Could not be classically punk if it tipped the timer over the 3 minute mark. Purists would argue 3 minutes is already a breakaway pattern from traditional punk genre song layout and length. I really enjoyed the lyrical pattern choices as well. Such as lack of repetition of words, including a clear chorus. But the singer keeps the listener engaged, and the music itself drives the song forward at a quick clip. The band itself is tight. I really like this song. 🎉

Lyrics: On another day, c'mon c'mon With these ropes I tied, can we do no wrong? Now we grieve, cause now is gone Things were good when we were young With my teeth locked down, I can see the blood Of a thousand men who have come and gone Now we grieve, cause now is gone Things were good when we were young Is it safe to say? C'mon, c'mon Was it right to leave? C'mon, c'mon Will I ever learn? C'mon, c'mon C'mon, c'mon, c'mon, c'mon As I make my way, c'mon c'mon These better nights that seem too long Now we grieve, cause now is gone Things were good when we were young With my teeth locked down, I can see the blood Of a thousand men who have come and gone Now we grieve, cause now is gone Things were good when we were young Is it safe to say? Man, those early 2000s garage rock tunes were something. They started with the drums and riffs blasting like hell, hitting you like a frickin' freight train of awesomness, then followed by a beaten up distortion pedal and the kids howling their hearts out like if they were being dragged to Irak....and then, suddenly, the song ended like it started, after 2 or 2 minutes in a half, tops. I was brought here by a Rolling Stone article, entitled "The 100 Greatest TV Theme Songs of All Time." Usually I avoid such rankings because they are entirely subjective and often annoy me. When it comes to music, however, I have this fear that there might be the most incredible song or piece of music out there that I haven't heard yet, and so I thought that I would check out this article. Since I'm not much of a television watcher, I am very happy to have discovered this article and, thereby, this song, because I may well have lived the rest of my life without ever hearing it.

The worst thing about this song is that it doesn't go for 4 minutes! Awesome track, too short.

I used to watch The kids from Degrassi street then Degrassi junior high, Degrassi High then Degrassi the next generation came out. My mom and i used to watch every Friday night and during episodes teen nick used to play music videos. Now I'm talking 2003-2004. I was in my mid twenties and m9m in her early 50's when this video came on and we heard the words clearly we both sighed at the end because we bought identified with the song. Mom passed in 2013 but everytime I here this song she comes to me and i can see use singing together.

And know these days, these deepens wounds, don’t heal so fast, can’t hear me croon, of the million lies that speak no truth, of a time gone by the now is through. One of the best lyrics ever written.

My exposure to alternative music in the early 2000s brought me here. Unfortunately, the new Mercedes-Benz CLA commercial reminded me this song and band existed. It is sad how times changed.
