Dirty Secrets of Scotland

Күн бұрын

A great day at the bottle tip for Willie with a series of really interesting finds. On a Victorian jug he finds, there is a curious riddle - can you work it out before Willie does?!
Also, see Willie restore a beautiful, but damaged, green poison bottle that he finds on the dig.

Dear Mr. Willie. I answered your answer to my comment but I guess you won't see it, because utube changed a lot some months ago. No notification for getting an answer any longer. Only if one hits the thumbs up button, a notification will come.(but unfortunately sometimes only after a lot of hours or even days). Please be so kind and read my answer in the comment section. Thanks in advance! Best regards, luck and health.

Thanks. I sometimes find bottles lying on the surface with the most minuscule chips or damage and it baffles me why anyone would leave them lying there. It only takes a little while and a little care to make them displayable - well worth the minutes/hours of work to have something in your collection for the rest of your life. Willie :)

Dear @@dirtysecretsofscotland Willie You're welcome, it's my pleasure. Thanks for replying and especially for a heart. I totally appreciate both very much. 2) I do those kind of wordplays for 46 years now (since I was about 13 yo I guess). Therefore I absolutely enjoy it, when the lovely Northern Mudlarking Ladies say stopple bopper! My heart/soul kind of opens up. But when gorgeous Gail and funny Alex don't say it or even do entire videos without wordplays, I'm definitely a bit sad. They also use mod carble sometimes but unfortunately seem not to like my wordplay dottle bump! Sigh... ;-) Sincerely yours. Christian

Some really nice finds on the tip this video. The pink cream ( for a lady's face) is stunning as the ginger jar. I love the pub pitcher with the quote. Nice.

Thanks Mary - was another fun and lucky adventure! I did wonder if the pink pot was a cosmetics cream. Have you seen a similar one? I couldn't find another one similar online. The beer jug is great - shame it isn't a bit more complete, so I could restore it. Willie :)

Hi Sue - I'd love to, but I do try to keep a bit of a low profile - hence the camouflage gear. I don't think a bright red kilt would help me too much there..! Maybe in a future detecting video though... Willie :)

@@dirtysecretsofscotland Oh yeah those are so cool! I have seen some on vids, a lot are cracked and broken sadly. Here in the USA, I can't find dumps, they are deeply buried, but be darned I want to find the one my father took me to when I was a child, he used to repurpose nails and such for his work, he was a stone mason by trait. Anyways My goal it to find a good dump and use my metal detectors this year! :)

Love dirty secrets of Scotland.... doing a quick search on vintage pink jugs to help find out about your pink flower vase it turned out to be a pretty fun and funny search😆.... did not find your vase though. Also u should save the bottoms of all of your ❤️ breakers to make a colorful stained glass or a mosaic.

Thanks Cynthia - I'm happy with how it turned out in the end. It took around an hour - start to end. A much easier and faster repair than a stoneware, for example. Very happy that both of our channels are bringing you happiness and enjoyment. Willie :)

Try some UV resin on your glass pieces to see if that helps in your glass repairs, Check it on a piece of glass before you try it on a good piece, It won't feel like glass but it should look like glass. If it works get yourself some UV resin dye if you need to color the glass. Should cut down on having so many sanding steps.
