Nice work by Madison Teddy, Amy Schneiderhan, and Mike Edwards in putting together a terrific walk down memory lane. No small undertaking. Good luck with the HGTV Town Takeover contest. Whether win or lose the video will be appreciated by all who see it.

Sweet, but too short. I need to see about an hour more of this town. Would live there in a minute.

Keweenaw looks like it would be pronounced Kuh-wee-naw, but I notice that locals pronounce it Key-wih-naw. Wonder how this came about?

A bit like that other place in Michigan, but smaller, and less homicide.

Be careful with gentrification.

It’s idyllic, that’s for sure. Is it practical? How long would it take an ambulance to get to your home in the case of an emergency. It’s fascinating to observe and maybe to visit for a while, but how realistic is it to live there. It really does exude peace and safety, however. I think that it would be rather barren and would require a stone like mental constitution to survive. Having said that, though, it is kind of alluring in a romantic sort of way.
