The used bookstore I worked at used lighter fluid to remove stickers. There's also a product called goo gone. They're both rough chemicals to keep far away from your spawn. Wow, the books I sent actually made the video, that's really cool. The Holmes-Dracula File is my favorite retelling of either character by another author. I bought the rest of Saberhagen's Dracula series after that one book. The Secret History of Vampires is good, but I've enjoyed his other works more. Not sure if it would be your thing but his Phantom Armies of the Night is one of my favorite nonfiction books, I made it my Halloween read a couple years back and ended up finishing it the second week in October. I haven't read Dark Wars yet but will soon. I had sent you Thorn by Saberhagen as well but it ended up being returned with a note saying your P.O. Box was no longer there, not sure what happened with that. Happy reading!

You asked for graphic novel suggestions, I think you would enjoy the New Deadwardians. It's set in an alternate 1910 known as the Deadwardian Age, zombie-like creatures called the Restless plague the globe, and the British upper class have taken themselves off the menu by becoming vampires, popularly referred to as Youngs. It explores themes of classism while lead character Chief Inspector George Suttle explores an intriguing murder mystery. Also, since you mentioned him as a possible alternative universe focus, I recommend Edgar Allan Poe’s Snifter of Terror. It's an anthology comic produced in six-issue "seasons." The publisher has a great description, "Famous author/day drunk EDGAR ALLAN POE introduces tales of suspense, shock, & disgust! Some are adapted from his own stories, others from his fellow dwellers in the public domain. All are presented in vile and lurid comics form!" Every issue has a beautiful painted cover inspired by a famous movie poster, comic book cover, or magazine cover with Poe standing in for the original character.

When I was going through my own library, I found out I accidentally bought duplicates of some books in the past. As a result, I started using an app called Libib, it allows me to scan the barcodes of books with my phone, catalog and list them. So now whenever I'm out shopping at a bookstore, I can check my phone and see if I have it listed and avoid buying duplicates in the future.

@@ToHoldNothing Can you still type in the name of the author? The title? Publishing date and company? You can do just that. My religious studies background makes me remember that Land of Nod is debated as to whether it was a real place, given the Hebrew could suggest he just wandered east of Eden, not to any particular place. But that also brings up major questions like...where did he find his wife, since we don't get an indication that God pulled a second creation east of Eden? I like the possibility that the story omitted the prior wife of Adam, Lilith and how she left the garden and propagated more "evil" humans (because that's part of the lore, I guess) and then married Cain later, leading to more evil and possibly even Nephilim, though that's a whole other thing with a mostly non canonical book, the Book of Enoch and the Grigori.

@@DarthArachnious Not the cartoon by Genndy Tartakovsky, just a similar title? You should cover F Paul Wilson's 'The Keep' some time in the future. I know you have a million things to do already. The book is set in a small Romanian town in the Carpathian Mountains during WW2. A Vampiric demon who once acted as advisor to Vlad Tepes (and is actually responsible for all of the things Vlad supposedly did) is unleashed by the Nazis occupying the village. He manipulates a Jewish POW by promising to wipe out the Third Reich. In the movie adaptation he pretends to be a kind of Demonic Golem to manipulate the Jewish POW instead. The book is amazing. The movie is an amazing example of stupid studio interference.
@stevegeorge68804 жыл бұрын
F Paul Wilson is an underappreciated National Treasure. By the way, have you read his short story "Cuts"? It was inspired by the experience of making The Keep, and so it offers the thrills of the story as story while also giving the meta fun of imagining Wilson as the screenwriter and Michael Mann or some other producer as the unfortunate protagonist.
