While I ❤🧡💛💚💙💜 EVERYTHING about Elton John from EVERY song to EVERY costume hes written or worn, I'd have to say that his 🦆DONALD DUCK 🦆 costume was the best. Actually that concert was my first time hearing his music so at 6yrs old I became a fan and at 42yrs now I love him just as much...if not more. He came to Maine last year and it sold out before I could even get a ringtone at the ticket place. It's like the one that got away. I'd give ANYTHING to have another shot at seeing him live. Just sayin'

My humble opinion is that the best custom my Elton ever wore was the white suit with the white feathers on the shoulders oh my God he is so hot in that I'm still standing

I love love LOVE Elton John!! I'm grateful to live in a time when so many musical geniuses have existed. Elton John is one, and Bernie Taupin's lyrics are more than inspirational.

Are you kidding with this? I have known Elton’s story almost all my life. I have also listened to Rush Limbaugh since 1992. When Elton was asked why he would play at Rush’s wedding, he said “I believe in building (Metaphorical) bridges, not (metaphorical) walls”.

And Rush knew Elton was going to donate the money to his AIDS charity. What, did you think Rush would have stiffed him?

I believe that some of these stories aren’t so untold, like his relationship with his mother, the work ethic with Bernie, and the classes he took in the Royal Academy. They were mostly told within Rocketman. But I guess it’s all about perspective

Elton could make a song out of the Gettysburg Address. There is always a song on an Elton John album that I never hear anywhere else, i.e. "The Emperor's New Close." I wonder if that's by design?

I saw "Rocketman" only a few days ago. It is extremely psychedelic and like a rock opera. The loud musical numbers are overdone. It seems to distort much of the true story of Elton John. It depicts Elton John as being about 11 years old when he first started playing piano, but from what I read decades ago, Elton was a toddler when he just walked up to the family piano and started playing skillfully. The movie also skims over Elton's youth and teen years. It does depict Elton's father as distant but the character of Stanley Dwight ( Elton's biological dad) is so opaque and the excessively overdone musical numbers take away from the chronological story-line. Also I found it odd that Elton's mother Sheila was depicted as a woman who looked no older than about 30 years old throughout most of her life until much later in the film where she is depicted as looking like she is about 45. I recall seeing a photo of Elton's mother back in the mid 1970s when Elton must have been in his very early 30s or very late 20s and his mother did not look like she was 30. Spoiler alert, Rocketman was essentially about Elton's struggles with alcohol and drugs and his torment over NOT having a close relationship with his father . In the past Elton has said that his father was strict with him . The movie does not actually depict that. Also the character of Bernie Taupin is essentially just a necessary bother, a prop in the movie. Not much about him is depicted other than the very necessary parts such as how he and Elton met and how they worked together to write songs. Furthermore, the movie is some 2 hours and 1 minute long. It could get more done and be a more effective bio-pic if it was shorter and more direct. Also Elton had a point in this life when he took up residence with a woman who was dating an abusive midget who beat her up and the woman in turn beat Elton up. There is only a quick shot in the movie depicting Elton moving into the house with the woman and there is literally only one quick shot of the midget who was her boyfriend. Elton, made a half-hearted attempt to kill himself by putting his head in a gas oven once. It was very early in his music career but Bernie Taupin came in the room and pulled him out of the oven and yelled at him for making such an attempt but the fact was that Elton left the windows open and was not entirely serious about taking his own life. The movie Rocketman, depicts Elton as attempting to kill himself by jumping into a swimming pool while drunk and disoriented at a poolside party. I am not sure if this also happened besides his gas-oven attempt years back. It was an enjoyable movie in other respects. The sex scenes were absolutely unnecessary.

one second of thought with half your brain tied behind your back would yield the ridiculousness of unfounded claims of homophobia on the part of rush limbaugh at 3:35. why would a homophobe hire a gay man to sing at his wedding?? not only is itt fake news, it makes no sense. think, people!
@goldilox3695 жыл бұрын
Actually, Rush is a homophobe. He hired Elton because it was his bride's favorite performer. Basically, a symbolic gesture to say 'this is how much I love this woman...' Not fake news.

@@goldilox369 felt i wanted to elaborate. There was a time in America when Democrats and Republicans, conservatives and.liberals, could disagree on policies and maintain a civil conversation. In today's hyper-partisan society, everyone is cowed into submission by the fear of labels - especially racist, homophobe, and a few others. For those of us who are paying attention, it has become the story of the boy who cried racist. The words have become meaningless, and are shamelessly misapplied. The left has, for many years, tried to paint Limbaugh as a racist (despite the fact that his producer for many years was black), homophobe, etc. But if anyone bothers tp listen to him, it's not what he's about. He's a political commentator and entertainer. He is not about hate. One theme he is about is hard work and excellence, as exemplified in his company name, EIB - Excellence in Broadcasting. It is possible that he may disagree with gay activist groups and leftists on policies. In the new dark age of hyper-partisanism, if you disagree with the far left on policies, you are a homophobe. Or a racist. Or a xenophobe. And most politicians and media people will meakly apologize for their offense, no matter how non-offensive it was. Freedom of speech is in danger. The new media rewards right-thinking and punishes wrong-thinking. Even if there was nothing wrong with the statement.

I remember as a child listening to the Yellow Brick Road album as a child. I remember feeling great darkness while hearing. This was my brother’s album and I didn’t know anything about his personal life, but The Holy Spirit knew all things. I had no idea how twisted he really was. I hope he finds true peace and a true connection with God. I was only twelve years old and felt these things. What did more mature people in God know? 🙁
