I get that it’s supposed to have a more loose feel, but I kinda wish there was more connective tissue between episodes. It’d be cool to see a story play out for a whole season. And I’d love to see further character development. Still a fun watch 🙂

That was my first instinct. It’s like an LA “Atlanta”. I’m here for it. I’m here for more Afro-Surrealist shows…

not even comparable tbh, but they tried

It’s nothing like Atlanta. I don’t know why people feel this way. And honestly comparing it to Atlanta is just lazy. Vince gave you insight on what it’s like to still feel the internal and external struggle of trying to leave your past behind, while also trying to not be confined to what you were brought up in or around. That’s why you see his homies who were bank robbers and they look at him as a beacon of hope. Vince understands the influence and responsibility he holds for his community. It puts a lot of pressure on him to continue pushing forward but it’s too many things from his past trying to pull him down. Getting jumped by dress ups at a carnival, set-up to order some chicken in a foreign place, his family asking him for money, m**rde*ng someone who had beef with him and etc. for someone that’s a rookie in this space, he captured a lot of different topics and feelings in 5 episodes. Vince has a very bright future in film/TV whenever he ends up.

The way that each episode has hidden meanings and provokes thoughts, it reminds me a lot of Starz Blindspotting. There was less comedy and more satire. I wish there was more episodes and I hope Netflix allows for it to continue.
@headwhere4 ай бұрын
Yeah Blindspotting is a good comparison, I love that movie, and kinda forgot about that movie. I need to rewatch that! It’s kinda like a much more tame version of Sorry to Bother You.
@rainy07064 ай бұрын
@@headwhere Blindspotting had a spinoff show on Starz that was very good. I think it had 2 or 3 seasons. If you liked the Vince Staples Show, you'll definitely like Blindspotting.

I was very excited for this show o was only slightly disappointed. I guess i just wanted more of a linear story. But i also like that i could just put on any episode and show it to a friend and they don’t really need to see the one before it

I thought Episode 2 was the strongest by far. The others were lacking in terms of writing

I totally agree it really peaked, but that episode was so good

Episode 5, the Kapow Pops was crazy😂 and I guess that’s kind of a callback to episode 2

Appreciate your review I wasn’t sure where to give my opinion on this joint 😂if anyone even cares for it. Vince is that dude nothing but respect for a brother for putting this together it’s major. Show was great had that humour that is street 🥷 enjoy but also a little thought provoking. No criticisms at all cause how could you shoutout to Vince . Hoping there’s another season with # pause , longer episodes would be dope if we could have a story to follow along through the episodes it allows the viewer to have some development with the characters and makes for those “euphoric” moments you can’t duplicate cause the humour hits with the plot kinda thing .

The show needs more episodes! It was very enjoyable. I noticed quite a lot of symbolism in the episodes as well. Maximum respect to Vince!

If I’m being real, just a little bit of the acting could have been better, but other than that, it’s decent

That’s true, I probably should’ve covered the acting. Anyway, thanks for the support!

Show was cool . Inconsistent with the acting , the all over the place plot between each episode is fine but could be executed better . Not the worst thing . First two episodes were lowkey funny . I liked the amusement park one as well

It would be better if he could actually act. If, you can't act being yourself. Its bad. Everyone around him can act better, which saves it.

Everyone calling it fake Atlanta but you wouldn’t call Atlanta fake twin peaks. We can have multiple black shows of the same genre. Show was fire imo

If you make zombie show number #100 nobody says anything. If you make black surreal show #3 people will call it a rip off.

Honestly the show is ass, poor acting from Vince as a LEAD actor, forced screenwriting and so on, only good thing was cinematography and a couple jokes here and there but its worst than the poor mans Atlanta tbh
@santiagoskywalker4 ай бұрын
literally a fake ass Atlanta, this show is like you asked your mom for some retro 11’s and she brings you home some Jayson Tatum Team Jordans. They stole so much from Atlanta aesthetically and plotline wise. Even young Vince Staples was the same actor from the Three Slaps episode. Not tryna hate but we all loved Atlanta and mfs tried to basically make another season of it just swapping Vince for Donald Glover. Netflix dont need to pick this shit up for another season, we good on the bootleg Childish Gambino vision
