How shorting 140% of the float could be potentially legal ? there is no way to have 100% of the stock available to borrow nevermind 140% . It written in huge bold red font on the wall "CRIME"

It’s crazy right? How it happens is Shares that are borrowed and sold short can be bought by other investors who might lend them out again. This creates a situation where the same shares can be lent and sold multiple times, leading to a short interest that exceeds 100%.

My buddy doubled his money on gme. He only put in a few hundred dollars on it, then when it doubled he sold half of it to recover his initial cost. He made out pretty good. He tried to go back in a few days later and lost $43.

The mistake most people make is they get Too greedy and even a 4x-10x ROI isn’t enough for them to take profits and they don’t sell until it’s too late and the price crashes instantly

Gamestop had a huge breakout before roaring kitty tweeted... Look at the chart.. Broke out of a 3 year down trend closing above 17.50. Thats when i bought in.. Was obvious to me it was going to pump.. And thats when roaring kitty bought back in then tweeted.. So while he certainly caused alot of momentum he isnt the sole cause foe this run

@@kjwbr7745 yeah AMC doesn’t seem to have much momentum, although still up compared to prior month it’s no where near the current catabolic strength going on with GME currently. The momentum, news, and 20% reported short float could be worth watching for GME specifically

When the GME thing was happening a couple of years ago I bought a few shares and it immediately dropped. When there was that little rally a few weeks ago, I sold. Got out slightly in the positive. Last time I piss about with that bullshit.

It's good of you to remind people to be careful. I started buying in a few weeks ago, and have told myself that I'm fine with loosing money on amc and gme. But what if it gets to even half of what happened last time? That would be a nice profit for me. I'm gonna wait and see what happens after tomorrow's stream. Current goal is to get just above even and hope the rest goes to moon!

There is no altruism in the stock market, no matter what you have been lead to believe. You are not defeating “Wall Street”. You are taking money from someone else just like you until eventually someone waits a little too long and is left holding the bag. We don’t invest in the value of a meme stock, we trade the value of them to make a profit. Kinda Like sneakers.

It is such a naive take to think that short interest reporting should be taken seriously. Shorts don't have to report if they are good with getting the fine later for failure to report and it is in their best interest to not report their shorts especially on this stock.

If the shorts fail to report, as you mention they can just cover the fine; however with regulations they can lose ability to trade in the market and also get sanctions well above and beyond a fine. That said though - not reporting on something like GME could be why there is a lot of push for investigation and the overall market momentum. Thanks for adding the insight in your comment!

Totally understand your frustration; however halts (aka circuit breakers) can be a good thing, it all started after the 1987 crash (Black Monday) where the market dropped 22% out of no where. Would be nice if we could halt to the downside but not halt to the upside!

@@BobSharpe I agree with that, becuase halting while stocks might rise is in my opinion corruptions, as some hedgefunds might then loose money. Halting while falling, would make more sense if you want to get a softer landing, rather then preventing retail investors making some money

There is a slight difference, where Covering: When discussing the GameStop squeeze, many short sellers covered their positions to mitigate losses as the stock price skyrocketed. This involved buying back shares, contributing to the upward price momentum. Closing: While covering indicates the action taken to buy back shares, closing would mean those short sellers completely exited their short positions, with no further short interest in GameStop. So based on short interest today + dark pool short interest you’d have to decide if there is still enough open positions to warrant a significant squeeze above and beyond what occurred in Jan 2021

@@BobSharpe Short hedge funds can keep covering as long as they pay to cover, it costs us nothingtohold...If/when they receive a margin call and are forced to close their positions bcuz of liquidity issues is when the moass will happen bcuz no one will sell their shares until the price reaches life changing numbers or the hedge funds go bankrupt...They sold us borrowed shares multiple times the float...This is why people are upset

@@BobSharpe Hedge funds sold us multiple floats of borrowed shares...As long as they hav the money to cover their positions we will hold...When they are margin called is when we will diamond hand until the price reaches life changing numbers or until each hedge fund that shorted GameStop goes bankrupt...I believe 3 or 4 hav gone bankrupt already, starting with Melvin Capital
