in Atlanta and go to the churches on our community and speak to these pastors. One church we went to told us that he had a Muslim speaker come to the church to share HIS faith to combat “Muslim-phobia”?! My question, did you share Jesus with him? The answer - no.. that’s a soul that could’ve been snatched from Hell, but because we try to appease and not offend we are looking more and more like the world. I’m all for the trenches, but make sure you aren’t “existing” with the world. “If sinners be damned, at least let them leap to Hell over our dead bodies. And if they perish, let them perish with our arms wrapped about their knees, imploring them to stay. If Hell must be filled, let it be filled in the teeth of our exertions, and let not one go unwarned and unprayed for.” //C.H. Spurgeon

Crae is good people, I've been praying for him. We all fall short of the glory of GOD. I dont understand why some folks like stare at a helpless man in a ditch instead of helping him out. I'm not saying Crae is the helpless man. I'm saying stop using your hand to point, and use it to reach out and help. Love should always be our motivation. GOD is gonna take him even higher, I pray GODLY wisdom, and direction over his life.

Legalistic Christians always find the fault in someone and they try to bring that person down. I've seen a lot of criticism about Lecrae's approach on things, and these Christians are finding every chance to put him down. I wanna say this and this goes to everyone not just Christians: Don't Criticize someone unless you have been through or done the things he's done. Don't put him down unless you have started doing this type of stuff yourself!! Unless you have tried and failed (which it usually doesn't) don't start using Scripture to put someone down. We should be helping out our brother and encouraging him because he's given he's life to God to be in the Music Industry. Remember, he's one of us. A brother of the Kingdon Family of Jesus. I pray that Lecrae can go far with this Rap thing and I will always be a fan of him and of his music! I can't wait to see the future on what Lecrae has to bring! 🙏👊

Been rocking with him since After The Music Stops. That was one of the greatest chh albums i ever heard and i was not saved. Then i got saved in 2012. I admit I was one of the ones that shunned his new direction and it was more so the way He went about it, but he has since explained his heartbeat and motivation behind doing what he did. He has even stated that he could've went about it a better way accepting responsibility. That commands respect! I salute Crae for his humility and integrity!! I also got chance to meet Tedashii, and again very humble, very solid dude as well. If you can sit here and still hate and throw shade at this guy after he has admitted his mistakes, then you need Jesus!! 💯💯💯

Fun fact. People misinterpret the lukewarm verse all the time. When the verse says I would rather you be hot or cold, it’s not talking about being all for or all against Jesus. Rather. It’s talking about geography. The hot water reference is referring to the church in a southern city where they had access to hot water. The cold water reference is referring to a church in a northern city where they had access to cold water. The church from the city in the middle only had access to lukewarm water. In order for them to get hot or cold water they would have to travel to the neighboring cities. I don’t remember the names of the cities, but you could probably look it up and find it pretty quick. The churches who had access to hot and cold water were following the gospel well and were serving Christ. The church with access to lukewarm water was not following the gospel. So When the verse says be either hot or cold, it’s really saying be like the churches from those cities. When it says don’t be lukewarm, it’s really saying don’t be like the church from that city. So the verse is really saying be all for Jesus. But if you are all against Jesus, god will spit you out of his mouth. God will accept your half efforts and attempts to please him.

( I copied my original comment I wrote on the Mineo interview) The problem that alot of us had was CHH seemed to be the only title that bothers them. When they came up and build their following then built it on Romans 1:16 which talks about not being ashamed of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Obviously it was a slow grind, but they kept pushing and eventually started to break through to the mainstream. Then all of a sudden we started to hear them say, " I don't want to be boxed in, I'm not a Christian rapper I'm a rapper that's Christian. Alot of places wouldn't let us in because they think our music has only 1 topic and that's Jesus." It caught us by surprise and next thing you know they are working with artists that don't rap about Jesus. And the more they pushed away from the title CHH the bigger the artist became. Now I think its dope that they touch on current news and topics that can get uncomfortable and even personal battles that they have. Most of the original fans didn't like the Woke Lecrae, Andy and the whole Reach records crew, but I like that they gave their opinions because they are subjects that could shape how their fans view them. To sit there when you have a voice and ignore all the wickedness going on around us is detrimental to the ones that need to hear the truth about God and his mercy and grace and that He is the only one that can change a bad situation into something that He can get the glory for. After all the ways they were pushing the title away it felt like they started to be ashamed. Obviously they took and still take heat for that situation, but it all became clear when they started talking about their battles with their faith. We all fall short of the Glory of God and we have all struggled with doubt at some point in our walk with Christ, but you grow from it depending on how you handle it. To me that was a turning point because their content became more personal which opened alot of people's eyes and made them realize that just because they are rappers don't mean that they are perfect. Its impossible to be while we are in this flesh. God's mercy and grace kept them through those struggles. You can tell if a artist really believes by the emotions blood sweat and tears they went through to get to where they are now. Being in the spotlight they are in, its alot of pressure and there are times we buckle under pressure, but at the end of the day God is still God. And He is using their testimonies to reach people going through the same struggle and every other struggle that we have. I'll always support their music financially because there are people out there that need to hear about God especially in this wicked world we live in. People just have to understand that all the cch stuff came out of nowhere for most of us. We didn't all handle the situation good, but God is still God.
