My grandma who’s 97 this year watched this in 2012 and Mitchell’s performance really touched her and made her cry. I asked her why, she said the distinct difference for her was that he showed simple, natural and honest emotion, nothing put on and the magic of his voice did the rest. The vulnerability and power in his voice reached deep into her soul.

What the heck are these two doing? Why are they not all over our TVs? This performance gives me goosebumps everytime I watch it. These two run rings around nearly every other contestant since. I loved Fatai, and gosh Mitchell, why you are not in every musical to date I don’t know. You have such presence and an amazing voice!

You know I’ve just finished watching The Voice AU and I have to agree that this guy Mitchell Thompson should have been and would have easily made it in the top 4 of the competition or even further. He has all the qualities and his voice is truly amazing sure there are no arguments about that. Competitions like these are frustrating sometimes as the best singers don’t always get picked to go further. People want raw talent, he’s such an example, best wishes to you Mitchell Thompson!

This is one of my favourite performances from The Voice 2012. Both singers have great singing voices that compliment each other and vocally match perfectly for this song.
