Bit of a Volkswagen trademark, that - but unfortunately, they're just seat covers! Whilst you can get Plaid seats on the MK5, this one just has boring grey cloth. Comfy, though.

The intro clips and picture quality now look cinematic and great presenting as usual. I'm determined to own a Phaeton you mentioned at some time but the Golf doesn't do much for me tbh

Thanks for the support, as always- the phaeton is a stunning vehicle, essentially an understated Bentley. Never had the privilege of driving one but I've sat in a fair few and they get everything right. It's all very sensible in the cab but there's nothing wrong with that. It's understated and elegant. The 3.0 V6 seems to be the best daily, though the diesel V10 could tow the earth, and the 6.0 W12 is ludicrous. The Golf is really the epitome of 'the car', there's nothing particularly exciting about it, but it does everything so competently that it's worthy of praise. Thanks for watching!

7:20 to be fair, the Corolla of that time had better materials inside than the mk5 golf. The 4 doors had soft touch leatherette in the upper part, unlike the Mk5 golf :)

And although not lined with felt, the cubby spaces had carpet, all of them, not hard brutal plastic showing

@@AntJoseph_ interesting, I think there's a bit of a preconceived notion that Toyota interiors are a little bit plastic-y albeit hardwearing, though that's not always true. I've never actually been in that gen of corolla, I'll have to check one out at some point - thanks for watching
