I'm seriously contemplating not watching The View ever again. I thank you Alyssa for mention what happened in this election that the rest of The View and a lot of people on the left refuse to acknowledge. While yes, racism and sexism played a role in this election, that is not the end-all-be-all reason Trump won and Kamala lost. Most people who voted for Trump know he said all of those offensive comments about everyone and, personally, I believe that most of them do not like the things he said about people. But because a lot of people are struggling to save their wallet and checkbook from gas to groceries to other expenses, Americans wanted a change in who runs things. I don't like that because I do believe Biden and Harris tried to do whatever they could to help struggling people like myself. However, the buck stops with the party who is in charge and a majority of the American Electorate can't think past "throw the bums out". Democrats need to wake up and realize that, despite having policies that a majority of the country approve of, the people in the Democratic Party are not popular with Americans. The View and Democrats must recognize that this election cycle was unwinnable from Joe Biden not announcing he would not run for reelection after the 2022 midterms to Biden's handling of inflation and the War in Gaza to Kamala Harris doing nothing to respond to those anti-Trans ads the Right put out for weeks and weeks to the economy not being good for average everyday Americans like myself. The only way this election could have been winnable for Democrats was if Kamala Harris had done a better job at distancing herself from Joe Biden. And that's one of the top things that hurt her this election: she was the Vice President of an unpopular President. This is especially true given that for just the 2nd time ever in the post-1980s era of American Politics, the Democrats lost the Popular Vote (the only other time since after the 1980s was dubya in 2004).

Alyssa: ordinary American here! I am a single mother of 2 boys 12 y/o and a 24 year old daughter(not financially independent yet) a mortgage, a disabled mother, bills , trying to make ends meet. When I voted, I made sure that my vote went to someone making not only my life better but everyone else’s When I cast a vote, I have to take into account other people besides only myself. What good can come from voting for me and let the world burn? Morality and decency does count even for people like me. It’s not only about economy!

I always love "The View!" 🙂 My only complaint of "The View" is the music you play during the "DEALS" segments. It's too loud and, therefore, distracting. I wish you would lower it, so we can better hear and understand what the deals are about. I only catch bits and pieces of what (usually) Sunny and Sara are saying. So, I'd prefer music that it is just "barely" heard playing in the background--or not at all. After you describe each deal featured, you often gift the audience members with an item, and just about EVERY single time, I cannot hear what you gave them. I also don't want the TV completely blaring, because the music would be WAY too loud. Other shows (Live with Kelly & Mark) feature "deals" segments without music playing, and because I can hear what they're talking about, I'm more interested in the products. 🙂

It's not often that I have a negative comment, but I think the general comments and reactions in the Wicked segment were rather tone deaf. If you've seen anything about the relationship that developed between the 2 female leads, it's one of close, bonding friendship. If you are part of a marginalized community, such as the LGBTQIA community, you identify strongly with Elphaba. Holding space means quiet listening and support. I think Whoopi was quiet because she wasn't comfortable with her co-workers' responses.

I know this may seem like a frivolous complaint, but it’s actually highly annoying and unprofessional. Alyssa! Keep your hands off of your hair!! She’s worse than a high schooler constantly fiddling with it. I recently watched her Behind the Table podcast, and counted (yes, counted!) 40+ times. Every woman on The View panel has hair, and no one else touches, moves, and readjusts it. Maybe it’s from Alyssa’s insecurities, but the compulsion needs to stop. Especially in this professional setting.
