@user-sf9gs2pg1b Жыл бұрын
I'd rather EDP be in jail tbh. Love the entertainment value of watching creeps get busted and all, but not everyone watches KZbin, let alone the specific creators who talked about EDP. I heard he's had trouble holding simple jobs, and what happens is if a guy like that cannot get a job and cannot go to jail due to a botched KZbinr's attempt to gather evidence, they're now a dangerous person wandering around and are more likely to harm. Think about it, no job, no jail, possibly suicidal, nothing to lose harming children or anyone for that matter. People in that state re-offend. All I want is a predator catcher who works with an investigator or cops so the guys actually get arrested and jailed, is that too much to ask? The videos where people do that - that's what I like. Chris Hansen did it right. Edit: added text to second sentence (up until " but") and reformatted

@@user-sf9gs2pg1byou kinda contradict yourself. Not everyone watches KZbin but edp can't find or keep a job. Pretty much everyone does watch KZbin, especially anyone edp could commit a offense against. Plus the dude is so large, he moves like molasses. He's unlikely to get away with even attempting to commit any crime involving other people in real life without being noticed. I do see your point though. When muldahar covered that japenese guy in Hawaii that was an absolute sicko pdf file wanna be cult leader, he really just gave the guy free publicity. I think there were real life consequences for the guy, which is good, but muldahars whole point was to get him banned from KZbin. He could've done that without making a video and unintentionally spreading the guy's message for him. He just made it easier for other sickos to find him and other sickos like him.

My favorite thing about Charlie is just how elegantly he will take an L when he is wrong. Saying “I was wrong and I’m sorry.” and genuinely meaning it is one of the strongest things a person can do imo. When someone who's financially dependant on being well liked is willing to make a public apology, that isn't humble, it's good business sense. He's made a fortune from pasting his face over the hard work of other creators while providing zero effort obvious takes to an audience of people who are terrified to form an opinion without a group consensus, that's not genuine, admirable, likeable, healthy, or indicative of a reasonably sized ego at all. Someone actually possessing those traits would honestly feel nothing but guilt for creating a career out of forcibly associating themselves with whatever's popular instead of actually making anything. If this guy had to pay for the broadcast rights to everything he'd ever shown it just wouldn't have been possible to paste his face all over it, so he hides behind this made up idea of "spreading awareness" of the content he's reacting to in order to make it profitable for himself rather than fair to the creators. If he put in real work towards having an editing style, a cinematographic style, a character with a routine, a specific specialist viewpoint, interesting animations, critique in song, etc. then it would be far more defensible to so heavily utilise the work of others, but in reality he only continues to exist because you've formed a hideous parasocial relationship with him. He's super aware that you feel this way and it's genuinely slimy to see him just lap up the attention you so willingly give him for basically nothing. He's not your friend, you've never met him, you don't know if he's nice or if he's a predator, you're just guessing, so why give him so much of your time when all he can offer you is just whatever falls out of his mouth at the time and someone else's hard work?

The Ser Winter drama says otherwise. There he was quite happy to take big streamers side (who were bullying a much smaller, Rust focused content creator, over a misunderstanding no less). He slammed the guy, called him "toxic and sweaty", took the big streamer's side. Then Ser Winter made a movie length video detailing the ENTIRE situation. With full context to everything and with lots of explanation and accountability where it was due. Not a word from Charlie, not a single thing. Ser Winter got, of course, en masse attacked by streamer fans as well as Charlie's fairly volatile crowd which use Charlie as a big signpost on where to go next to bash people. His Values and Honor only extend when he can bash other people. He's not that different from other drama mongering channels after all, he just has learned to meticulously stack the deck in his favor. His one slip up to me was the Ser Winter drama. He should've said something. Even as little as a Tweet saying "Hey guys remember that Rust CC that we bullied? He came out with his own video detailing what happened, I don't have the time or the incentive to make a video about it but I would like to address this and admit I was being partial to one side instead of staying focused on the facts". I didn't even want a sorry, just an admission. The same thing he's criticized other people of not doing (rightly so but still hypocritical). So no. I don't really agree with this comment. Charlie is definitely not this bastion of integrity people are trying to make him out to be, and I know I'll get hate for this but that's fine.

Maybe it's just the channels I watch, but I haven't seen any videos poking fun at Nik for his weight. Most videos I've seen about him were voicing genuine concern, though at some points they were like "...he pooped himself and just continued to sit there pooping and farting some more. Oh God! Now he's showing it to the camera!" Though is it really shade to narrate and react to such a scene in shock and disbelief? I don't think so. (Why would a physically capable adult who can go to a toilet on their own just sit there on camera soiling themselves? And posts it to the internet? Sharts sometimes happen on and off camera, but that ain't how most people deal with them.) There was one short where Jaime French edited herself into a clip of Nik's, but it wasn't making fun of his weight or health...he was hissing a lot and she was reacting as if she was there being hissed at. (Jaime in general has a very cute way of editing herself into clips. The one of her eating pickles with Trish Paytas is oddly wholesome and adorable while also being a little bit gross.)

Only Markiplier can jokingly ask his viewers for money and say that he's above all of his viewers, he's better at this because he far from beleives this, and doesn't berate his audience with the bit, says every once in a while, for only a quick phrase, or a couple minutes, then an hour or two later, says it again, then the joke gets swollowed by the rest of the jokes he make. Although thats smaller. Another thing is admitting when he's wrong. He definitely has some iffy takes (mainly has to do with a certain genre of games) and sometimes admittedly I can't sit through a whole video because his voice isn't exactly the most awakening But I do like the guy seems genuine, level headed and nice Edit: his anime takes are a bit iffy too ngl...

the reason he has so many bad takes is because he does very little research about the topics he talks about. he usually gets ideas for videos while talking to his stream, which is just an echo chamber of people that idolize and agree with him. he then goes on to make a video talking about the topic based on the discussions he had in his stream. seems he never looks things up before talking about them. like on one of his most recent videos about that guy injecting chemicals into the families apartment. he keeps going on about how he was trying to kill them and it was attempted murder. but fails to realize the two chemicals were small dosages of opiates that were clearly meant to calm the baby down because he was sleep deprived from the crying. by no means it his okay or defendable, but it is not attempted murder and he shouldnt be throwing that charge around like its candy.

The infomercial dubs were great too. But he still kind of does things like that when he plays games. Plus the man himself can make just about any topic interesting just by being him and how he words things. He's a down to earth, normal dude who has common sense and doesn't care about internet clout. I have genuine respect for Charlie as a commentary and drama KZbinr. Many other creators who thrive off of spreading drama as it happens always find something negative to talk about, or something to twist into a terrible situation. But Charlie seems like he legitimately cares about what’s going on in the content creator community, showing empathy, compassion, and positive aspects of many situations. He’s less critical than his moniker may suggest. And I respect the Hell out of that. I really do.

I hurt constantly, and my depression only worsens when I am reminded of how I look, even when others say I look beautiful... right, theres a big difference between supporting the idea that ppl love themselves in general through the external bullshit, and when overweight ppl want to safely and healthily lose weight. That should also be supported and encouraged alongside self-care and self-love. Which feels like a huge difference from many ppl who follow the body positivity movement in general, not understanding those differences, and instead harping on how they see ALL desire for health/weight loss as the EXACT same thing as diet/disordered eating culture. Which is also so soo damaging, just as bad as supporting eating disordered cultures. People should both be encouraged and supported in loving themselves, while also supporting and encouraging the idea that loving yourself- sometimes means making different, healthier decisions.
