From someone who worked for Red Bull for 6 yrs, a lot of your facts in this video are fairly accurate. But the most major thing you left off is that - Red Bull owns Distribution companies which is what brings in the revenue that allows Red Bull Global to do all of those wild and crazy events. This causes a draw back for those who work for the Distribution Company however, those at Red Bull Global (Red Bull North America in the US) is that there is such a disconnect and the way employees are treated declined over the years as Red Bulls overall revenue increased - it turned into a greed for money at the employees expense. This has caused hundreds and maybe thousands of loyal employees who loved and supported the brand to transition to other brands and even industries where they were valued and compensated for their experience. Hopefully one day the Global team in Austria realizes what has happened and turns back the pages and supports their employees more.

This video however made me think, I should try a red bull soon because somehow I have never tasted one. I never paid attention to Red Bull until they created _Red Bull Wololo_. I was like: Why would a massive company like RB create and host a tournament for such a niche game like Age of Empires 2? But not only that, it was the BEST AoE2 tournament, with such a sleek and *professional* feel to it unlike any I'd seen before. As the video said, they not only _sponsor_ stuff. They create stuff, and it's _cool_ stuff, with respect to the sport/art before anything. That's like, actually awesome for a company.

To be honest, while I am peripherally aware of Red Bull and some of the stuff they do, I've never cared for (or even tried) their product, nor even followed any of their events. Even after watching this video, I fail to see how they "take over the world". They're just one insignificant player among many., despite an apparently huge marketing budget.
@ianstobie
@ianstobie Жыл бұрын
Yes, this video provides no evidence that Red Bull is "taking over the world". Perhaps Max Verstappen will achieve a second world championship this year with the Red Bull Formula 1 racing team. But the core brand, the energy drink that managed to beat the venerable British brand Lucozade to top spot when this was a neglected beverage niche, is likely to fade. Because now Red Bull is facing competitors with big money behind them, notably Monster (partly owned by Coca-Cola) and Rockstar (wholly owned by PepsiCo).
@Andisepp
@Andisepp Жыл бұрын
@@ianstobie Coca Cola already tried to get a big player with their energy drinks in europe and japan with the brand "burn". Rockstar is at the moment not really a threat for Red Bull. Monster is a big player particularly in the US, but worlwide RedBull is bigger espacally more known. Monster, Rockstar and other brands are on the Market for 20 years and Red Bulls profit is still growing. There are a lot of big Brands out there which are producing Cola but i also dont see Coca-Cola fade.

They have success with Sponsoring many athletes and make them Superstars. It also helps they host events for the public to participate in. I remember some peeps handing out cold redbulls in front of my uni a few times, we'd actually spread the word to get down and get some, everyone was sleep deprived, and those who didn't drink it that day would save it for the next. I also think I got one or two on a festival. While those things are cool I just simply think redbull is about the best energy drink easily available to me. Works best and has the best "base energy drink flavour" IMO. I remember them coming to Poland too, must have been like 2005, maybe a bit earlier, the ads were everywhere and it just made people this it's THE energy drink and to be fair the energy drink game before that was weak here so it was the energy drink to get.
