I don’t think he was manipulated, we have to start being honest with ourselves. Damon was only compelled to leave her alone. Everything that he did while he was sneaking around with Katherine behind Stefan’s back was OF His OWN FREE WILL. I’m just saying.

Ok so the explanation for the dream, Damon did it too in season 1. Where He made Stefan dream that Elena gets killed by Damon in her house if you remember. So vampires can go into each others head. They can kind of go into your dreams and make you dream whatever they want. Or maybe share a memory and watch a memory from the persons mind they are looking into. Or maybe relive the memory together. It won't change anything about how you think. Unless they don't know a vampire had gotten into their mind. They have to be close, and it depends on how strong they are. Like when Stefan drinks animal blood he can't do all the stuff vampires can do 100%, like compulsion. They can dig through the mind to look for a memory to mess with or just look at. :)

Just to clarify: Katherine never compeled Damon, he was asure of what she was all the time, but she did compeled Stefan, not to loved her, but to not be afraid of her, because she really loved him. Stefan was her true love.

Katherine has a really...twisted concept of what love is. I don't think you can compare it to how somebody sane and human would love somebody else. So I do think she loves Damon, but in a very selfish and sadistic way. I think she loves seeing him hurt too, enjoys hurting him too. And yes she obviously loves Stefan.

Idk if you know about what was going on behind the scenes between Kat and the showrunners. Usually a lot of things wrong with Bonnie were due to discrimination from them. So her not having a lot of screen time or not much story usually stems from that.

i know i am late but she compelled stefan when they slept together she attacked him and stefan wanted nothing to do with her anymore but she compelled him to not to be afraid of her and to be ok with whatever goes on with him...damon was never compelled she only compelled him in this situation to leave her..but he had no problems when he saw she was a vampire he was with her because he wanted to be with her..it was his own choice

I don't think I hated a character more than I hated Katherine. I think they tried really hard later on to give her some sort of a redemption arc but she hasn't justified it. But I always said that Nina plays Elena and Katherine so flawlessly and effortlessly... she's truly amazing at making you love one character, and hate the other (thats's the case for me personally).

People love to claim that elena is selfish even though caroline was selfish in this episode. She said mean things to elena. Honestly, elena is an angel for forgiving caroline. Even though caroline doesnt deserve it.

@@herosjourney8725 She told to keep her away by any means necessary. She threatened her and so Caroline did what she knew would get to Elena. Caroline didn't want to say any of that but she knew if she didn't she would be killed by Kat. So Caroline's a pawn and being manipulated by her. She's does deserve forgiveness. Elena is not an angel, she's someone who knows what her friend is like.

@@latraeosborne3287 there are multiple possibilities to a situation and Caroline is old enough to know that. Katherine did tell her to do anything to keep Elena away but that doesn't mean use one of worst ways of multiple possibilities. example: the mom tells her son to keep the younger son away from the cookies. so the older sun pushes the younger son. the older son is in the wrong. also i noticed you cant handle Elena being called an angel. feel free to imagine Elena with angel wings.

@@herosjourney8725 your example doesn't work as a mother wouldn't kill their own child. Katherine would be willing to kill Caroline if she didn't try her hardest. Katherine wanted her to do anything including using Elena's relationship against her to keep her away and since we know Katherine wants Stefan, it makes sense that she told Caroline to use it as a way to hurt Elena. I don't like Elena being called an angel because she doesn't deserve it. Bonnie deserves it but not Elena.
