i have severe thumb OA and i wear a custom designed splint, they made a 3D scan of the hands and 3D printed the splints it is a hard plastic cup with silicone like straps, they fit snug and leave me still room to use my hand , i have to wear them allday. and that is not a problem, i do not know about the UK but here in the Netherlands they are covered by the basic health insuranse

As far as I know, at the moment these are only available privately in the UK. I haven’t heard of them being available on the NHS.

Thank you for this video! I have the Push brace and love it. It’s easy to clean (they have an instructional video here on YT) and after about one year it still looks almost like new! Even though it’s a little more expensive, it will last longer than having to replace a fabric one over and over.

Hi would any of these be helpful for supporting the mcp joint? That’s where my issue is at. And which splint would be best for someone that goes to the gym as well

Not really. You would need a thumb CMC splint with an extension piece that extends over the MCP joint. There are plenty on Amazon, like this one amzn.to/44Gt2dX
