Got this for work as a diesel oil/tire tech and I will say it stands up to oil/grease/diesel really really well, every time it gets covered I just run it under the sink and wipe it off. Have to charge it every 2 days or so and it works perfectly for every day use in rough conditions

I preordered the PD35V3.0 upon it's announcement. Received it in a very timely manner. Fenix customer service is awesome. I had been carrying a UC35V2.0 since 2018 and since I am in construction and maintenance, I use it heavily. Could not be more impressed. Reliable and powerful with a massive output of concentrated light. Even on the lowest service setting of 50 lumens, point it straight up at the ceiling in a room without lighting installed and it is an instant room light bright enough to do work in. The PD35V3.0 is just as awesome.

I've been using the earlier version of the pd35 rated at 800 lumens or so since about 2019-ish and it's been a tough, reliable workhorse...but this v3 light on Turbo is unreal. I'm never without a fenix light. 800 to 1000 lumens is enough for edc in my opinion...this one at 1700 may be over-kill but it makes a guy smile. Friggin awesome. Nice review, very accurate...well done! .

Fantastic review, thanks. I particularly liked how you spent so much showing the modes in the dark. It is after all a flashlight. Completely agree that the lack of USB-C and not having the charging port on the outside isn't great. Otherwise it's a solid light.

I run two of them one on my AR-15 and the other one of my 12 gauge both are a thousand lumens and work just fine for me Bank Street guns recommended this light to me here in Arizona. And it is met my standards and they took the recoil just fine and I got a good deal on one at the same store 28 bucks and of course a couple of dollars more for the quick-release mounts but it works perfect

I still feel the pd35 tac was the perfect all around carry/tactical light. I loved the spacing of the output levels much more; more useful in my opinion. Also perfect balance between hotspot and spill. It’s a shame they felt the need to discontinue the tac version. Good thing I picked up three of them, still carry that light all the time. Good review, well done!

Construction worker here. Any lights that can withstand sawdust, paint chips, welding arc smoke, filthy grimy hands covered in machine oil, and angle grinder dust for months on end passes the crucible. Fenix lights definitely pass the test. I am a hardcore Fenix adherent. No Fenix tool or battery has ever failed on me.

Thanks for the quick comprehensive review that included the buttons. I EDC the small E18R and love it. Especially the press and hold strobe which give a potential tactical edge. Don't like that the PD 35r has no side switch use at all when off. And the micro USB only on the battery is a fail that will make me skip it.

Hello Mr. Fenix tactical flashlight is very high quality, especially the LED. I believe it is possible that this Fenix tactical uses LED type TFS-40. The hot spot I see looks more tinted and sharp.If compared to xhp35 cree HD and sst-40. I think, the EDC MH12SE tactical flashlight is already out on the market. The distance is up to 400 meters and uses SFT-40 LED. If the Nitecore MH12 SE model already on the market in the US, please review the model if you don't mind :). Thank you and I really appreciate it. The sound of the music is good and I like the sound of the background music while Mr. did the flashlight test.

@BlueSkyCountry
@BlueSkyCountry 2 жыл бұрын
@@reahs4815 This right here. Fenix has really knocked it out of the park by integrating smart circuitry and battery malfunction safeguards into their lights that can detect a battery defect and stop operation if so. High lumen lights are not toys and my 1000 lumen UC35 and 1700 lumen PD35 can permanently damage retinas on maximum output. I ONLY use a smart charger with the 18650 batteries that I use in my lights that detect and display charging status, how much power is going in etc. I do construction and maintenance and I have to crawl, stoop, kneel, and squat in dark and dangerous environments with loose wires, exposed nails, debris, and hazardous chemicals all the time and the last thing I want to happen while working is to have an equipment failure.

Not being able to get to instant high or turbo from the tail cap switch as a memory mode dual switch light makes it useless as a work light or tactical light. Who wants to have to reposition the light or free up your other hand when you need more light than what you have memory set at? Fenix was my first nice high powered light many years ago and I loved it. They are falling behind the curve though. Just like Maglite but a little slower.

@@greekveteran2715 I had the Fenix PD40R V2 and the LR35R. The PD40 could only hit and hold turbo if the battery was 85% or over and the rotary dial become lose after a month. Sold it cheap. I am looking for another EDC to replace my lost original PD35 which at the time was a great thrower with bright spill. I have a TK15 UE that easily lights up trees over 100 yards away, and has a nice spill as well. At doesn't look like the PD35 V3.0 will actually light up the trees at 100+ yards.
