I worked at McDonald's in the late 80s. Back then the prices were relatively less and the burgers were at least 30 percent bigger. And the quality of the food was better. Everything has gone downhill nowadays. The food is poor quality, IMO, the burgers are small, and the prices are high. I think the only reason people still go to McDonald's nowadays is because of the name and prior reputation and brand loyalty. If McDonald's was a new company, it would probably go out of business.

I was 15 & in 94 flipping burgers, remember they did. 25cent burgers & .35 cent cheese burgers. Happy meal size but I gored on the hamburgers.

@@vadoraid2517 I remember when you could get a whole Big Mac combo meal with fries and a drink for $2.99... Now it's like $10. But they had the dollar menu not that long ago,maybe less than ten years ago, where you could get a spicy McChicken or cheeseburger for $1.

Just my opinion, but I think McDonalds has really lost their way over the past dozen years or so. I do not find them nearly as consistent from location to location as they had been, not as clean and employees not as friendly. I feel their training and high standards are gone.

Their food is secondary to their real business and that is Real Estate....that's right ...Real Estate....they learned early to buy the land and buildings that will be serving their food....if a Franchise fails they step in and operate as a company store ....find a new operator or just sell the building and land....either way...they make a profit....

I always buy them when ever I’m low on dough, and honestly they’re not that bad. I usually add some extra toppings like i can put mayo on the buns and also mustard and ketchup and lettuce, tomatoes and an extra slice of cheese

The beginning of the video gave McDonalds way too much innovation credit. They didn't originate the drive-thru. A local place in Springfield MO was the first in 1947, with In-N-Out starting with them in 1948, and Jack in the box opening their first restaurant in 1951 based around the concept of a drive-thru. McDonalds first drive-thru didn't come until 1975. As to self-serve kiosks, they were first invented for a university hospital in 1975, but for different reasons than food ordering. I'm of the opinion that they're a bane to restaurants because I've noticed that if you do need help at the counter (if the kiosk is down, you need a request the kiosk can't handle, you're there to pick up a call in order, etc...), you just get ignored because the employees are all working the drive-thru and the counter gets ignored because... ...obviously people will use the kiosk if they need anything.

Today, their food is garbage. Uncooked food, wrong orders...and the only fast food burger my large dogs would never eat. Also, for the same money I can eat a dine-in meal with full service - cooked to order. I think I have been in a McDonald's three times during the past 22 years!

I started a new job that has a McDonald's just a couple of blocks away, so I would eat lunch there every day because I could walk there and it saved time. After a little over a month I had a check up appointment with my doctor and not only had I gained ten pounds my blood work indicated I was borderline prediabetic. It's been about since I've eaten there and I've lost the extra weight. My next appointment is next month and we'll see what my blood work says.
