Winding down Tokutober with a breakdown of my personal favorite toku series as of now. I got the chance to talk about every character in this excellent cast through a conflict I found particularly interesting.

Someone who finally gets lupinranger vs patoranger.. this is my second favorite sentai season for a good reason, but it only is good to those who look close enough to see the hidden meanings, since most people only look at the flaws when watching this season when they should just look closer

Personally I loved the duality of the 2 teams that was always displayed by the 2 different songs used in the opening. It was rarely boring to see them interact and Noel was a good middle ground.

Make me wish I could have download episodes of Lupinranger Vs. Patranger when it first came out, because when I saw teasers of Lupinranger Vs. Patranger, I was like I am done with Super Sentai for the time being until the Sentai show. Watching your vid made me rethink Lupinranger Vs. Patranger.

I should probably watch this series again. When it first came out, I got bored waiting for the new episodes coming out and got absorbed into previous seasons. But I still looked into the new episodes when they aired.

I love Lupat and think this show is very underrated. Plus I genuinely love the dynamic between both Reds as both are the best of their respective teams but for different reasons and each one has different flaws which to the other is a strength. Keichiro is an upstanding police officer and is a stickler for rules while Kairi is a good person at heart but he will shirk the rules to get what he wants like a thief. Keichiro looks at things in black and white while Kairi sees things only in gray. Both reds were the antithesis to one another but it was in that that they became brothers and found that even if they may not see eye to eye, they both believe in the same thing and want to achieve the same goal.

The last line made me realise that Keichiro and Kairi start with the same letter. The Kaitou and Keisatsu (Police and theives) start from the same place, the same desire to protect.

I really enjoy seeing this video essay format applied to Tokusatsu. Have been following your channel for years and have had quite a pleasant surprise seeing you foray into my favorite hobby lol. Excellent stuff here, I think LuPat was quite underrated by the fandom during its airing. Its a great series and Kairi is an excellent red who as you lay out breaks the mold and becomes a hero in quite a subversive way. Thanks for getting me to watch Sh15uya by the way, it scratches me "early 200s heisei rider" itch.

This was amazing. Lupin Vs Pat was the first Super Sentai I've watched in years and it hooked me hard. It is still my favorite season and the hate it gets online is sad as the story and character development is absolutely amazing. Your analysis really got the point of the entire show. Amazing

This was a great video. Lupat is also my favorite Sentai for it's rich characterization and how intelligently it uses the contrasting teams. I really dug how much you got into everyone through the lens if Kairi.

I really did like the thing between keiichiro & Kairi it was a nice dynamic and despite his best attempts Kairi was a messed up kid Who just wanted results and wasn't afraid to get them by whatever means necessary So this video really is nice as I enjoyed lupat

The main plot hole of this entire series is that the Patrangers had no reason to hunt the Lupinrangers. They'd broken no laws, and only ever stole from Ganglers, and those items were never sold. The Patrangers never asked why they wanted those items, or why they were never found on the black market. It was just always "well, you're thieves, so you're bad". The entire conflict was completely unwarranted, let alone unnecessary.

That same goes with MHA, if your a hero and save people then theirs no problem, but if you're a vigilante, then they will arrest you cause you are breaking the law as not certified hero. And that same goes with Lupin, cause they are more like vigilante than their for them and they are breaking the law.

The Lupin Collection was known and owned by the World Government (which funds the GSPO that the Patrangers work for), that's why the Lupinrangers are wanted criminals

Ep1 explained this, a lot of the Gamglers they fought were disguised as powerful / rich people and the police only knew about the skinwalking on the last quarter of the series. It's like saying that the FBI should've acepted the help from people who's stealing from Bill Gates and / or assaulting Jeff Bezos just because "well, everyone they attacked was a repitilian so it's ok".

I really question that. Cops and criminals can't work together? Has Junko Kamura ever watched an episode of any cop drama? Cops or criminals do on occasion go to one another to help on cases for something in return. It's called plea bargaining.

they can't work together because the the lupinrangers are known to visually be the bad guy to the ordinary citizen. if the police were to get caught working with them, it would be a bad look for them as the civilians wouldnt be able to put their trust in them.

I do like episodes 10 to 20 a lot, and I love patren 1 and patren 3. Too bad they really didn't do anything with them after those early episodes
