Filmed this one on a very small side stage at Warped Tour. This has to be one of the few shows filmed that Greg Bester was playing guitar live on. The was a month after their debut album came out and a lot of people had no idea who they were.

Thrice were out of bounds amazing. We worshiped them. Teppei lent his cab to me every day with without hesitation cuz they played either before or after us on the Maurice Stage. This was because our speaker cabs weren't able to make it onto the trucks due to space constraints. We had to borrow every day. It's just the nature of Warped Tour which is akin to a flea circus. But what a gentlemen and a scholar he and his band was/were.. To this day I love their music not just for what mastery it is but because they were kind to me. Some might think that the music business is vacuous and shallow. The guys from Thrice showed me it's not. I will love and support them forever. You can take that from the horse's mouth. The music business can be pure and I can tell you that trait is found in rock music. Over and out.

I remember warped tour like this. Small gatherings for epic upcoming bands. Saw the Used like 5 times at warped tour. Like $40 bucks a ticket. Spend all day in the summer sun in California listening to amazing bands. Now I tried to get tickets for last year’s warped tour and tickets were like $500 and up. People ruin everything

@@BradNolanVideographydevastating. One of my biggest regrets. My brother was in town visiting, I had just played a gig and didn't want to go, but everyone was like, "COME! It's your brother's last night!". I came and had a party and then boom. Car broken into and both the guitar and my amp stolen. $3000 mistake.
@MangoJerry937 ай бұрын
What Amps did you use on stage when you would play live with them?! I'm super interested! 👀
@gregbester38557 ай бұрын
@@MangoJerry93 a first gen Dual Rectifier with a full size slanted Mesa 4x12 loaded with V30s. Pretty standard fare for the early 2000s. Although what you're hearing here is probably Teppei from Thrice's Marshall cab because we didn't bring our cabs with us on Warped Tour due to space problems in the trailer. We had to borrow lol. Pedals were a Boss DS-1, a tuner pedal, a volume pedal, and a Line 6 MM4. And of course the standard footswitch for the DR. Nothing too fancy. My backup amp was a Laney GH100L but the Dual Rectifier never broke, night after night so the Laney banged around in the trailer for a whole year. Quinn used it once when his DR died one night. I still have it to this day and it's my only amp now. It's driving a '74 Marshall 1982A cab loaded with 55Hz Creambacks. It's basically an old Marshall bass cab that makes it sound even better than the DR, if you ask me. Anyhoo, hope all that is interesting enough! Cheers :)

Most crowds today are attentive, too. Kind of a dumb comment. Except for crowds that jump and mosh around, instead of enjoying the show.
@xBlackenedxBloodx3 ай бұрын
@armysniperman80 It's a dumb comment to say moshing and jumping around isn't attentive to the music and not enjoying the show 🫠. That's just like saying people who dance aren't being attentive too 🙃. Also, what about people who are legally blind and may not be able to see everything going on on stage? are they less attentive? No, because the concert goer experience differs from person to person. I wrote out that comment a year ago because it was a nice change to not see hundreds of phones in peoples' hands at a concert, like you commonly see at shows in present times. I have to say that it definitely does depend on where you live.
@armysniperman802 ай бұрын
@@xBlackenedxBloodx And its dumb to say people who record songs on their phone arent living in the moment, or being attentive. The best memories I have from shows are from when Im sitting down actually enjoying them.
