Granted, sidewalks aren't safe either. lumberjacks have one of the most dangerous jobs in the world (~1/200 chance of death on the job). Their job is to make heavy objects fall. Have you been around large falling objects? Have you seen the insurance rates for anyone working around cranes/forklifts. My grandpa's company pays ~60$/hr in insurance per employee because cranes and forklifts. If they didn't have those, I believe the rates would be ~20$/hr.
