This week our escape south for some winter sun really gets underway as we make it to the Algarve in Southern Portugal. We go to one of the busiest and biggest campsites in Albuferia, one of the Algarve's main tourist hotspots. After 4 years of wild camping this many vans all in one place is my worst nightmare, but it can't be that bad can it?

I’m sitting here at 1am, massaging my face because I think I’ve damaged it, smiling at you two. You remind me so much of my beloved and myself, when we were younger. When Emily went up on tiptoes for a kiss, it was like watching us, even today. Mrs still does that, after over 30 years! I’m so glad I found you two. You give me reasons to be happy, even in the deepest darkest depths of winter, when reasons to be happy are in short supply. Thank you for bringing us along on your adventures. The quality of your work never ceases to amaze me. The different camera angles, the steadiness of the images and the overall production are immaculate. This way it never gets boring! Keep it up ladies!

Thing is, you have all this stuff - the BBQ, the moon-chairs, the table, the hammocks, the awning etc - and when you're overnighting you just don't need to use ANY of it so it's nice to be able to stop for a few days, spread out and play with all the cool toys. And, let's face it, £15 a night for a site with all the facilities - in winter - is a bloody bargain.

Love seeing that campground. My husband and I lived full-time in a motorhome for 14 years. We traveled all over the United States and Canada. There are some campgrounds here in the states that are like the one you are in. I didn’t convert the money, but I think the one you’re in is cheaper than anything you can get here. We also have beautiful resorts that are quite restrictive. Some where the sites are all on concrete and are all full hook ups. After Covid, so many people have moved into a motorhome so they could travel while we were under lockdown, and after they continue to do so, and the campgrounds are now extremely crowded all the time. Some campgrounds took 50% of their sites and turned them into year-round rentals. My husband passed away in 2016 so I do not RV anymore but when I was doing it most of the places we stayed restricted you to no more than two weeks at a time unless you bought the site. Nowadays, you have to make reservations almost a year in advance because of so many people on the road. I love watching your videos and seeing places I will never get to and how it is to live across the pond. Wonderful to see two people enjoying life so much as the two of you do. Stay safe.

Lou, you managed to settle into the grumpy dad campsite persona perfectly. “No shoes on the ground sheet……MIND the guy ropes round the tents” etc. if you didn’t already have the fridge you could become really invested in setting and recovering your ice packs from the communal campsite freezer!

I went to that marina in October! The colourful houses are so fun to look at, did you see the train that goes past too? Like a little colourful tourist train on the road. We did one of the cave and dolphin boat tour, it was brilliant. Would recommend!

Hello ladies! Welcome to the huge camping sites with "permanent" campers! And Albufeira is one of them! They're commun in Portugal and Spain! In summer it's total madness with the crowds, barbecues, and whatsoever! I avoid to stay in places like that, but it's my weird way of being! However, they have very good facilities and amenities, relatively good for what is offered. Have a nice time! Enjoy!

Another great video girls. When I saw the campsite my heart dropped & thought "oh no!" Then when you were driving around looking for a spot I thought "what are they thinking?!" & "They are going to end up squashed next to a really large family with 15 kids at this rate!"😬 Even when you were setting up I thought "hope no-ones too close & they've got some sun there"😬 It all turned out good though. Well, better than good because you both look really well, happy & relaxed. It does look a lovely place & I can understand when you mentioned a "community". I think its a brilliant idea to get a little (or big) van on there & go whenever you want. Much cheaper than booking anywhere etc & it'd be like home from home. Brilliant editing throughout this too. I'm really happy you two decided to go to a campground and just chill out for a little after all the places and traveling you guys have done over the years. I think you really needed some chill time from driving all the time. Looks like the animals are loving the break from traveling too. They look so content just laying in the fresh air looking around they are both so cute and look so relaxed. But great video and the tour of the sites it looks really beautiful there great place to regroup for sure. Even VanLifers need a vacation with some services around. The pubs and paddlehalls are just compensation for the fact that you also wash the things and clean up the "house" And as Introvert as I am, you can meet some fun people at campsites and have as much company from them as you want.

Ohhh, so many good things in that, including a bit of "spice" near the end (thank you from the pit). Your comment about British campsites made me wonder, do you have government run campgrounds? Because, here in Canada, we have THREE types of campgrounds: Federal (government) campground/parks, Provincial (more government) campground/parks, and private campgrounds. The government campgrounds have a LOT of rules, but they have a lot of land to hike and scenic locations. The private campgrounds may not have any rules and probably have no hiking/scenic locations. And most of the campers(caravans) are frickin' HUGE! Can't wait to see your reaction WHEN you finally make it across the pond.

It does make you feel more alive when you've been in the cold water. I've been in the sea in the past on Christmas day & New Year's day😬😂 Nobody else around except for my sister & 2 nieces. My sister wouldn't come in & said she had to mind the clothes & my nieces paddled. It wasn't planned apart from taking a small hand towel in case my nieces wanted to paddle. I'd just go in with my underwear on then dry off with the little towel & fling my jeans & jumper back on😂😂 It's good for your heart & soul. I don't think that swimming pool would be that cold if it's had the sun on it all day🤔😁
