Janet Varney absolutely kills it as Korra, the moment she breaks down feels so raw. But it also speaks a lot to how she sees herself: in Atla, Aang introduced himself as Aang and tried to hide the fact that he was the avatar, but in her first season, Korra introduces herself as the avatar. This is one of the first times that we really see her not as the avatar but as Korra.

Hi Bunnytails, really enjoying this. If you’ve not seen, I’d recommend cartoon movies made by Japanese film makers, Studio Ghibli, especially Spirited Away, Princess Monoke, My Neighbour Totoro and Kiki’s Delivery Service 😀

This is why Korra is different from moden heroines. She reminds me a lot of Buffy. They are both in their mid teens and come with their powers but both accept guidance from a male mentor who is also a surrogate father. This episode shows Korra has been putting up a front and is in fact someone who has a lot of growing ahead of her. This makes her much more interesting than most of the marvel women.

I think it is a bit Tensins fault Tarlok could pressure Korra into the task force. He could have prepared her for that questioning. All she had to say was that she thinks the task force is too dividing.

I am not sure if this the right way, but I remember once you said if we come across anime we think you might enjoy. This week I watched "My Happy Marriage" and I really enjoyed it, and I think you may as well not in a first time reaction sense but just to watch it.
