Lauren wasn't criticizing John at all or even his breakfast per se, just the recipe for the bacon. She doesn't like the rice paper. John even says he agrees and likes the cassava bacon better. It's a fair opinion. I've no idea what all the fuss in the comments is about.

+Chadagun - I'd disagree. There was criticism of John's choice to try something "trendy" and she was negative of paper bacon from the get go. There was no "oh, let's see how this is", no open-mindedness at all in her. John was much more into experimenting to see what the fuss was all about. Being open-minded doesn't mean they had to like more than something else they had done, but just to give it a fair shake on its own merits.

That's what I always think about, when Lauren is complaining about people eating meat. I think the point of being vegan or even vegetarian is to not eat and replicate stuff "meat eater" do eat. You know what I mean? I'm not a fan of egg-like or meat-like vegan food. You can be vegan or vegetarian without that.

Lauren, it's hard to be enthusiactic about a video in which you look so annoyed by. It's my first time noticing and this is totally still my favourite vegan channel for life. You just looked so annoyed and were being so negative all throughout the video, not just because of the bacon but in making remarks about anything. Sidenote: haters gonna hate. Relationships ebb and flow like everything else in life. People might have gotten a different vibe in this video than they normally do, congratulations to them. Lauren even said at the end of the video that she felt they both weren't winning dishes. That they were mediocre and middle of the road dishes, she felt that they both didn't do very good this time. So I agree that I can't really vote for either person. The dishes seemed too simple for me to really appreciate. I live eat breathe Lauren and her videos and her personality. Whatever the reason is, she was definitely off in this video. Not going to attack because we as viewers do not know what goes on behind the scenes, but when you put out this kind of material and you act a certain way, there is going to be backlash. I read the comments before watching, so when I finally did watch the video, I was waiting for some huge thing to happen. Nothing happened. I don't get what the big deal is. HOWEVER, I PERSONALLY just want to say..I feel if you stopped watching because of Lauren simply sharing her thoughts about how she felt towards the rice paper bacon,..like why are you here? Yum to both, but I'm a sucker for a mini quiche so John got my vote today. I still haven't tried the Laekon bacon. I have all the ingredients but haven't gotten to it yet. I was hoping the crispy/chewy factor was what made it a win for me. I still have to try it for myself and see! everyone complaining about lauren and the bacon only shows that they don't watch you that much. i get you haha and that doesn't mean you've got a problem with john!!! you're super honest in all aspects and care a lot about cooking and food, so you won't be fake by saying its good if it isn't for you. and john is the one that knows you the best so you're clearly not being mean to him. you too are amazing!

I think Lauren seems a little abusive at times, in all of their videos. She did mention on her personal channel once that she can be verbally abusive towards John (she was really upset about it), and that she was trying to learn to control it. I honestly feel for both of them.

The recipe I use puts oil in the sauce, so it's greasy and yummy. I do like skin though, so I love it even more that the texture is like that :) I'll try the cassava recipe. I trust you that it's better :) I vote for John's dish today. The muffin form makes it special.

Rice paper bacon is fucking delicious, coming from someone who eats actual meat bacon. However, the recipe (EdgyVeg) used olive oil in her marinade.

I like the cups because they make sense on the go during the work week. I don't know why everyone is giving a rough go on their relationship, I was actually thinking what an amazing connection they have and that it's solid and real because they can say what they really think and then discuss it.
