The USGI Boonie Hat

Boonie hats are a must have for sunny outdoor activities. Their light, portable, and protect your head, face, and ears from the sun. You can roll them up and put them anywhere, and scrunch up smaller than a baseball hat.
They come in all colors and camouflages and be found for cheap (~$20). The commercial ones vs. military surplus hats are essentially the same price. In some cases, made by the same manufacturer. But if you want the real deal, watch this video. I'll give you simple tips on how to find military issued hats.
note: This was filmed on my iPhone 15 in 4K instead of my Canon DSLR w/ attached mic. I think it looks a bit better, but please let me know. If so, I'll be using it for future videos until I upgrade my camera.

Have a huge collection of GI boonie hats that I’ve been collecting for many years going back to that 1969 ERDL woodland Vietnam issue. Also I have bout 10 of the od green, my most favorite. I have one that’s 73/4 in good condition, the only thing is one of the screen vent came loose and I glued it back in place. If you are interested I can send you pictures. I wear a size 7 but I can wear 71/4 and a 67/8, I put those on a hat stretcher and worked fine

Coolest one I got is in British DPM. Has an adjustable shock cord to tighten it. Only on I ever saw like that.

Great hat collection, I wear mine alot I can't have enough of them. My wife thinks I'm alittle nuts so I just point to her shoes.lone live the boonie.
