My father Ed Appelson, may he rest in peace, was a long-time member of the VM. Loved going to rehearsal and hearing them sing this and others. My dad had a high baritone/low tenor voice that would always stand out. I could pick out his voice when they'd sing the Star Spangl'd Banner. Miss you Dadnor.

I always get the greatest patriot feeling when I hear soldiers sing their respective armed forces tune. It hits home more than when hip hop artist always feel the need to do that over the top tweaking with the national anthem. Sometimes, it's just best to sing it how it is and leave it at that.

Terrific & inspiring version (medley) of the official songs of the United States of America armed forces~! Any patriotic American would enjoy hearing this medley & giving thanks to God & our defenders of this great country~~the greatest country on planet Earth~! Having seen "The Vocal Majority" in person on several occasions I can attest to just how good this talented group of men are & the good work they continue to do, especially their leader: Jim Clancey. Keep it up men~!

Always glad to hear the Coast Guard anthem! My father was aboard LST 794 in the Pacific Campaign His ship joined the fleet in the Marianus and Solomon islands, were in the invasion of the Philippines, Saipan, and earned their battle star at Okinawa. After he surrender they did China duty-bringing Koreans back to Korea and Japanese prisoners back to Japan. My father was always afraid that the people would forget the great combat history of the United States Coast Guard, we will not,

enterprisebaby with the sensitivity now? Not very likely. People already tried to redo the NATIONAL ANTHEM because they said it was violent. That was a real stunning moment for me. So ridiculous. If they did that to the anthem, great chance they might do something to these tunes. "We will fight our country's battle? Did we give the government consent? If not, have we been enslaved??? This is not what America's about!" or something stupid like that.

You should feel this when it's in person. The recording doesn't do it justice...I saw them at a 4th of July concert. Now THAT got everyone to there feet. @Abbyneedsmetalhelp118 жыл бұрын
Michael White im sorry, did i say there was anything wrong with being old? i actually thoroughly enjoyed the medley and put them in comparison to the the young women of pitch perfect, and in my opinion, i believe they sound even better. stop assuming sir.
@64MDW8 жыл бұрын
+Abby Overby No assumption. I worked off on what you originally wrote. In light of today's environment, "basically old men" came off as disrespectful. Use better phraseology, miss.
@64MDW8 жыл бұрын
Oversensitive...no. Realistic,...yes. Young people today, particularly 20-something "men", are self-absorbed, stupid, over-indulged and androgynous. Try being a straight, white man over the age of 60 nowadays...and see how it goes for you.
