It was a little convoluted to get signed up (without paid membership) but if you click through without going for trial membership, it gives you a free week membership. I might need it later if I get my 1998 Cherokee running well again. Long story but it dies when going over a bump. Not NSS or any of the other typical issues, since virtually all sensors and other items have been replaced with Mopar parts. I'm going to check the fuel cutoff that's under the back seat and/or the fuel punp wiring as it seems to be like a short or open wire somewhere. Best of luck with the Ulimate Adventure!

We used to buy rollover vehicles and put new bodies on them. We did this with Chevy and GMC Blazers, Jimmies and S-10’s. We put LS engines in many. There’s an enormous “dismantling” facility in Akron Ohio. Used to be “Triplett ASAP” We paid their mechanic to remove bolts and electrical connections vs. cutting them. They would put the interior fasteners in one 5gal bucket, then body mounts/bolts were in another bucket. We would get back to our shop and lay it all out as a “do it yourself” s-10! It always amazed me how we simply took one body off a rollover and purchased a “test” vehicle that simply had holes where “monitoring or testing equipment was mounted”. I’ll be following the build and supporting you all way. Those were the best looking wheels from that Chevy era. Maybe the “BBS” looking GMC Jimmy wheels 😊

19:25 That Braun (Harbor Freight) flashlight on the roof is probably the best flashlight I have ever owned. I have leftover 18650 batteries and a charger from when I vaped and it is so quick and easy to just pop a new battery in when the one gets low. And at 19:54 I can see yours has the same modification my first one had, professional reinforcement using none other than....tape. It looks like you used electrical, I used Gorilla Duct tape. Love that stuff.

I'd say the S10 was a great choice for the same reasons, all kinds of parts are available. Might be some fun watching this alteration. The HVAC blower motor speeds are controlled by a resistor which is usually the fault when it comes to blower fan speed issue. Get a new OEM part from Rockauto or a known good aftermarket resistor and change it out. If that not the issues, its likely the fan control switch. There is a method to diagnose/pretest this so that you only buy one part to fix it and its likely something to do while you are figuring out what is wrong with the blend doors...those older ones work on vaccum hoses. Could be the control unit or hoses vs. a blend door problem but it also could be just trash built up inside the HVAC case.

I had a 1990 extended cab 4x4 S-10 with a 4.3 and 5 speed, I loved that thing, it drove through everything from sand to mud to snow and never got stuck. I had an '03 ZR S10 pickup. I loved that little truck. Stock I took it off roading Nothing to extreme, since I needed to get home with it. Then while I was crossing the intersection an 18 year old kid in a Jeep made a left turn at the same intersection, and T-BONED my S10! It may have been the 4" steel pipe for a front bumper, or the fact that he was shot out of a cannon!!!! But he totaled my truck! And made me not care for teenagers driving Jeeps!!!

The S10 flat bottomed frame is the same reason I loved, built a few Nissan Hardbody TruckS and a 89 2dr Pathfinder back Iin the 90s. They had drive train tucked up unlike the Era Toyotas which have a high frame & short floor body, but drivetrain & exhaust hang down. Lots of pros & cons debate for that generation!

My 98 year old great grandma taught me to drive in one exactly like that, except it was charcoal grey. It went more like " granny's tired, you're getting us home, I have my boys to driver me around now". I was about 11 years old then. Manual transmission and all. She lived about 10 miles down a dirt road in Louisiana and you had to do two large creek crossings to get to her farm. I have pictures of about 12 or 13 family members riding in the bed of it going down to the river in the 90's. I got my license in that truck years later and used to do more hardcore off-roading in that thing stock than I did in any of my built rigs I feel like. LOL.

This is going to be not just an epic, also a fun build , you and Matt will have a blast, I sold a few hundred of these trucks in various forms from late 80's to mid 90's when they brought out the new body style, your powertrain is strong and the only achilles heel is the front axle, yes great on road manners, off road it definitely has its limits, guess you might swap in a Dana 44 high pinion ,although they may be a bit too pricey, I had customers drive these trucks everywhere you could think of and they had as much as 400k kilometres, 1/4 million miles with the 4.3 V6 with the 700R4, there was nothing that could touch it in the day for reliability or longevity , Dakotas always shit the bed, i must of taken a dozen or more on trade that needed trans and transfer cases, i will follow this build each and every episode, I had that basic truck you have there from new in 1993 from the dealership i worked for, i factory ordered it and drove it 2 years and 50k miles, always got 30mpg highway with cruise at 100 kph, had to sell it, i got what i paid for it with my service records and had 6yr ext warranty on it and we used to money as a down payment on a house we had built, I don't miss my ex wife, i do miss that old truck it was great even in 18" of snow, 👍you got my vote

Well I an GMC SONOMA 4.3 SLS and my heater motor sings to me just like yours does but the only thing I need to do with mine is replace the motor. Also just encase you want to know there is aftermarket spider 🕷 Injection. And Comp Cams makes different grinds of Cams and vavle springs so there are parts for that engine. Good luck on your build.

Run some Hot Shot's Secret stiction eliminator through that old engine (full dose or a little more) to get it cleaned up inside and running well (for that part). :) I'd definitely do it for an old engine I had no history on. It works in diesel engine oil or gas engine oil but was designed to fix sticking diesel fuel injectors (the oil side) for big rigs and it has been working great there for owners (International asked for it as an OEM but it's for sale of course to anyone now).

I'm definitely voting for you all. I drove a short bed in the late '90's-2000's and wanted to gut it/ build it. At the time, I rented a room, had no garage, in college, and then got into jeeps. So I can't wait to see what you do.

Glad to see that every coming issue with them it has 😄 🤣 😂 had 2 s10s and 3 blazers that style and always hated the air suction system to lock in four wheel

That’s going to a really difficult decision to vote with the competition you guys are going against, but hey much love to the winner. 🎉 Anyways that was a good joke on the feud. 😂
