Very inspiring. I guess even opera singers are doing this thing, copy a mentor and then pick up some thing from a hero even if the technique is “wrong” or different. Since they use low larynx they all sound the same to me, but I can tell from their comments that there is nuance there I don’t really hear. As far as Perry, if you haven’t seen it, journey through time gig is metal drummer deen Castronovo (cacophony, mcalpine, ozzy etc), sings all the Perry songs better than anyone I have heard. While playing drums! 😅 actually I compared his versions and he maybe is even better. Of course they ask why not front Journey? He admitted after the gig his voice was shot for some days and could not imagine doing a tour like Arnel does. Brody Dolyniuk is another impressive singer that imitates Freddy Mercury, Sammy Hagar etc, like Vegas style copy show. Pretty amazing voice
