@@JasonBrant I am telling you, End Game Bronx Lotta Finale is totally SBIG's alley. It has all the SBIG Bingo Card checkmarks. It stars Al Cliver, who may be the world's most dubbed over actor, even topping Steven Seagal, and George Eastman, and a well known (at the time of the movie) exploitation actress; Laura Gesmer. It is low budget Running Man combined with low budget Mad Max. The story, plot, and dialog is something that needs to be observed to be believed. Hey, my friend Henry is in this. He's one of the cops, the guy in front of Bush' portrait at 2:10. He was in a ton of Cirio Santiago movies and also did some 2nd unit directing for him. I've heard wild stores about the on-set safety, or lack thereof, for both stunt performers and actors. He got burned on one set (Behind Enemy Lines with David Carradine, I think) when a firebomb went off too close. "My arm looked like a pizza for a while". It's not uncommon for Americans, or any westerner really, who live in The Philippines to be in movies. I was an extra in Noriega: God's Favorite, starring Bob Hoskins. I have never watched it.

Dave thought he was a real Soldier of Love with his Sade reference, but realized he was the King of Sorrow as everybody missed the Pearls he threw before them. I laugh whenever "Kumite" is used for a secret tournament because every Karate school that has sparring has Kumite, and every competition is literally a Kumite. It means "grappling hands" and refers to any sparring or fighting. On that note, Kata is an old type of shorthand for transmitting techniques, encapsulating moves that have already been learned and practiced in drills and in sparring. It is supposed to show that you have good form and breath control, and can also be a form of meditation. No one who knows what they are talking about ever thought it "made you a good fighter." Each Kata has a "bunkai" or application. What looks like random hand moves can be translated into a move or series of moves. Kata came from a time when not everyone could read, so it was a stylized way to memorize the basics of the style and show what you have learned so far, and as a way of ensuring the style would be passed down the line generation to generation. You can even see very similar kata being used in several Kung Fu styles in China that were the historical basis of Karate, which was created by Okinawans who learned Kung Fu from Chinese travelers and then modified it for their purposes into what became Karate in order to resist Japanese invaders. The original way of writing the characters for "Karate" even meant "Tang (i.e. Chinese) Hand," before modifying it to mean Empty Hand (different characters, same pronunciation). The Japanese forbad Okinawans to have swords, so they had to use Karate and also tools (like farming implements) as weapons, which is where nunchucks come from. And if you know how to actually use nunchucks (and many youtube warriors do not), they are very effective, which is why they have lasted hundreds of years (that and Bruce Lee). All the flashy stuff comes from ways to quicky change your angle of attack based on what your opponent is doing. Sorry for the essay, but this stuff annoys me.
