You might enjoy the SFM videos of the Death Korps of Krieg. The Death Korps of Krieg come from the Death World called Krieg (Obviously). It used to be a Hive planet until a Civil War caused them to nuke their City till the atmosphere is more radioactive than Moscow in the Metro series. The Death Korps is a guard regiment where the Commissars aren't there to shoot cowards. They are there to stop the Kriegers from doing a suicidal Bayonet charge straight into the guns of whoever they are fighting. They do this because they believe it is the only way they can ever earn the Emperor's forgiveness. They have this WWI German vibe mixed with Diesel punk aesthetics.

If they're going to do that they should just do a fully animated movie. If they're going to do live action, it should be live action with practical effects. People can make convincing Space Marine cosplay in their garage, there's no reason a high budget studio couldn't make it practical

3:31 LoneCourier21 got some of it wrong. Black carapace is under the marines skin, there is only 1 tech-priest the rest are either servitors, mechanicus menials or serfs. Chapter serf do include failed space marine recruits but failing in the trials or implantatiojn leads to death more often than not. But serfdom isn't limited to them, there are also people whom may have pledged themselves to the service of the Chapter for a reason or another or they could have been just taken and put to work. Also very likely they could have just been born to serfdom, it is not just men that are serfs.

Yes the black carapace is one of the gene seed organs. The only part that's visible are the ports in the marines skin. This is how the armor syncs with their nervous system allowing it to behave as if its part of their body. I've seen quite a few people make this mistake. Learn your lore before spreading wrong information folks.

my understanding is each stud if for 100 years of service. I looked it up and i guess it differs depending on the lore/chapter. it can be as low as 10 years per stud but most people translate them as 100 years per stud.

@@Lazrael32 IIRC Helbrect had 4 in Helreach and Grimaldus had 2, 50 years per stud seems reasonable but yeah different chapters have different ways of doing it. Some use different colours too, gold vs silver
