The problem that I find with the VLK scope in snipers, is that your sight is further away from the reticle, making it very hard to spot people beyond 60/70 meters, and it's even worse if you have a wider FOV; but if you're able to make it work... Oh boy you're up for a good sniper game. As always, nice shots Stod!

Same that's why I have my sensitivity on 14 on both and ads sensitivity on 0.90 that makes it a lot easier to line up shots.

Try unlocking the "T-pose" reticle, it gives you a nice clean crosshair like sniper scope. And use the Cronen Pro Optic with it. I think you might just have an easier time lining up those long range shots

Try using more stability attachments. Sway is really bad on the vlk scope on snipers and marksman rifles. You can’t stay ads or it will sway all over. Stod basically quick-scopes so he doesn’t have to worry about stability. But if you stay ADS for more then a quick scope you need more stability to stay on target. The bipod is a great attachment for stability. All you gotta do is crouch or lay down you don’t need to mount up. But if you do mount with a bipod attached you will have basically no weapon sway at all

Been using this exact class for a while, can honestly say this is the most versatile load out for Warzone. Kar98 with the VLK optic is great for close to medium range but also can be used for those long range shots if you know where to shoot. Matched with a MP5 or MP7, you can cover all ranges at great speed. However instead of using sleight of hand perk, I'd use a stock or grip tape which helps with aim stability. When you have the VLK optic, it reloads the 5 rounds in one go, as suppose to one at a time when having the sniper scope optics.

Agreed. Because it ADS much faster I'm not even sure it's at a huge disadvatange to larger sniper scopes in the north of the map if somebody isn't great at hitting their headshots. Plus that no glint feels so comforting at times.

I started really using the Kar98k when I combined it with the 4.0x flip hybrid. It took a bit of getting used to but eventually I could get into fights at ridiculous ranges, and can regularly shoot people out of the sky. Being able to flip between zoom levels has also proven useful in cqb situations if I'm caught with my pants down and don't have time to swtich. I've used the VLK to the same effect but I definitely recommend giving the flip hybrid a try just to mix it up. So on your loadout, I'd swap: - switch scope to 4.0x flip sight. - consider swapping S.o.H for FMJ (for great vehicle pen) or STVOL Precision comb. (might be placebo but I swear it feels a lot more stable at longer ranges.)

Definitely video from pre-C4 nerf. So take it with a grain of salt. If you’re good at quick scope or want to try to be better this works. But like Stodah said, it’s a medium range sniper. You aren’t likely to hit a 150m+ shot with VLK against most snipers that aren’t hard scoping.

I've been using a similar build in almost every game for months and it's by far my favorite gun. Only differences on my build are Precision Comb instead of SoH for maximum stability (less idle sway when "hard scope" sniping, plus as you mentioned the reload speed is already drastically increased by not having a sniper/variable scope) and I use the Cronen C480 3.5x optic w/ T-Pose reticle instead of the VLK 3.0x, it has more zoom, a wider aperture, less visual clutter, and the ADS speed is only 4ms slower according to Codgundata. It's a much better ACOG sight for sniping IMO.

@@Brionkendo Focus reduces flinch while getting shot while ads. So you can fight even more aggressively. I think you are referring to Presence of Mind which gives extended hold breath

I've been using the Cronen C430 scope on the Kar98 for a while now. Cleaner overall peripheral sight picture than the VLK and an additional 0.25x zoom. You lose the nice VLK stock reticle, but I actually find that I'm more consistent with the Double Cross reticle anyways. You can also increase your effective range on this build if you swap the SoH perk for the STVOL precision comb stock to improve aim stability with no ads penalty.

I prefer the cronen but the vlk is also a good alternate. I have now switched to running these scopes instead of the standard scope because the pros are just too good compared to the cons it has. The sniper glint is also quite dangerous especially in the current night mode. I've downed snipers way too often because of their HUMUNGOUS sniper glint. My personal build: mono long barrel tac laser cronen sport comb playstyle: Quickscope everything. Don't hardscope when using smaller scopes cuz it makes the aim sway so much more noticeable and slows down your target acquisition. Hit the head and if you miss, you most likely hit the chest so all you need to do is follow up another shot and it's an instant down. Simple easy and aggressive.

Honestly Kar98 bullet velocity makes it for a poor sniper, I think it's much better off with the VLK scope because medium range is where is shines with the snappy ADS and bullet speed isn't an issue. An added bonus is faster reload without sniper scope!

GOD DAMN IT NOOOOO! This was one of the best secrets in warzone. Countering snipers without a scope glint and taking out unsuspecting squads without them realizing where the shots were coming from. That being said, it still requires having good aim.

I like using either the hybrids or the scout optic because it zooms more. I use the reticle that looks like a sniper scope. The flip hybrid has a 4X zoom

I actually dropped my best kill win with a non sniper scope Kar. Mine was slightly different: I ran 1. Monolithic Supresser 2. Singard Arms 27.8 3. Tac Laser 4. Cronan 3.5x scope I ran this over the VLK because it gives slightly more zoom, and for a sniper I think it's worth it 5. Aim stability stock (I forgot the name) I ran the stock over slight of hand because you're already getting a boost to reload time by not using a sniper scope and aiming stability really helps because you can't hold your breath

The SPR-208 has an even higher ADS and more mobility and higher fire rate if you build it this way. So you should try VLK with SPR-208!

I know u Probably not goin to see this Stodeh, but if u do, I recommend this, so I see u use a smg with sniper instead of ar sniper so use this: CR56 AMAX 1. Monolithic Suppressor 2. Intruder barrel 3. Tac Laser 4. Merc Foregrip 5. 45 round mag, And for the kar98k just use the same attachments u used in this vid except take off the vlk and add the variable zoom scope

Because I'm doodoo with sniping in general (also a console player), I've found that a "stability" stock instead of an "ADS speed" stock helps immensely with quick snipes actually hitting the target. Maybe someone else will find this info useful. 🤷‍♂️

Ugh, Stodeh I comment and try to tell you so many times, the VLK is redundant(the recoil reduction doesn't matter its a bolt action) on the Kar98, you should be using the Cronen Pro Optic, the lens itself has more visibility( less black around the rim of the scope) and .5x more magnification. Also try the "T-pose" reticle cuz the default one is 🤮.

How about the Cronen Pro optic? It's only 4ms extra ADS compared to the VLK, still faster than regular scope, and it has 3.5x instead of 3.0x zoom. Also try the aiming stability stock (precision comb I think) instead of SoH for easier target acquisition

You should try the SP-R 208 with the Dragoon barrel, tac laser, VLK scope, feather bolt, and XRK ultimate stock. You could even try the XRK Blitz stock for additional sprint-to-fire speed but without a traditional sniper scope I like the aiming stability with the Ultimate stock. I’ve been melting with this setup lately and it’s very similar to your Kar build in this video except with the feather bolt you can get shots off even faster than the Kar.

I've used the Kar with the VLK since season 3 and what I use instead of slight of hand is the stock option that increases aiming stability because I felt like I needed it for a bit longer ranged shots will enemy's are moving. Great vids and just a suggestion to try!

While I'm a year late I'm finally going for Damascus on all the guns and found that I was dreading marksman rifles.... Actually ended up feeling pretty awesome with the Kar 98 especially in MP quickscoping people. Very cool gun.....absolutely detest the others though

Kar is still weaker in damage than the SPR but has MUCH faster ADS speed after the NERF to SPR. It comes down to your preference really... Faster ADS with lower bullet velocity, damage and range vs slower ADS with more damage, faster bullet velocity and more range.
