I'm not supposed to be watching this (I'm still back in California Summer of '19 as you near the Pacific NW) but it started playing on it's own and I'm listening to your jazzy sultry sound as you talk about walking the hills of Leesburg, Virginia and looking around the sites on the Appalachian Trail (thumbs up for pronouncing Apple At cha n) and my mind is doing a smash up of your background music (covered trumpet) with John Denver's Almost Heaven, West Virginia and - it's perfect. I love that area of the country.--the Appalachians, Shenandoah Valley, the Blue Ridge Parkway, The Smokies...if only it wasn't so far away from California! I was in Shenandoah National Park last year but had to cut my visit short when I got a slow leak and persistent tire pressure alarm. I high tailed it down to the valley--didn't want to drive those mountain roads with the mini spare tire. If you're ever in the area again, check out Natural Bridge State Park. See you, as they say, down the road!

Hi Robert, finished the series today on Amazon. Has taken some months with viewing here-and-there. Thank you for making the doc' and there's something charming about your presenting and filming style. Certainly a trip of a lifetime and I could see you were getting a bit tired by the time you reached the east coast. I can understand that though. My highlight was the Grand Teton / wider area in Wyoming. I'm from the UK and I've been the state's a number of times, not the north west of the middle though. They're the areas that interest me. Surprised to see you don't have more subscribers on KZbin!

Millers is one of the top 3 AUE places for me , Mostly for the freshest of Food and it's overall Cleanliness. Been there many times in the last 40 years. I've done 2 Thanksgivings there just outstanding . Also you were only few minutes away from Strasburg Railroad

Steve Lucier I have an EZ Pass, but I still avoid the PA Turnpike like the plague. There are many alternate routes (I68, I79, I80, I81, US 22, US 30, US 322, US 422, etc.).

How was the drive down the Pa. Turnpike. Are there steep grades?

Nothing too steep

Most of the PA turnpike is on former railroad right of way, so the grades are gentle. I68, which is an alternate to the south, has much steeper grades.
