Like many people here, watched this many times over. Always thought Brittany was the better singer but the more I come back to this song the more I prefer Kelsie. It's as if the song slows down when she steps in, Brittany has a wonderful voice but it's like she's trying to overpower Kelsie and not quite managing it. Emotion, control and variety, Kelsie is flawless. Either way, great battle.

Coming back to this after more than 8 years, I'm disappointed that Kelsie and Brittany didn't record some music together. Although I'm more partial to Kelsie's performance with this song, I also think they complement each other so beautifully - Brittany's got that more husky, grounded quality in her voice where Kelsie sounds very ethereal. Both are outstanding singers.

kesie didnt win for nothing she IS very good, but she not win because she is better, because is not, she won only because the judges prefer this kind of voice kind of pop, but brittany is much better not singing but inside her heart and the way she singing her soul to the people she is more like a angel, thats why she didnt win people hate angels , thats why i never watch this program anymore.

They were both absolutely amazing. Kelsie's voice is soft and when she hits those high notes it made my heart stop. Brittany's voice is strong and powerful and gave me goosebumps. Though out of the two I would choose Brittany.

That final note by Kelsie was haunting. Brittany's version I feel like was more true to the original form of the song, but Kelsie added a really refreshing timbre and style to the vocals, and I feel like hers was the more nuanced of the two performances.
