RE your theory: "Keyser Soze" is not neccessarily *one person* Everything we learn about "him," (or THEM) we hear *from Verbal* which means it could all be bull$hit. The "origin story" about how he killed his whole family could be a complete fabrication. If it's true, it may not have been about Verbal - it could have been the other guy, who's name is most definitely not-Kobayashi and who may or may not be a lawyer. Maybe HE's Keyser and Verbal is HIS operative or apprentice. Maybe they're equal partners. Maybe they both work for *someone else.* Or even, Verbal and Not-Kobayashi may just be con-men who have appropriated an urban legend about a criminal bogeyman that doesn't actually exist. (A bold move, if it turns out that he *does* exist, he probably wouldn't be too happy about someone using his name) "Keyser Soze" may be a mantle passed down from master to apprentice like "The Dread Pirate Roberts." The origin story could be true about the *original* Keyser Soze who is now long since dead, but whose reputation lives on through the continued activity of his successor(s). Verbal may be the direct successor, or the name may have passed on a dozen times before it got to him. They may operate like Sith Lords, one master and one apprentice at all times, and the whole thing is never bigger than a two-man operation, or they could just be one cell of a vast secret network. The only things we know for certain is what law enforcement already knows and can corroborate: The lineup happened, the robbery of "New York's Finest Taxi Service" happened, the boat exploded on the dock, there was a snitch on the boat that could identify Verbal as an *operative, leader,* or *sole propreitor* of the criminal entity known as "Keyser Soze," 3 of the 5 suspects from the lineup were found dead at the scene, the only two survivors were Verbal and the one gangster who indetified Verbal as the triggerman who killed the snitch. Everything else could be a lie. "Redfoot" may not even exist. Fenster may still be alive somewhere, possibly a third accomplice to Verbal and Not-Kobayashi. Ultimately, as you pointed out, Verbal failed. The entire point of manipulating the Usual Suspects into the ill-fated strike on the dock was to keep his face from being identified with "Keyser Soze" by the authorities. Because *one survivor* saw his face and described it to a sketch artist, the Verbal Kint identity is blown. He will have to go into permanent hiding and retire, or continue his activities underground with total anonimity, or he'll have to get plastic surgery or something and change his identity entirely. For what it's worth "Keyser Soze" means "Talkative King" or *"Verbal* King" if you will...

As you said, there could be many possibilities. The truth is kept a mystery, and the viewers have to guess 😉 Although Verbal may have failed, it might not hinder their operations too much, since they have always operated behind the scenes.

According to Usual Suspects director Bryan Singer, the name Söze comes from a Turkish word for “one who talks too much,” further echoed by Kint's nickname, Verbal. Keyser Söze has since captivated the popular imagination.

Henry, I'll bet you're in medical school or something. You're so smart. It's adorable watching you take notes watching movies. Great channel, thanks for what you do.

Verbal being Kayser is a necessary decoy to give the audience closure.

What if Kobayashi is Keyser, and verbal is his number two. Verbal said he feared Keyser. Be weird to fear yourself. Someone may have been pushing verbal to act like a gimp. Sketch looks like both of them

Kobayashi could be Keyser. Verbal could be Keyser. Keyser might not exist. These are all possibilities. Even if Verbal is Keyser, he can just lie about "fearing Keyser". Thanks for sharing your thoughts! 😊

He gives the reason for being crippled at the start of the movie. "I like cops. I woulda liked to be a Fed but my CP..." which is the abbreviation for Cerebral Palsy. The man was faking a neurological disorder. Makes it funnier that his "crime against Soze" was a complicated confidence scam. It makes McMannus' reaction to being stabbed make sense since "the strangest thing" would be seeing Verbal act totally normal. And Keaton's face when he realizes he's been duped/the way he says Keyser. The phrase "pulling stumps for turkey" just means they were drawing lots to decide who got to eat that day. If they were living like that, there wasn't that much that needed protecting

Oh, so that's what CP means... I thought his leg and hand was a result of some kind of permanent injury. Verbal's "crime against Soze" was a lame excuse compared to the others 😂 I mean, he scammed one of the people under Soze, so what? Considering Soze's "personality" (or at least what we heard in the movie), he wouldn't care if one of his underlings got scammed. If the scammed money actually belonged to Soze, then that underling should be the one that's punished. I'm surprised McManus went down that easily. A stab to the back shouldn't have stopped him from retaliating or firing his gun. He had enough strength to walk back to the main deck, after all. Oh, is that what "pulling stumps for turkey" means? I heard some people say it means they are hurrying off to Turkey the next day 😂

So which of the two crews involved in this transaction is struggling to eat? The Hungarians that showed up with $91 million, or the Argentines that came in a yacht?😆 "Pulling stumps for Turkey" means they were preparing to leave for Turkey right after this deal.

And not a bad theory for the double twist, hard to argue with your thoughts on it not actually being Verbal.

Henry...you nailed *SO* many of the clues in your wrap up. I love your hot take that Verbal is _not_ Keiser. I think you're kinda wrong, but just kinda (Keiser is a "ghost story", no one is Keiser - and the one horror story we hear of him comes from Verbal, who's lying about everything.) Final note: "Keiser Soze" is sorta Turkish/Hungarian/German ("Some say his father was German...") for "The King of Bulls***"...so....Verbal. ("People say I talk too much ") 🤔🥸

I didn't believe Verbal's horror story about Keyser either. The moment he said Keyser killed "parents' friends" and "people who owe them money" it was too much 😂 Ooo, you're right. Verbal did spout a lot of nonsense when talking to Kujan. Though I believe he was trying to stall for time to be released on bail.

@@henryellow Especially ruthless gangsters at war may kill other criminals who owe money to their enemies as a way of depriving the enemies of funds. Although it's more common and practical that they'd just rob them for the same effect. But you're right about the rest probably being hyperbole.

@@henryellowRemember what the Detective said. He believes Kose is made up to scare people. I have always believed *Kobayashi* and Verbal created him for this purpose.
