I get why Stefan is disappointed in Damon for not forgiving their mother, but I think he was a little harsh to him. He needed to except that Damon has a different perspective about their mother (that Stefan doesn't have) after everything she did to both of them, but Damon specifically. Damon was always the protector of Stefan and got the brunt of the abuse. Stefan is always looking for the good in people whereas Damon is more of a realist. I love seeing Damon and Stefan always being there for each other though. When they got stabbed it was insane! I’m so excited for the next episode. It's one of my favorites of the whole show.

Rick has always been a really good dude in the show and never hit on teenagers or was weird like that, and for the writers to make him out to be into Caroline romantically isn't his character at all. It makes more sense to me that he wanted a successful marriage and to take care of them kids together, as parents, because it's what's best for them.

Except they didn't. It was clearly and only for Caroline carrying Ric's babies, which was also only because Candice was pregnant. I don't even consider them an official couple because Caroline never had feelings for Ric. So it was like a one sided crush-type thing for Ric because of course even though Caroline was only the twins' surrogate mother, she was no less than their own bio mom. So Ric's feelings are just natural considering how sweet, caring, loving & adorable Carebear can be.

He was always the sounding board when it came to his relationship advice. I will always say Stefan is so good at talking and criticizing when the suffering belongs to others and he thinks a lot he is thoughtful and calm but when he is suffering he loses his temper all and does not look at anyone he does not care about anything is very vindictive and until he does there is no way to make him reason and jon thinks about the consequences. If it were Damon in his place he would have been criticized by everyone that once again because of Damon, Stefan has been hit but for quite a while that Damon suffers the consequences of what his brother does.

Idk why Stefan was trying to blame Damon saying he’s the reason Lily died and Julian is alive. Damon also wanted Julian dead, he just wanted to do it after a couple months and more planned out. I get that Stefan wanted things with Lily to be mended a little bit or for Damon to say nice words about her but despite having the same parents they did not have the same experiences growing up so he should have tried to be more understanding rather than trying to guilt Damon for not forgiving Lily. All Damon said was that their attack on Julian should be planned out and that it was dangerous to go in there when Julian had all those people, if Stefan had listened they could’ve avoided certain things. Bonnie suffered bc he decided to take Mary Louise and Damon is trapped in the stone for trying to help his brother. I love defan but I hate that this is a pattern for Stefan in multiple different seasons, Damon may be impulsive but Stefan let’s revenge become his every thought.

I get that Stefan wanted Damon to feel a certain way towards their mother but he should’ve been more understanding about why Damon wouldn’t just immediately change how he feels. He had no right to get angry over Damon’s emotions that are based off of his own personal experience. It wasn’t about being the bigger person, Damon wasn’t resentful towards his mother over something petty and even though his childhood was enough reason to feel resent that wasn’t even the sole reason he felt that way either. We know that bc when Damon thought Lily had died of consumption he said he used to take flowers to her. Damon’s resent was about the way Lily had no interest in being a mother to them or even viewing them as her family, what she did to Elena, and then of course the childhood stuff gets added to that when he thinks about how she did nothing to protect him from his father. All of that isn’t going to be forgiven in an instant, which seems to be what Stefan was hoping for. Stefans revenge isn’t just a one time thing, it happens 3-4 times in the show, in this specific scenario I understand bc Julian caused Valerie to lose their child but the problem is he lets revenge consume him to the point where he doesn’t listen and doesn’t think about the consequences of his actions. They could’ve still killed Julian with a more thought out plan but Stefan was adamant on what he thought should happen/when he wanted to do it. I get your perspective and what you’re explaining about Stefan but I honestly just think that Stefan could’ve handled things better bc it’s not all about his feelings, just bc he feels some way doesn’t mean everyone else needs to as well.

I was speaking about my perspective on the situation and on how Stefan handled everything. We agree that Stefan was hoping Damon would instantly feel the same as him but I still don’t think he was right, for the reasons I previously explained, and I do believe that he was trying to make Damon feel bad for not forgiving her. In regards to the revenge thing, I don’t think it’s the same for everyone else tbh bc yes other characters may have wanted revenge at some point in the series but for Stefan it’s a pattern. If that doesn’t bother you then that’s okay too. We probably won’t be agreeing a lot this season but I have my opinion, you have yours and I respect it. @@Web497 SPOILER SPOILER 😂 Stefan comes out of the phoenix stone first because he indulges in pain and what he's done wrong Damon took longer not for what he did because in comparison to Stefan, Damon can number his victims among the firm, he takes a long time because he does not give in to pain because he does not want to feel pain and suppresses his humanity and goes out. when he realizes that what he has to do and forgive his mother as so in season 8 in purgatory he understands that he has to officially and definitively forgive his brother for turning him and for prowling around in his head manipulating him and making him do what bad Stefan wants to do .. .this proves once again that Damon was the victim of his own family father, mother and unintentionally his brother so your boyfriend is a bit of a gamble to think that if it is Damon he will account for what he does when he has been worse off. Damon's - in fact almost everything himself. I remind you that Damon has always been mentally human and that a vampire lurks in his head so that's why all of Damon's family gives him everything because in one way or another hanko destroyed his life.

Very unpleasant Stefan to him when Damon tries to help him, to advise him he does not accept and always sees the evil in his brother but he expects Damon to be like him who must feel what he feels and must do what he wants. Very well you have reasons to forgive your mother and Damon does not interfere in this he is not blaming you because you love your mother but Stefan was demanding that he should tell him something and now forgive her for dead. Stefan doesn't accept people for who they are and tries to fix them on the one hand he can also be seen well and beautiful but people must also be accepted and left as they are. Damon has a childhood made of physical, psychological and above all emotional abuse that in my view the most serious for this if you want Damon to forgive his mother you have to give time and without criticizing him for what he currently feels.

Honestly it was nice to see Bonnie have a friend who's a witch, or Heretic in this situation, even if it didn't last long. Also, I got where both Stefan and Damon were coming from. Both have equally good points. That being said, maybe it's because I'm super close to my own mom (and they included that scene with Caroline visiting Liz's grave) I do feel bad for Stefan. As terribly flawed as she was, she was still his mom and in the end, she choose them.

It's a good guess in my opinion. Lily didn't care about her actual family, her children, until recent episodes, and tried to kill them multiple times. She was a terrible character in the show until her mini redemption arc and death, and I still don't like her and completely understand where Damon is coming from with not forgiving her.
