Already watching the first couple reactions to the episodes of this season reminded me of how much I’m not a fan of Stefan these next 2 seasons. What did Stefan mean by “she’s in danger bc you won’t let her rest”. The only reason Elena’s coffin was even disturbed is bc the heretics took her out of the crypt, Damon wasn’t the one who took her coffin out and all he’s trying to do is get her back from Lily. Also, saying “no you need to get rid of this body” the same way he told Damon that he was the one who had to go get Caroline when lily/the heretics took her 🙄

I agree with you about Stefan I don't hate him and I appreciate his qualities but he can be very unpleasant, moralistic and respectable not to mention that he is very hypocritical. From mid-season 3 and up to mid-5 he was arrogant and unpleasant in 6 I loved him but now he returns to being unpleasant towards his brother.

I wasn't a big fan of the 3 year sneak peaks at first either but I eventually came around and then am happy when we just fully jump and stay there. I think it can be a an effective and interesting storytelling device when used properly. This Is Us actually uses it a lot and navigates it pretty seamlessly because they never give like too much away and it's also not necessarily every episode. But yeah it becomes well how are we gonna get to this point then. I will say I probably would have held off on showing Alaric and the twins so early and wait for the current timeline to actually reveal that there's a way to get actually have the twins still before just showing them in the future. I know it still plays out not as expected but I think holding off on that aspect would have played better overall.
