the 24 val BDF has the same lack of support but it can move and ive kept it stock on purpose. Ive had silly cold air intakes ruin multiple MAF sensors on several mk2s and 3s. i went k&n. And all the bent cracked aftermarket rims was too much.

I agree. I've had mine for 13-14-15 years now. Paid for it probably twice with repairs.. But the sound with a nice respectable exhaust and they pull of the VR6 motor just keeps me in love with it.

Nice ride! Your video brings back memories. I had a 2000 Jetta GLX VR6 5MT. Minor mods - Koni+Eibach cup kit, BBS 18's, ECS Tuning cold air intake, Revo Stage 1 tune, ECS Tuning stainless catback (dual tips w/ a GLI rear valance), all Ziza lighting inside & out, Alpine head unit/ 4x6.5"s, 10" sub, amp, 40% tint all the way around...I babied that car for like 15 years - dealer maintained for every 5k service, detailed at least once a month...wish I still had her...

I just got a VR6 GLX for 2,500 with 170,000 miles on it. I got to say it does sound really nice and handles well. I got the same green color with the 5 speed manual transmission. I was recommended to drive it like a granny to save maintenance trips to the shop but that will be hard with the engine sounding the way it does. Great video and thanks for sharing!

I got a grey 04 jetta gli. 200k on the body but the engine rebuilt W forged bottom end 30k ago. I love the car. There is awd jettas in Europe called boras. They have the 4morion system but NA jettas never had 4motion. You can swap the drivetrain and gas tank, but it also means you have to cut the rear flooring out and weld it onto the NA Jetta for awd

i wouldnt say that the vr6 is dying, in terms of engine availability. although they ceased production in 2023 (which is after this video) if you are solely looking for the engine its available in numerous vw/audi models. For instance, the vw tuareg, audi tt, and many many more. a swap is very possible depending on the chassis you are planning to implant into

@justinb954
@justinb954 2 жыл бұрын
@Bendega "This car has definitely had the exhaust replaced." Not all the exhausts have been as lucky as yours. Ive been super lucky in almost everyway but the 2 issues. 1 is that my exhaust sounds like absolute shit after almost 20 years and the radi. The cats honeycomb has just rusted away. "If you do thorough VW research you will sadly find out to the chagrin of quite a few, that these "are not VR6 engines." Yes they are misbadged but, when has VW not done that? They are actually V6 motors. I beg you to research the engine before attacking me, because i have the exact same money green vr6 jetta in my driveway. IE with a shitty exhaust but still the love of my life. The 2.8 is a dying breed availaible i think only in suvs now.
