In the Fijian culture when there is a funeral as a host you have to prepare a lot of food for the guests and people attending the funeral. In this case there is a funeral in my village and therefore men and women in the village has to work together to make sure that the village can feed all the guests and people during the week of the funeral.
Therefore I am documenting the cooking team that are preparing all the food and all the process behind it.

Uraia, it was exceptionally brave of you to experience AND film this Fijian cultural tradition. I saw how you were traumatised by the slaughtering of the cow, but in my opinion, this may be a more humane way than the West's mass breed and slaughterhouse method. We are so removed from the realities of how meat sits neatly on our supermarket shelf. So ... well done ... brave and exceptionally pioneering to show us a fly on the wall film of how it is done. The meal prep was so interesting - no wonder Fijians have huge biceps lifting gigantic pots of water and food. I really felt this episode shed light on the true, authentic fijian lifestyle in the village. I guess we would all love to taste fresh meat like that, must have been so tasty! Please thank all your cousins and friends for being so willing to share their home and life with us. God Bless.

Bula Karen, maybe you are right about the humane way. I didnt look at it from that perspective. The food was so good and you could Really taste that the Meat was so Fresh. Haha yeah, these guys looks like they have been lifting weights their whole life but I guess its their active lifestyle and the foods they eat. Ill make sure ill tell them that you Said thank you. This is one of the best thing in Fiji!! Boys are always the first ones to be in front preparing food!! Even lovo and so,, not like other Pacific Island Countries were women are the ones to prepare food. For example in Solomon Islands, women will be the ones to prepare food!! This is not a surprise cos I was in Fiji for 3 years studied in USP, so I witnessed it myself! Thanks for the vlog brother, from the Solomons.

@@uraiatabua Let me take this opportunity to tell you how well put together your videos are. They are some of the best 'A day in the life of....' videos of anywhere in the world. I also watch 'The Pale Blue Dot'. His videos about Fiji are also really good but he is more of an outsider, he's like a tourist. I watch many of these types of videos about different countries from around the world and I can't help noticing the difference in presentation quality and substance. Such brave young men, under the overseeing and supervision of the uncles at a distance. To be sure the boys do it correctly. Awesome. A skill the young men must learn thru out life to become the next generation of The providers of their village. The grown men are the respectful "Ole School' mentors and teachers. Teaching the young men to become responsible providers. So proud of these fine young Fijian men carrying on the teachings that they also will pass down to future generations of the village. Keep the tradition, and never let the city or progress change your ways of customs and ways of life. I cry with tears of appreciation for your awesome videos. Thank you..
