Brian, I was so excited to see this video. 👏🏼👏🏼 It really is a fantastic book and I am NOT one to read a non-fiction military memoir.

Happy new year mr Brian . Thank you for your wonderful cultural channel. Honestly you reminde us of gulf war in 1990 , i was teenager in first year in high school. My homeland Saudi Arabia eastern province near Kuwait. Some of Kuwaiti families settled in our town , some girls with us at school. When the gulf war ended they returned to their country. We put Duct tape on our windows , we have great fear of chemical weapons. The really trouble when Iraq armies set fire on oil walls , poulltion affected us malignant tumors and even , some birth defects, infertility cases due to that poulltion at that year . There are interracial couples channel sean white soldier and serria black nurse . Sean deployment in Iraq 2020 after he returned have two kids last year . He have tumor because, of chemical weapon there he have surgery became fine . He said even American soldiers who are deployed to Iraq or Afghanistan have tumors because of chemical weapons there . We hope only peace spread around the world because, war means destruction and misery for people. I gathered main theme of book you mentioned and author biography briefly here it’s Brennan Morton after graduating, he joined USA marine where he became sniper, breacher , team leader in reconnaissance battalion. He deployed for two combat tours in Iraq before opening gym in north Easter Pennsylvania .he is author of company of bones and lost sons .

@@Khatoon170 Happy New Year Khatoon! Thank you for sharing your stories about the impact of the Gulf War on you and your community. So many people were affected by the oil well fires and exposure to chemical weapons at burn sites in both wars. Shamefully, our government only recently agreed to provide money to compensate Americans for the health effects of that experience. I am sorry that you and your community also experienced the ill effects.

Valhalla boys plot summary in 2006 , shock and we campaign of securing major cities had ended Iraq war . Moved into an alien phase for operator of black flag one with their motto “ swift , slient , deadly “ . Marine operators of 2 nd reconnaissance battalion were trained. For unconventional warfare but they were tasked with holding and securing swatches of country, facing in surgents , who were adapting their tactics to kill as many coalition soldiers as possible using ieds. It was terrifying new phase of war where every disturbed patch of dirt, every piece of rubbish, every civilian acting oddly could mean instant death . Into cauldron of hate become young marine recon sniper . Brennan Morton had been fascinated by war and military as long he could remember. Had signed up for marines as enlighted after 9/ 11. Developed and writing undertaken at suggestion of his v A therapist, his immersive memoir takes reader through selection and training and first patrol sweeping for coaches, to endless night watches , deadly 14 attacks.

Yes a lot of great books have come out of war going all the way back to people like Thucydides. But looking back on our own history it’s striking how many wars the US has fought that we didn’t need to, and have resulted in America being hated and resented in many places around the world. Even our intervention in World War I is now open to question and may have caused much more harm than good.⚛❤

True about the U.S. fighting unnecessary wars. Certainly there were a fair number of people even in 1917 who thought our involvement in WWI was a mistake and the events following the war certainly exposed Wilson as a naive player in international politics.

It sounds interesting, but I’m afraid the genre was spoiled for me by the book written by the dishonorable Chris Kyle, _American Sniper._

Understood. I think Morton’s experience approach is a good deal different than Kyle’s.
