Seeing the intricate details involved in reassembling Vik is both educational and amazing to watch. Thanks for sharing Vik's journey!

Tim's car will be worth more when it's done because it will be 10 years older when this project started.

suggestion for Bodie look at a fuel door hinge on some older trucks for ideas

Why hinge a headlamp bezel? Weld the bracket in. Screw in the bulb assembly. Fit a trim ring. How does someone of Tim’s obvious resources end up in this shop?

I think the charge port is going to end up somewhere else.

I believe this is Tim Allen's meta-joke. Something like Andy Kaufman would do. This build and video series can't be real. It's got to be a joke on us for watching.

Need a hinge like the truck hinge. Arch that’s tied closer to the middle of the light housing

Couldn't be on a rail that it pulls out so far then opens on a hinge, there are about 100 different ways

A "C" hinge would fix that..
@deankay44345 ай бұрын
Bodie, if you used a hinge like the gas lid on an older GM OSB truck they have an ark. They have a radius or ark built in. But you know it has to be made. Weld a base with a single rod bent in a radius to another flat bar behind the headlamp ring.

Eleven minutes of a disgruntled employee. I'm out Tim. Send that car to someone that enjoys fixing problems like Jay Leno

As a handyman with more than 40 years under my belt, I can assure you that most of my jobs are trying to fix and make things work that haven't worked or been fixed in many years, and in a lot of those cases, I'm cleaning up after someone who came before me and screwed it up. I cuss all the way through some of the worst jobs (when the customer(s) aren't present), but still love my job more than you could possible imagine. That feeling of satisfaction you get when it all comes together, and the gratefulness of another satisfied customer is priceless. I've never had to advertise, not even in the phone book. So as a person who sometimes sounds "disgruntled", I can tell you that things are not always as they seem.

I didn’t realize the fenders weren’t completed when they painted the body, or when the car was gone for most of a year.

Couldn't you put a wider swing on the hinge, so it would swing out wider away from the fender?

Maybe move hinge point/latch point vertical if stressing metal too much that way

I'm done with this series. The last couple episodes were painful to watch, and I only made it about 2 minutes into this one before I quit. It feels like I'm watching season 15 of Oak Island or something (I quit that after season 4). Hopefully it'll end up on Leno's show so I can see the finished product.

It’s called “fabrication”. We can armchair quarterback all we want but we aren’t there. Bodie is a good fabricator and he has to do it all himself because the younger crowd doesn’t want to do this kind of work. Car guys go to him for a reason.

Why is Bodie such a crybaby? He's an excellent fabricator but whines way too much.

Cameragirl: PLEASE learn how to use manual focus and PLEASE shut the aperture down a stop or two. If the important things are never in focus, you can't really brag about your shallow depth of field. I can't believe you haven't figured that out over the course of a couple hundred videos.
