hearing quen talk about being sober is so validating and nice to hear. as a 20 year old who has never smoked or drank as much as others my age i’m glad i never got so involved with drugs or drinking because just like quen explained it i feel so aware with myself and i’m slowly working to be healthy in every way and being sober is such a big help and something i don’t ever have to worry about.

23:30 I worked in the inpatient psych unit… and when their soliloquies started making sense to me I decided I better get out of nursing fr. I didn’t feel like forcing meds on people who I think just need connection. My worst memory is giving someone the sleepy shot bc they were being sent home and didn’t want to go “bc they hit me” and the nurses wouldn’t do anything… said he just says that… they’ve looked into it…. Felt so wrong. And I think about them to this day and hope they’re being cared for.

I love both of you guys very much but a friendly reminder on subject of people struggling hallucinations it's really dangerous to imply that they are real because it could send people who are schizophrenic into psychosis generally you want to avoid acknowledging the hallucinations. If the person ask if something's there you clearly say no and move on don't ask about the hallucinations or feed into it.

I used to have the same belief that insane people are actually seeing a different realm or ghosts or auras or really smart. But unfortunately I was in an institution for a very long time and that belief changed because crazy isn't what we think it is and yes it does exist unfortunately. I have way too many examples but just for one, this one person for months thought that I was trying to kill them and that I was undercover and no matter what I said or did they couldn't accept it that I wasn't. That I could disappear just because they didn't see me sleeping in my bed etc.

As a 29-year old born in 1994, I’ve had the strangest POV in my generation. Like this Gen Z is sooooo much younger than me and their childhood pop culture references are when I was pretty much out of high school, and it’s skewed bc yall know the chewed up and spit out version of 90’s/early 00’s references, so it’s not the same. But I feel like yall understand us millenials anxiety and word things in such a way that as yall are now a little older and dealing with the real world, you guys are the bridge between my generation and what the one before me doesn’t understand. Yall understand this matrix is unnatural and really question the status quo, whereas my generation felt like they had to keep up with and do what our older siblings/friends/etc were doing.

If anyone gets any of that, I just think this random interview is important to get real life conversations going to change how we experience life on this planet. I volunteered at children's fairs in the early 2000s and we fingerprinted kids as the beginning of an "in case of emergency kit". Parents would then receive a kit in the mail to put the fingerprints in & other things (current school pic, full name, hair sample, etc) so if the worst did happen everything was easily available...it's not a new thing & adults go missing all the time

I don't think people should be scared if we were living in a simulation. I think people think theres a guy controlling our every move like puppets but theres 8 billion people on this earth. It's not possible. If anything, its like a random generator. someone creates a "life simulator" has people living in it and lets them live their own lives in the simulator. Meaning they still have their own thoughts, actions , and beliefs like us. Basically, if life is a simulation, someone created it and let it run by itself, let people live by themselves. If i was told that I would just go about my day cause that doesn't change the fact that i have a job, and family and other important things...
