she is right about the arabization thing. North Africa was always majority Berber but because of Arabization many Berbers started to identify and forget their Berber roots. It is sad. Inshallah many North Africans start to care about their Berber heritage and learn the language I hope.

@Phase Atrix no ,it wasn't forced ,since noth africa are consider muslim and arab country ,arabic was the first language and France was the second language bc the France colonization to north Africa,Berber was more like dialect than a language,it wasn't written until recently so ppl didn't feel like it was important to learn it ,but berber has big influence on dardja (spoken dialect)we use a lot of spoken Berber words in our daily life

Phase Atrix no it was forced arabization my people got hurt murderd we got separated we got called savages and thugs by the old kind our language wasn’t official until 2011 and we existed before the 7th century before arab people came to our land childeren are getting teached in arabic while they don’t understand arabic the king also doesn’t built hospitals etc in our areas we protest if it wasn’t forced why do we protest this is not about islam we are happy with islam but islam does not mean erase language and culture please stop with this ignorance educate yourself!

@2003grrrl4 жыл бұрын
fati summer first of all its amazigh berber is what the arab and romans called us it comes from the word barbaric which is a bad word we are amazigh which means free people our language isn’t a dialect it’s an official language and that language itself has many different amazigh dialects we have our own words we have our own writing system and we are the natives majority of us is muslim but there are still a few christian ones in North Africa and the jewish amazigh went to Palestine to practice their religion we existed before the 7th century educate yourself!
@mirandapillsbury78854 жыл бұрын
@Phase Atrix She gave you false information. Berber was a language that predates Arabic in North Africa. It is NOT a dialect and does not resemble Arabic at all. There are loan words though in the language because both cultures mixed for so long. Berbers are proud to be Muslim they just want to preserve their language as well and their culture. Berber was illegal in schools and not taught or officially recognized until 2011 in Morocco. There used to be no road signs in Berber language and there was no effort by the government to protect the language and culture hence why there was Arabization as many Berbers felt the only way to advance as a people would be to abandon the Berber language and identity and then adopt an Arab identity instead. Please do not take Berber activism and search for recognition as them being anti Arab or anti muslim. Berbers are VERY proud Muslims and they do not hate Arabs. They just want to make sure their identity, language and culture continues to exist.

The Moroccan Berbers are an ethnic group indigenous to Northern Africa with a very interesting culture and history that has traditionally been passed down orally for many years. However, due to the spread of Islam and arabization of North Africa, the Berber culture and language has eroded and been lost to some of their own. Now, there is a young generation of Berbers who are discovering this culture that they didn't realize was part of their own family line. One of those people is our Half-Korean, Half-Moroccan Berber friend, Firyal. Are you Berber? We hope you find hope and meaning in this video, as we keep the culture alive.

Hell no that is arabian or islamic. the men can only marry 4 and even that it comes with strict conditions and its not something one can just easily marry two and more just because you want it. @@nora7440 Marry more than one had a reason behind it,in wartime a lot of men died ,so the number of women was so much bigger than men, there were widow women and orphan kids,and at that women could not stay without a supporter , they will end up as prostitutes,so Islam allows men marrying more than one women and he will take responsibility of taking care of her and her kids, but he has to qualify to do that, one of the condition is to get his first wife permission, and yes there women who allow their husbands to have the second wife , nowadays there aren't a lot of people who do that since it's not really needed

@@fatisummer9106 so sick ! Thank god this is not permited in my country
@caesta71684 жыл бұрын
@@nora7440 So sick? Did you even read his text? A Muslim man who wants to marry two or more women needs to get his wifes permission first, like the brother/sister above mentioned. After the marriage, he must treat them equally, fair and just. If he cannot do that, then he is not allowed to marry more than one woman. Men used to be soldiers back then. So most of the women were widowed with no one there to support them, to feed or to protect them, they even had children. So instead of letting them die in poverty or to go astray from the religion, Allah in all his wisdom allowed men to marry two or up to four women.

Wow, it is so fascinating how many halfies all over the world had parents who married decades ago when it was more taboo or less common to marry between different races. Amazing to see these couples surviving and making a family regardless of cultural differences, languages, and boundaries. I would love to see how these families eat and fuse two cuisines in their daily dinner table. 😁🤗 I see Korean facial traits on her face, but not familiar with Berber traits to tell. I can hear Korean and Italian accents when she speaks. She knows probably 4 languages fluently, and can most likely understand decently 2 more. Wow 👏 🤯 My kids will be halfies also, Viet/Korean.

She looks 100% Asian. It's interesting because I've noticed that some Moroccans already look like they have Asian ancestry (one obvious example is Pokimane but I've also seen others on Korean KZbin channels). I wonder if the ancestors of early East Asians came from Morocco or are somehow related to them.

@Das steht in der Sternen You are only Muslim because the Arabs conquered North Africa centuries ago, otherwise you wouldn't be. North African doesn't equal being Muslim, Amazighs have their own identity and beliefs. :)

Das steht in der Sternen its not mandatory to learn Arabic and why do you always say that having an amazigh identity is hating Arabs. Doesn’t she have to get mad because people confuse her for something she isn’t? You wouldn’t be happy to be confused with a Brit or a Norwegian either so stop expecting people to be proud of your identity taht is m’n theirs

I just love how bubbly she is. Some ppl think being mixed race is bit burdensome, but being mixed myself i found more advantages. Seeing the world from multiple views not just a black n white/right n wrong kinda perspective. I got (a pint of) Dutch in Mom’s side n Chinese on Dad’s side but both of my parents hv bigger (Borneo’s) indigenous blood in them. I do look more Chinese but sadly apart from some Chinese ‘localised’ words/phrases, i don’t speak any Chinese at all. I love how she identify herself as ‘colorful/multicolor’. How gray life wud b if its just black n white, rite?😅✌️❤️

Lovely interview! Such an interesting background and life experience. I lived in Spain for a year and would go over to Morocco every chance I got. I just loved it! Especially Fez. Went skiing in the Atlas mountains! Your English is great, Firyal! I was wondering where or how you learned to speak it so well? All the best!

Its normal. As a thanks to Allah. 1 sheep for a girl and 2 sheeps for the boy. The people make great meals to share it with the family and the poor people also.
