I read it was supposed to be renewed for a second season (and there was a commercial on Comedy Central saying the same), but it apparently came down to a choice between the Vacant Lot and Exit 57 (another sketch comedy show). Comedy Central allegedly chose Exit 57 because it was cheaper to make. I was super pissed because I loved the Vacant Lot and didn’t like Exit 57 at all. Poor choice, Comedy Central.
@the-dave-house-project2 жыл бұрын
@@tonyafowler5122 How in the world was it cheaper? I would think just having Mark McKinney's brother in the credits would have made it worth running... even if it wasn't at least as good as Kids in the Hall in it's own right.
@victorhiggins96362 жыл бұрын
@@tonyafowler5122 Actually it was because the CBC (the network this was on alongside TKitH) wanted to phase out of "edgy" comedy shows.

So many great sketch comedy shows that were short lived and whose casts, for the most part, weren't seen much in front of the camera again.

Rob (tall glasses dude) quietly retired in the 2000s, Vito (bald dude) writes primarily for animation and co-runs a studio, Nick McKinney works as a producer and Paul still writes for comedy but has work extensively in voice acting.

I loved the Chamber of Horrors sketch. It was more like a Chamber of Childhood Horrors. And even though it was a little cruel, I liked the sketch where the dog smuggler gets turned into a human piñata. It's like something from a cartoon. Phil the Cat

Another short lived and wacky Canadian comedy show. Too bad it didn't last very long. Of course, the writers would have probably run out of insane sketch ideas anyway. Good while it lasted.
