The other reason they're all laughing is one of them (can't remember which actor) kept farting and it was supposed to be a 'serious' scene so they kept cracking up.

Except now they have Keyser Soze's photograph from his mugshot during the lineup, and they definitely took his fingerprints, so they have way, way more information on him now than they did before. They'd send his photo to every airport in the country. It wasn't the clean getaway they made it look like.
@MarcoMM13 ай бұрын
Great reaction Amanda finally you are reacting to one of my favourites movies of all time. There are some fun-facts about it like always. The line-up scene was improved with a fart. When asked by a fan on Twitter about whether there was truth to the fact the group of actors kept making each other laugh while shooting the line-up scene, McQuarrie elaborated that it was specifically one actor farting that caused this to happen. However, he expressed gratitude for the incident and explained how it helped improve both the scene and the script overall. It's pretty well-known by this point that the actor McQuarrie is referring to is Oscar winner del Toro, who Pollack previously revealed: "farted like 12 takes in a row." Lol Keyser Söze was named after a lawyer. Screenwriter Christopher McQuarrie once worked for a lawyer named Keyser Sume (pronounced sue-may), whom he told: “You’ve got a great name. You’re going to be the villain in a script some day.” When it came time to write The Usual Suspects, McQuarrie figured that, for legal reasons, he’d better not use the exact name, and so he replaced it with part of the Turkish expression “söze boğmak,” which means “talk too much” (literally, “drown in/with words”). Considering that the movie also has a character nicknamed, Verbal because he “talks too much,” Turkish audiences might not have been as surprised by the movie’s ending as other viewers were. Kevin Spacey asked to be in the movie before he even knew what it would be. The actor met Bryan Singer at a screening of the director's first feature, Public Access, which won the Grand Jury Prize at Sundance in 1993. Spacey liked the movie so much that he told Singer he wanted to be in whatever he made next. “I took that as an assignment,” Singer told Charlie Rose. “Because I worship this man as an actor.” Al pacino turned down the role of dave kujan to play a cop in a different movie. That would be Heat, which famously paired him onscreen with Robert De Niro for the first time. Pacino didn’t want to play a cop twice in the same year, so he opted for the more prestigious, Michael Mann-directed project. Fenster’s unique dialect was all benicio Del Toro’s idea. As Del Toro explained it on Inside the Actors Studio, his character’s only real purpose in the story was to die. So to liven things up, Del Toro tried delivering Fenster’s lines the way the audience hears them in the film-very quickly, and with a thick, indiscernible accent. Nobody on the set could understand him. Singer later recalled, “At first I thought it was a joke, but I didn’t want to offend him if it wasn’t a joke.” Keep up the good work.

So, Gabriel Byrne who played Keaton, and Pete Postlethwaite who played the lawyer Kobayashi, are two great Irish actors. Pete Postlethwaite passed a while ago, but another great flick of his you should check out is "In The Name Of The Father", a film from the early 90s that he could starred in with Daniel Day-Lewis, that's based on a very real story to do with "The Troubles" in Northern Ireland back in the day. I don't know how familiar you are with Daniel Day-Lewis or the troubles in Northern Ireland, but Daniel Day-Lewis is considered by many to maybe be the greatest living actor in the world, and, well, Northern Ireland is a longer story. I can try and explain it if you want me to.
@paulstroud26473 ай бұрын
Pete Postlethwaite is actually English, from Warrington in Lancashire. In his younger days he worked in a holiday camp on the East coast; I know because my late father-in-law was his supervisor :-) A very nice and polite man, he said and certainly became a wonderful actor, sadly missed.

0:42 - You're really not. An an iron deficiency can be a serious matter. In the future, I'd recommend a supplement you can swallow, not chew. In fact, I'm mildly anemic right now and may need some iron tablets of my own. 4:51 - Excellent question! And you're the first reactor to ask it! Very nice! 🙂 5:56 - The reason they're all laughing is because Benicio del Toro was... ummm... "dangerously gassy." Director Bryan Singer was initially extremely angry, but finally accepted the takes as they'd been filmed, since the characters would probably find the whole stupid thing funny, anyway. 🙂 6:24 - Good instincts! 11:00 - "I'm smarter than you." I love that this guy's arrogance comes back around to bite him in the ass. SIDE NOTE: This movie won an Academy Award for Best Original Screenplay. 13:53 - I'm a native New Yorker, so old movies that show the Towers can be heartbreaking. 😢 19: 40 - That's because it WAS real! It was a lucky/unlucky shot by Peter Greene (Redfoot) and Stephen Baldwin's reaction is real. 21:56 - Just so you know, $91,000,000 from back then is worth approximately $187,816,000 today. 32:30 - Kevin Spacey glued his fingers together to make sure he didn't accidentally move them during shooting. 34:20 - Gabriel Byrne was convinced that he was Keyser Söze. When he saw the completed movie for the first time, he was VERY angry! Nice reaction. And your teeth weren't black. 🙂
